  1. "Edgy Tim" has released a list of the five signees from the state of Illinois he considered to be the biggest steals. According to an SFI tweet, a UND signee is included, although I don't have a subscription and don't know which one. Probably Golladay?
  2. Agreed. Factor in the youth, particularly at safety, and I think there's reason to be concerned.
  3. Mike Edwards article: http://host.madison....1871e3ce6c.html
  4. As far as I can tell, Zach Oliver's teammate from Omaha Burke, OL James Andersen, hasn't signed with anybody. I wonder if he's still an option for UND? EDIT: Scratch that--Andersen apparently signed with Mankato.
  5. SFI just tweeted that Mussman said another OL will likely be signed in the next few days.
  6. I thought this was a pretty interesting response by Mussman to a question about replacing Belmore as recruiting coordinator:
  7. I'm still somewhat shocked by the fact that only one OL was signed. I can't recall that ever happening before.
  8. Not sure whether anybody else follows "Edgy Tim" on twitter, but he tweeted a little while ago that "Daveed Carter from Loyola Academy will NOT be signing an LOI with North Dakota today". I can only assume there must have previously been a report that he would be. I've never heard of him before.
  9. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but between what has happened with Aaron Smith, Anya Gafu and the Butlers, maybe we see why there seemed to be less recruiting in Cali this year than the past couple of years.
  10. Per the live chat, Tim Belmore has accepted the offensive coordinator position at Jamestown College. Good luck to him. Also, Anya-Gafu is no longer at UND, and while both Breon and Javen Butler are still at UND, neither is part of the football program. Both are ineligible and are "highly unlikely" to return.
  11. An article in today's Herald stated that another transfer could be brought in at the safety position if a need is demonstrated in spring ball.
  12. Per the recruiting live chat on undsports.com, UND will be playing San Jose St. in 2014.
  13. Konowalski, Bartels, Edwards, Mollberg and Labat are in.
  14. I don't particularly care whether the real story comes out or not, but I thought it was interesting that SFI specifically asked Kolpack last night via tweet whether Arp decommitted from UND, and neither Kolpack nor Izzo have responded yet.
  15. Kolpack is now reporting Arp to NDSU.
  16. Per wissports.net, LB/RB Joe Schobert from Waukesha West has committed to UND.
  17. 6'5" or 6'6", about 220; 9-man all state TE; good speed for his size; good basketball player.
  18. In a way, it's frustrating that so many good FCS prospects are choosing to walk on at Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, etc. On the other hand, the ND FCS schools are also benefitting by the decisions of many of the area's best players to walk on rather than accept scholarship money from an NSIC school. In the past, I would not have expected to get players the quality of Schwarzkopf, Coyle, Arp or Larson to walk on.
  19. According to an SFI tweet, a total of 28-30 new additions are expected between high school signees, transfers and preferred walk ons.
  20. Per Vic Ames, it sounds like Ford is going the juco route.
  21. Oliver reminds me a little of former UNO receiver Chris Denney, who was really good.
  22. An SFI tweet confirms the Coyle commitment, along with teammate Jake Watson, a LB.
  23. I haven't seen him play football, but I know he's a very good all around athlete--probably one of the top five basketball players in the state this year, and one of the best two or three 300m hurdlers. He was also named the ND football player of the year by ESPN.
  24. He was in high school. I assume he'd be recruited as an "athlete".
  25. Somebody on the ND Preps board posted that Mandan's Devin Coyle will be attending UND. If true, I believe he would be one of the preferred walk ons mentioned in the SFI tweet yesterday.
