  1. If I'm not mistaken, Zach Zenner and Jake Wieneke each had one division I offer out of high school. I doubt SDSU sniffs the playoffs this year without those two. Those are the types of players UND can hopefully uncover in the future. I feel optimistic that between Momoh, Engwall, Rooney, Santiago, Rodgers and Lawrence, UND has done quite well in MN this year, regardless of who else did or did not offer those kids. The 247 rankings seem to support this opinion: http://247sports.com/Season/2015-Football/CompositeRecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool&State=MN
  2. Sounds like one of the UAB transfers must have committed to UND, per a Maurice tweet.
  3. Best of luck to Hanson. You have to respect any kid who chooses one of the service acadamies.
  4. It was pretty much right now one year ago today that Bubba's hiring was announced. While there have been a few inevitable bumps in the road, I think he and his staff have done a great job so far.
  5. I'm struggling with this too. I guess we can focus our attention on the development of Hooker, Cashman, Shanks and Shields, because for the most part the rest of the current team is gone after this year or next year.
  6. JUCO running back D.J. Peluso hasn't announced his destination as of yet to the best of my knowledge. I believe he holds offers from UND and Savannah St.
  7. If my math is correct, against division I opponents UND is (-15) in first halves, and (-124) in second halves.
  8. UND leads USD at the half 46-37.
  9. Here's the press release announcing the three juco transfers: http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=209815090
  10. McCabe is signing with Montana St.
  11. I know some are trying to temper expectations for Shanks, which I understand, but I honestly just hope that in time, he's a more physically gifted version of senior year Mitch Wilmer. It will be interesting to see exactly how far away from Wilmer's senior year level Shanks is by the end of this season.
  12. Jonathan Reed has UND at 11th in his Big Sky power rankings. Hard to argue with it. http://www.bigskybball.com/2014/12/big-sky-power-rankings-121514.html?spref=tw
  13. Assuming Jones could find an assistant job at a division I mid-major (such as UNI or Creighton), wouldn't the buyout end up being almost nothing? It would be reduced by whatever salary he gets from his next coaching job.
  14. In the event a change were made in the next year or two, I would take a serious look at Chad Walthall from MSU-Moorhead.
  15. JUCO safety Zach Arnell has committed to UND, per SFI.
  16. It appears another UAB safety, Desman Carter, may soon be visiting UND also.
  17. UNDRecruiting just re-tweeted a Peluso tweet that indicated that he was offered a full scholarship, and he seemed pretty excited about it. I wouldn't be surprised if he commits soon, if he hasn't already.
  18. Not to beat a dead horse regarding the length of UND's search from last year, but...
  19. I haven't seen her play aside from a few highlights here and there, but she appears to be a true 5, with perhaps the ability to step out and hit a medium-range jump shot and drive around slower defenders. Like most high school kids, she'll have to get stronger, but she appears to have decent strength and speed already for her height. Just based upon her high school numbers, I am thinking she'll be an upgrade, at least offensively, over UND's current reserve posts.
  20. I expect Klabo to not only play next year, but to start. Obviously there's a big need for scoring in the post with Evers' departure after this year, and I don't see anybody else aside from Klabo having the ability to realistically fill that role.
  21. Rumor has it Montana is going to hire Bob Stitt from Colorado Mines.
  22. Commitment (commitments?) from Key West. The twins?
  23. Even though it means very little this early in the season, it's pretty cool that UND has an RPI of 57 right now.
  24. The overall numbers aren't good on the season. It was not a one-game thing. Buck was the main 3-point threat last year, and after her the numbers were quite underwhelming. I just feel like with 15 scholarships, you can afford to have a zone-buster or two, even if they might not be great athletes or well-rounded players. I'm not trying to be a downer here. It's just that there are some teams coming up on the schedule that are a lot better than NDSU, and I don't like UND's chances of even keeping it close against UM or USD without hitting some 3's.
