I would start with any junior who is hardly playing at all. Particularly a fourth-year junior.

Considering how much of a weakness rebounding is right now, and that Hooker will be the leading returning rebounder next season, I'm concerned exactly how this situation is going to get fixed without bringing in at least one more new player beyond the already-announced signees. Who is going to rebound next year? Maybe Shanks replaces Nash's seven boards per game, but there is still a huge void. My opinion is that at least one, and maybe two underclassmen will not return, and Jones will need to find somebody who can actually rebound, particularly to fill the four spot.

UND gets swept on the road, losing 73-70 at Portland St. Not a good week for UND basketball.
-
I'm not sure I see many more wins on the schedule. I think UND can beat Idaho St., Southern Utah and of course Montana St., all at home, but that may be about it barring a big improvement.
-
Great player, but I considered him to be more of a finesse guy. I'm talking about what UND used to be known for in the 80's and early 90's--guys like Dan Clausen, Kevin Wilson, Dave Vonesh, etc.
-
It seems like it's been a really long time since UND has had a truly physical player at either the 4 or 5 position. You might have to go all the way back to the days of Chad Mustard, and that's been nearly 15 years ago.

Buhr was talented. I think he played at NDSU for a year or so, but I have no idea what became of him after that.
-
My memory of that particular game is pretty hazy, but I do remember the personnel fairly well. Divide County had the Stefonowicz brothers (I played on an intramural team for a few years with Devon at UND) and Scott (or was it Shane?) Molander. In addition to Guldseth, Edinburg actually had four other athletes good enough to have played a sport in college (including the father of the Fargo South RB headed to Minnesota), but no bench at all. Guldseth was just so much better than everybody else, and with a more-than-competent supporting cast, beating them was a very tall task. Hats off to Starkweather for pulling it off in 1987.
-
I still think Scott Guldseth and Edinburg would have won back-to-back titles in 1987 and 1988 if it hadn't been for the huge upset by Starkweather in the 1987 regional.

Gas fell below $2 today in Grand Forks for the first time in years. I never thought I'd see that again.
-
Sounds like he'll be visiting UND, SDSU, Bowling Green and possibly one more school.
-
UND has reportedly offered juco RB Derrick Walker from New Mexico Military Institute.
-
Looks like Keller is actually projected as a TE, even though he played OL and DL in high school. This is per a "Demon Hoops" tweet, as well as the hashtag Maurice used in last night's tweet.
-
Per a Maurice tweet, somebody from Bismarck has committed. Possibly a TE or WR?
-
What's the deal with Coleman? It looks like he didn't play at all last night. Also, it appears Benton hasn't played since the Dickinson St. game. Is he injured, or has it just been coach's decision?

UND has offered safety Bret Verstegen from Kimberly, WI.
-
I wasn't aware of his exact situation, but he's clearly bypassed at least one or two current scholarship players. If it were based purely on merit, he'd be on scholarship next season.
-
I really think Hobaugh has earned a scholarship for next season. I realize there aren't any available on paper barring somebody leaving early, but one way or the other, I think he has to end up with one.
-
I wouldn't put anything past an athletic department dumb enough to buy out a football contract with North Carolina. It must have made Teague sick to watch UNC get taken apart in the bowl game last week by Rutgers.
-
As far as I know, Stefan never was on scholarship, so somebody else would have to leave early in order for another scholarship to become available. Even then, it wouldn't surprise me if Hobaugh would be awarded a scholarship should one become available.
-
They are seniors, but according to rivals they don't have any division I offers at this point.
-
If I'm not mistaken, Zach Zenner and Jake Wieneke each had one division I offer out of high school. I doubt SDSU sniffs the playoffs this year without those two. Those are the types of players UND can hopefully uncover in the future. I feel optimistic that between Momoh, Engwall, Rooney, Santiago, Rodgers and Lawrence, UND has done quite well in MN this year, regardless of who else did or did not offer those kids. The 247 rankings seem to support this opinion: http://247sports.com/Season/2015-Football/CompositeRecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool&State=MN

Sounds like one of the UAB transfers must have committed to UND, per a Maurice tweet.

Best of luck to Hanson. You have to respect any kid who chooses one of the service acadamies.

It was pretty much right now one year ago today that Bubba's hiring was announced. While there have been a few inevitable bumps in the road, I think he and his staff have done a great job so far.
