Per SFI, Wyoming recently offered Momoh.
-
SFI is saying Georges will be a junior, so he may only have two years left.

I really think Knauf got everything out of the 2014 line that was humanly possible. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do with better talent and more experience with which to work.
-
I'm not really qualified to judge the play of individual offensive linemen, but considering Boas started all 12 games this season, I was thinking it might be more likely that Francis slides over to Henson's guard spot for one year, and Boas starts again at center.

I'm starting to wonder if there are going to be any commitments from Wisconsin this year?
-
Maybe not the best indicator, but I don't think he has any UND coaches following him on twitter.
-
Is there any info out there to suggest that there is still mutual interest between UND and Anderson?
-
I would like to see more of the Shanks-Nash-Coleman-Tyler-Hooker lineup. I also think Shields should get more minutes.
-
Tyus Carter has also committed to UND, per SFI.
-
That would be my guess.
-
The kid from Princeton is named Tanner Palmborg, and it sounds like he just committed to UND.

Looks like Tibesar will be OLB coach for the Badgers. Good for him.

It will be interesting to see whether the last two games of 2014 were flukes, or whether they were a sign of things to come for Blackmon. He had a nice return of a field goal block, a fumble recovery and a pick after playing very little for most of the season.
-
I don't necessarily look for huge things from him next year, but he is a good athlete and obviously has very good bloodlines. The thing is, if he is not the answer at the 4, I have no idea who else can possibly fit that bill? And therein lies the problem. Unless a scholarship opens up AND the staff can find a legit rebounder at the 4 spot, it seems all the eggs are pretty much in the Bernstine basket.

Here's an article on Bernstine from when he was a senior in high school two years ago: http://www.denverpost.com/ci_22351784/cherokee-trail-basketball-star-roderick-bernstine-son-former He was apparently listed at 6'6" in high school. I wonder if he really has grown another inch or two? His dad played in the NFL at between 235 and 240 pounds, so hopefully he can fill out to a similar extent in the coming years.
-
Sometimes easier said than done. Especially if a coach's job is potentially on the line. I still maintain that Jones needs to do something to help himself. I'm sure he never figured rebounding would be this much of an issue, and now he needs to make a roster adjustment or two or risk having the same issue again next season.

We'll see. I'm not sure I see the difference between Benton and the situation with Nick Haugen a few years back. I just think there's a difference between pulling a scholarship in the first four years, and not inviting somebody back for a fifth year if he's not going to play. You just can't afford to have many players on scholarship who either aren't ready to play yet, or who clearly never will. The fact of the matter is that Jones knows full well that after probably winning fewer than 10 games this year, he needs to get back at least to .500 next season, or else that could be it for him. Not sure how much improvement is realistic with such a weak rebounding team, minus it's best rebounder by far, at least statistically (Nash). Hopefully Bernstine does make a difference, but at just over 200 pounds, I'm not sure he's necessarily the answer right away. It would be nice to have a stronger player--230 pounds plus--even if he's only 6'5" or 6'6". And to get somebody like that, somebody on the current team would have to go.

The problem is that Hobaugh has surpassed Benton, and Hobaugh isn't even on scholarship. I know it's not necessarily a popular opinion, but I have a philosophical problem with bringing back a fifth-year senior on scholarship if he's not actually going to play, unless it's due to injury. Scholarships are too valuable to use in that regard IMO.
-
I would start with any junior who is hardly playing at all. Particularly a fourth-year junior.
-
Considering how much of a weakness rebounding is right now, and that Hooker will be the leading returning rebounder next season, I'm concerned exactly how this situation is going to get fixed without bringing in at least one more new player beyond the already-announced signees. Who is going to rebound next year? Maybe Shanks replaces Nash's seven boards per game, but there is still a huge void. My opinion is that at least one, and maybe two underclassmen will not return, and Jones will need to find somebody who can actually rebound, particularly to fill the four spot.

UND gets swept on the road, losing 73-70 at Portland St. Not a good week for UND basketball.
-
I'm not sure I see many more wins on the schedule. I think UND can beat Idaho St., Southern Utah and of course Montana St., all at home, but that may be about it barring a big improvement.
-
Great player, but I considered him to be more of a finesse guy. I'm talking about what UND used to be known for in the 80's and early 90's--guys like Dan Clausen, Kevin Wilson, Dave Vonesh, etc.
-
It seems like it's been a really long time since UND has had a truly physical player at either the 4 or 5 position. You might have to go all the way back to the days of Chad Mustard, and that's been nearly 15 years ago.
