  1. The green out wasn't really impressive because of all of the different shades of green out there. If everyone would wear a green jersey, it would look good but that will never happen...
  2. I predict a Friday night win and a Saturday night loss...
  3. This is the statement that just boggles me. You live in America, aren't you already free and independant? How free are you going to be without support from the American goverment? Free to starve, I guess...
  4. ...and those employed by American businesses will have to get green cards, I would guess...
  5. Why not try and win the league and NCAA titles? The season is about gaining momentum for the NCAA tournament. Why not play strong all year instead of having to win out so many games to get into the NCAA tourney?
  6. There needs to be a crying emoticon for this post. It's the fun of the rivalry that brings out that kind of statement from the PA guy. It's not like he was yelling F the Gophers over the intercom. I'm all for a wild and intimidating atmosphere, but the lady that sits behind me really needed to get her mouth washed out with soap on Friday night. Everytime something bad happened regardless of how minor it was, like a bad pass, some kind of profanity came out of her mouth. Normally she is there with her kids and I know there were kids within range of her potty mouth. Maybe if UND played a half decent game, she wouldn't have to swear so much...
  7. Frazee is an OK goalie. If he had to face the onslaught that JPL faced on Friday night from UND, we would have seen Kangas in the net on Friday. That is why UND needs to start getting more shots on net and bombard the goalie! Make thier goalie win the game...
  8. After what I had heard about UM's D coming into this series, I was impressed by how well they played defense as a team! They collapsed around the net and gave UND very little chance to do anything and they shut down the cycle which is usually how UND sets up thier goals by getting the other team out of position. I think this series is going to give UM the boost they need to start the new year. Watch UM get hot now. As for what happens to UND, who knows? Hopefully they got yelled at in the locker room after the game about played a sixty minute game...
  9. Maybe they all went out and got drunk to celebrate thier win...
  10. On the pregame radio broadcast, they speculated that Radke might have been in the line up tonite to add some grit after last nights game. After last night's game, I thought that was a good idea. UM has some big boys out there, we could have used Radke's style of play to rough up UM players. Also, he could have gone out there and beat the crap out of someone and gotten a game misconduct and it wouldn't really hurt UND much. He could possibly take out an important UM player, a player that would probably be more important to UM than Radke is to UND. Also, what does it matter if Radke is suspended for the next game, he probably won't play in it anyways... Radke needs to be in the lineup when we play MSU-Mankato...
  11. It was both nights in this series that UND didn't really get into the game until the third period. On Friday night when I was at the game, I was thinking to myself that it was probably going to be either a 1-0 UND win or a 2-1 UM win. I had a feeling that Oshie was going to get a great goal and I was close because he set up a good one. I was surprised that UND managed to get four goals. With the pro UM reffing, it was very necessary for those goals... Not getting that goal at that time would have completely changed the scope of the game. If that goal doesn't happen, everything changes and maybe UM doesn't get two more goals...
  12. The passing of UND teams has been horrible for years. Do they do passing drills in practice ever?
  13. I don't understand this team. This is the biggest series of the year and the biggest (non playoff) series at the REA since probably the last time UM was here and what does UND do? They come out and play flat for two periods in the first game of the series. They did come out hot on Friday but only for two shifts and the only reason we won that game is because JPL was unbelieveable. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to have as good of a repeat performance tonite, which was probably more to blame on the rest of the team. UM played a very good game all weekend. They should have won both games. I was impressed that every time UND tried to get into the zone that UM usually had four or five guys back and they forced our guys into the corner without getting a shot off or if they did, it was a bad shot! Then when UM is breaking into the UND zone, UND only has two guys back and UM gets a good shot off. UM played great, UND played like garbage. Watching these games makes me wonder how UND was ranked #1 at the start of the season. I guess they have the talent to be ranked that high. It is too bad that talent can't play hard enough to deserve it... edit... I also forgot to rant about shooting the puck... Good things happen when you shoot the puck! You can't score goals if you are chasing the puck around in the corners all night. UND got out shot 15-3 in the first period on Friday night. I think that if this was the IM team of the past few seasons, UM would have at least a four goal lead going into the first period. Start shooting the f'ing puck! Quite trying to make every goal pretty. The goal that was scored when Duncan tossed a backhand at the net and Vande Velde tipped it in is why you shoot the puck! It wasn't a pretty shot but the end result was a goal...
  14. That logo needs a lance though not a sword!
  15. Maybe we can get Idaho State to play in GF in two years for the Potato Bowl?
  16. At the start of the season, I was listening to Lennon talk about advertising and televised games and I believe he stated that he wishes all home games could be on TV. It is huge in recruiting players and in bringing in new fans that will eventually start attending games in person. People watch the games on TV and get excited and then start going to the games live...
  17. I heard on the radio, I believe, that if he was diagnosed with this ten years ago he would have had to undergo chemo but because of medical advances over the past decade it is treatable with a once a day pill. The doctor that was talking about it called it a 'wonderpill' because it was so effective...
  18. I hope Kozek picks it up next year. I thought he showed some good potential in his first year but this year he didn't have much of an impact on the games. If he was playing with an injury, that would certainly explain it though...
  19. I don't think all or our team came out to play 100%. They certainly played better at the start then they did last year against BC and against Michigan, but they were not firing on all cylinders tonite. I feel bad for Porter, Lameroux, and Genoway. Those guys played thier hearts out. There were other guys that did too, but there were others that did not. Lameroux did everything he could to win the game for UND. That save he made was unreal but in reality, he should not have had to make saves like that. He played as best he could to win the game. Genoway did the same! The guy blocked a shot with his neck and didn't miss a shift! That's playing to win? Porter was a man on a mission. He was at times on too much of a mission with the penalties he took, but I don't fault him for those penalties. He was out there to set a tone with BC. These guys went out of thier way to win... Where was our third and fourth lines? Where was Miller, Kozek, and Fabian? I think the two week break hurts ND. They seem to lose focus over that time. When it comes down to it. BC was by far the better team last night and they deserved to win. If not for Lameroux's outstanding performance, it would have been a rout!
  20. I'm shocked that he won it! I certainly believe he deserved it though! I had a bad feeling because he was playing for UND and going against some good competition (I figured the ND guy would get it) that he would not win. For once a UND player gets the respect the he deserves from the Hobey panel Good job Ryan!
  21. ND deserved to lose that game. They got completely outplayed for most of it. BC wanted to win more and came out to play that way. This was like watching the game against MN in the Final Five. The opposing team controlled the game though we had our chances. That was certainly some moronic playing at the end of the game. They take a stupid penalty and then score a shorthanded goal only to take another stupid penalty (which was probably only a penalty because Finley is tall and the BC player is short) and give up a stupid power play goal. Then they give up the freakin' empty netter... WTF are they doing out there?
  22. wow, that gave me a good chuckle!!!
  23. Is the BC/Miami game done yet? I've been tracking it at ESPNU though it has been stuck at 3:11 for a while now...
