  1. Tom Harmon,,, Mark Harmon's dad. People forget that the actor, Mark Harmon played QB for UCLA.
  2. Denver's D and offensive line p'd me off yesterday. The only good thing on the scoreboard this weekend was the Friday UND/Miami score. Other than that, I wish I would have deleted my ESPN app....

I foolishly thought they'd win fairly easily. I should have known better. Just another nail in the coffin of Muss's coaching career at UND.
  5. No only that, but I believe Goon just made a species of duck extinct! Way to go Goon!
  6. My Pokes get stomped at home by the sheep. Then, already knowing that the football team and hockey team lost yesterday, I find out that the women's hockey team and volleyball team got beat. I'm tellin' ya, that was a bad, bad Saturday on the scoreboard. (At least I had fun in Laramie..but time to get rid of the Boot sig photo..)
  7. Got up early, heading to Laramie. Wyoming's QB, Brett Smith is #3 in total yards per game. Colorado State is second to last in pass defense in FBS.... It could get ugly... The drive for five... Beat the sheep! We're going to have fun today. Going with a CSU alum...she'll wear her CSU stuff...I'll be cowboy ready with my pokes gear. (UW is my grad school..)
  8. Very good win. Good opportunity to make a statement tomorrow night.
  9. 28-17 UND over Sack State... (If they had a good pass rush, wouldn't that be a great nickname...)
  10. I would much rather see a 4x4 ten minute overtime than a shootout. I'd rather see team play win it on the ice than a shootout. However, I will admit that the shootout is exciting and fun to watch. I just don't think it should decide a game.
  11. You never know about these non-revenue sports. If nothing else, they can become revenue neutral... http://www.coloradoan.com/article/20131014/SPORTS0203/310140037/Colorado-State-volleyball-team-moves-up-No-12-poll-23-RPI After CSU drew 4,801 fans for Saturday’s victory over Boise State — 10th-largest in program history — CSU jumped up one spot, to No. 7, for national attendance averages. The Rams are averaging 3,146 fans per match, which would be a program record
  12. I'll tell ya what's bothering me now.. Watching the Jacksonville Jaguars hang in there with the Broncos. Double WTH??
  13. My cable company isn't showing the HD version of Channel 4 out of Denver. Therefore, I have to watch the Broncos game in old fashioned 20th century vision. No wide screen.. WTH???
  14. I forgot to put in my prediction earlier. 2-2 ties, but UND will win the shootout that doesn't count... Whew....I hope I did that in time..

Think of it this way. EWU won by enough to make them happy. Screw that. No moral victories. UND lost by three TDs. Fourth straight homecoming loss. Get rid of Muss at the end of the year. Clean house. Start fresh. Pay for a real coach or expect mediocrity.
  16. I think this bears discussion. Are UND and FU going too far with spending on athletics? Personally, I see it as a marketing tool and hopefully as the programs gain more success, more outside revenue will come in to support the athletic budgets. But, I can see why those would argue that it is a waste of money. http://www.prairiebizmag.com/event/article/id/16327/ All told, 47 percent of UND athletic revenues in 2012 came through subsidies, according to USA Today data. At NDSU, that was 43 percent. But as collegiate athletics’ budgets have ballooned across the nation, the portion of the tab two universities pick up to pay for college sports isn’t just the norm. They’re some of the most self-sufficient programs among their peers. The 74 other programs like UND and NDSU – Division I schools with teams in the smaller Football Championship Subdivision – that reported information to USA Today received nearly 70 percent of their revenues from their school and students, on average. Only four schools relied less on subsidies than NDSU. UND was just behind, at No. 7. “There is no FCS program that’s self-supporting, and my guess will ever be self-supporting. It’s just not the model that FCS will be able to withstand,” said Kyle Moats, the athletic director at Missouri State University. - See more at: http://www.prairiebizmag.com/event/article/id/16327/#sthash.FIukGBGr.dpuf
  17. UND 65-36... oh, that's weekend shots on goal vs. Vermont. EWU clobbers the leaderless UND football team 52-14.
  18. Uninformed me here... The shootout was set up to happen before the game? Was this for a bit of practice for UND? Just wondering...
  19. True... But, my sweaty old Broncos tshirt doesn't seem to be doing the job today... damn!
  20. Crap! Totally spaced this game. out. Gotta hang up my Sioux hockey player ornaments by my fireplace or they may lose. (Not that I'm superstitious...oh, no...)

Orange beer? Sounds like Sunshine Wheat with a couple of slices of orange? They try to do that in Northern Colorado...I prefer lemon slices with wheat beer... That snowstorm just grazed us, headed north to Laramie and Cheyenne...further north too from what I heard.
