Well, at least when they applied to get in the Big Sky Conference, they got in. The College of Home Economics didn't, did they?

If their receivers aren't better than last year, they might. That QB was more accurate later in the year, but I'm not very confident in his arm strength. That's just my perspective, and I don't get a great amount of info in Fort Collins. Plus, I'm no expert at all. I'd like to hear from WyoBisonman on this.

I read that earlier today. They will run the ball a lot on UND. I'm curious to see if they air it out more if they get a good lead. Their qb seemed to play better later in the season. Passing game is a bit suspect st best. Also...their receivers coach was apparently let go. It seems to go beyond players not progressing...don't think he was exactly supportive of Bohl. Last year their secondary was slow, slow, slow. Be interesting to see if UND can throw on them. Yarborough is one bad ass D end...and they're better across the line this year too. I look forward to it. Cheering UND against my other school. Go Sioux! Then the next week I'll cheer the Pokes.

I don't disagree with you. But, the reality is that it is gone. I have enough Fighting Sioux gear for the rest of my life. This generation deserves a nickname. Time to choose one and let the school, the fans, the athletes, the athletic department move on.

I agree. Obviously, we both like the choice of Roughriders. I kind of think that if enough people rally around one nickname, it might make enough noise for the Kelley administration to realize either that name is chosen, or you will be forced to stay with North Dakota if you don't try to shove a stupid name like Sundogs down the stakeholders throats. I think if they choose Sundogs, all Hell will break loose. So, Roll Ridas!!

Always the biggest game of the year in the past. I can't imagine we won't see dozens of viewing parties all over the US for this game.

If there was a real vote with true stakeholders, I believe Roughriders would easily win against any two other options among the seven. That includes no nickname. However, that may not happen. We're at the mercy of the committee. Hopefully, they are staying in touch with the stakeholders. Go Ridas!

North Dakota adopted the flag from the 1st North Dakota Volunteer Infantry that fought in the Philippine American war in 1899. The Roughriders probably had the flag first, then the 1st ND Volunteer Infantry adopted the same insignia.
