  1. Oh yeah, that's Ed Schultz getting that nickname, "Mad Dog" from that game. He said, "I'm mad as a dog!" talking about some Wisconsin fans, then said he was going to bop that bozo! After that, he'd walk up the steps to the announcer's booth at the old REA and we'd chant, "Mad dog! mad dog! mad dog!" Yeah, he didnt like that... Well, it was almost as fun as the "Adelson, Adelson, Adelson....SUCKS!" chant for Fargo's channel 4 sportscaster Jim Adelson. We didn't like the Fargo media coming in and announcing the UND hockey games. (I especially hated listening to Adelson say the "ball" was being passed between players during a UND hockey game!) Pretty provincial attitude, but that's the way it was.
  2. What? Do you miss that boy?
  3. My brother is a big Sioux fan and goes to Force games from time to time. He really enjoys them.
  4. Had to look that up. Hadn't seen that movie in years. And, I think you're right.
  5. I agree. Would be great to compete for FCS year in and out. I just wonder what they would do if FBS did a legit playoff.
  6. I believe that eventually, and sooner than later, the FBS will go to a limited playoff and then expand it over the years. Where does that put the FCS? Just another I-AA designation, that's where.
  7. Why not? You seem to waste your time on a lot of other crap, just add this to the mix.
  8. Oh, I love that one. I've been pushing for the "University of North Dakota Screaming Weasels". Oh, to hope and dream! However, because I have decided on this board I will never use the "S" word anymore for UND, I will also add a boycott of the "B" word for little brother, NDSU to the south of the flagship university. After three years (or if the S name comes back), I will choose a new nickname for NDSU. And, it won't be pretty!
  9. I wore my Vikings sweatshirt and watched both games. I wanted the Ravens to win. I wanted the 49ers to win. I doomed them both with that stupid sweatshirt! (Now watch the Vikings trade Jared Allen for the multi-fumbling 49er kick returner!)
  10. You're right. They blew that game. I was thinking that once gain, a no call on the hold or pass interference near the end zone on that last Ravens drive. It WAS beyond 5 yards. But, they would blown it anyway... Here is to the NFC champion taking the Pats out!
  11. Jodcon, That is insane. I sent it to a few friends. Already getting "OMG!" responses...
  12. Back on track: http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/daniel-gross/north-dakota-spurred-energy-ag-boom-3-2-122815061.html More info on the boom for the outside world. I really wonder about the long term effect. Will these short term residents for $$$ stay for the long term? I'm sure some will.
  13. Well, when their shift is finished at whatever fast food joint they are working tonight, they'll go home, break open a bag of Cheetos, pull the top off their Mountain Dew and spend hours trying to understand it. I tried. But, it probably won't help.
  14. Let me interpret this for our friends at the Ag College: "UND your big brother do good. The Ag College do bad. It sad time for you people now. But, it better cuz you won at the football! Yay you! " Just doing this as a public service. No thanks are necessary!
  15. I thought so. And so, so, so over-dramatic. I thought they were about to introduce Jesus Christ himself!
  16. I hated it. That intro sucked IMHO. But, glad you liked it. (Maybe I am too old school...)
  17. If this lawsuit would run its course much quicker, then I believe the holdouts will come on board to take control and change the name. I wish the SL tribe and the other luck, but I doubt it will be settled in the favor of the Fighting Sioux nickname. In the meantime, we are are stuck in a holding pattern.
  18. Rumble em, young man, rumble em! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6xb-lejyRk&feature=share
  19. It could have been worse if the officiating would have been on the field watching the game. The fumble that never counted. The "roughing the passer" call. Pathetic. Luckily for the Giants, they never needed those calls to be corrected.
  20. I do not believe that the nickname issue is going to affect alumni donations at all. It's the school that benefits, not the nickname. I believe that even Ralph would have contributed knowing the position that the NCAA ultimately took toward UND. (Yeah, Ralph probably would have given the SL tribe money to keep up the fight too!)
  21. That's why I said in name only. It is not the highest level of college football. That is a fact. However, it is, in name a Division I championship. Just not the highest level of college football. Where, UND Hockey has attained the championship of the highest level of hockey seven times. Again, congrats to NDSU. It is a great accomplishment that I hope UND can copy in a very short time.
  22. The commentary between you and BisonMac is excellent. Great information.
