  1.

NDSU had and still has way more "big game" experience than UND's young team did. My comment was based on the simple fact that UND was a way better team at the end of the 2015 season (3 game winning streak) versus the beginning of the season when they played NDSU.

And that 3 game winning streak had nothing to do with the competition? UND is in a great spot. They play a power running game in a conference where teams have to gear their defenses against a spread offense.

  2. Its very simple, simple man.  Ndsu COULD NOT RUN on und. First half stats were bad other then Carson's arm.   All that talk of their great o line and a "big fluffy" team controls them. Controls them!!!! Carson was sacked numerous times or had to run for his life, not to mention no rb had more then 5 yards running.   There was a 40ish yard run that really inflated the final stats but that will happen.   I will repeat this, no team in fcs will be able to run on und.  Their extremely young secondary was getting better towards seasons end.   Still a work in progress but getting better.

You have to be kidding about santiago!  Wow!!  Pound for pound the strongest guy on the team and his stiff arm sits LBs down.

I mentioned I was impressed with your front.  That was early for und.  Once they plugged in true fresh Grady and did some shuffling, the line was fantastic.

You are right. If there was a rematch, Santiago would run for 300 yards and NDSU would be lucky to keep their rushing yards in positive territory. And with Stick at QB, they wouldn't be able to complete a pass. I am composing my letter to the selection commitee right now thanking them for keping UND out of the playoffs. I am trying to think of a reason to tell the commitee to keep them out next year, but it may be tough with UND going 11-0 with 11 shutouts with that defense.

  3. Faison was at the basketball game.

Sitting in a suite alone like he was at Scheels Arena last year during the NCAA regionals? My buddy told me to look up in the suite, Faison was sitting with all of his friends. He was the only one in the suite.

  4.

Your right, ndsu rushing offense had 42 car 115 yards 2.7 ave  zero tds.   So yes, statistically you're right, the worst. Even with carson ndsu had there 3rd worst offensive output of the year.  Santiago had 4 carries, ndsu never had the pleasure to witness the best back in fcs.

In case you haven't  noticed, when NDSU gets a big lead, they get conservative and runnthe ball even when teams have 8 or 9 in the box. See the UND game, SDSU game among others. They like to run clock when their defense has proven rhe ability to completely shut down the other teams offense. UND.

Santiago may be the best back in the FCS when he has a clean hole or a clear path to the outside, but he isn't breaking many tackles or running over people. When you are dodging 2 or 3 d-lineman like he was against NDSU, it is tough to get going. I don't see why a rematch would be any different. NDSU's front seven manhandled your o-line. It would happen again.

  5. We are proposing a draft to me faison at an emergency meeting tonite

My guess is you will have to meet him in East Lansing. Everytime I hear Hennesey broadcasting a hockey game I hear him saying something about Faison and his wife being on the trip with them.  You may have to tell him the final score of the UNI game. I'm not sure he realizes there was a game.

  6. agreed.  To not take any credit as a coach when you get run off the court in the first 10 minutes is chicken !@#$. He has to go.  It's embarrassing.  Lots of very good D2 coaches in the area looking for an opportunity.

Walthal from MSUM would be a great hire for UND, but I think time is running out until he gets a D1 offer. He has D1 experience at Iowa. I personally hope you don't get him, but he would be turn your current talent into a top 2 BSC team immediately.

  7. Jones said it was all on the players, as they practiced against the scout team running a UNI offense.

Paul Ralston learned his lesson though. How many times did he back up Jones and say he was right, they practiced against the UNI offense with their scout team Friday afternoon. I'm sure they won on Friday and should have won today too. No more suspensions from Faison for him.

  8. give jones a raise and extension ..lucky to have him...

I agree. Jones coaches the team to a National Championship every year, its just his players that ruin his great coaching. Just ask him. I would personally love to see him get an extension, but he should be fired before the end of the season. Don't give him any reason to keep him, like maybe finishing around .500 in a league you should be doing better in. His interview after the game should at least give Faison a reason to talk to him. You can't blame everything on your players.

  9. Good Morning captain obvious. Yes, UND's win against Wyoming was similar to most of the NDSU's FBS wins (minus the K State win).

Yes, UND should've been selected for the playoffs this year and no not the worst oversight by the committee ever

Yes, if UND wins 8 games next year that gives them a better shot at making the playoffs compared to 7 wins.

Did you know that bannana's are yellow, tomatoes are red and your post on this forum are as wanted as hernia surgery?

I had hernia surgery last year. Felt much better afterward, so I guess some hernia surgeries are wanted. Some bananas and tomatoes are green.

Point proven. The only FBS win counted as a good FBS win by Sioux fans is the K-State win.

  10. Breunig is very good, probably is favorite to win Big Sky POY.

Personally I buy Weber as the best in the Sky.

Yes, Breunig is very good. Outside of Iowa State, I don't think NDSU wil see a big man that good the rest of the year. I know Weber is traditionally the calss of the BSC, but I see they were handled pretty easily by SD State earlier this year, but SDSU is very good this year.

  11. As big of a fan as I am of college hoops, I admit I don't keep up with und as much as I should.  I follow enough to consider myself dangerous.

The one glaring weakness to me seems to be defense.  Coach jones doesn't preach it.  Never had that big in the middle that could alter or block shots or simply be "that" presence.   Plenty of guard play but no big play again.

Saw Montana play NDSU on Wednesday. Montana has a big man that is very good (and very strong). I think he will be hardbfor the UND big men to handle. But if they can contain him, Montana has next to nothing to go along with him. UND will have a major advantage in all 4 of the other positions. And if Montana is really the favorite to win the league, it looks pretty good for UND tommake some noise in the conference.

  12. Actually, I Would say UND's Wyoming win is similar to NDSU's Kansas, Ball State and maybe Colorado State wins. But no most UND fans did not give NDSU any credit for those wins.

I agree UND should have been selected in front of EIU, but I don't think it is the biggest slight in the history of the D1-AA playoff selection. They put themselves in the position of being one of the last one orbtwo in or one of the last one or two out. From there it is a crap shoot.

You need to win at least 8 games next year to take it out of the comittees hands. And looking at your schedule, the only possible losses are Bowling Green, Southern Utah and Northern Arizona, and the last two of those are at home. You should not have more than 2 losses on the schedule next year. The top 3 schools in the BSC (UM, EW and Port St) are not on the schedule. You better not have 4 losses with that schedule, or you may be left out again.

  13. arguing the irony of NDSU fans taking the time to come to this board telling is our FBS win this year doesn't count for anything based on record of opponent.

The real irony is fans on this board discounting every NDSU FBS win (even the K-State win) and trumpeting the UND win over a Wyoming team that is quite possibly the worst FBS team in the country this year. Fans on this board have been talking for years about how NDSU just knows how to schedule FBS teams at their weakest point and those wins mean nothing.

  14. ndsu has one nice fbs win .... Kansas st... That's it!!!  And your right, ndsu did catch them in the their first game with an entirely new roster.  Also,  Unds roster is mostly freshmen and true sophomores, just like wyoming.  Unds true freshman tore up wyoming!   In fact, the score of the that game doesn't indicate how easy und manhandled them.  Very one sided.   So you have any other nonsense to bring to to this board???  Actually one more question... why are you even here????

I just know it wasn't quite as easy as NDSU manhandled their opponent in the Fargodome on Sept 19th.

  15. Lets recap:

2014: NDSU fans " you guys have zero FBS wins, we are 5-2 against the FBS"

2015: NDSU fans " your win is against a crappy FBS team and doesn't count, it's not against p5 powerhouses Minnesota, Iowa State and Kansas"

Can't wait to see how the years of the bar rasing goes.

Actually NDSU's record against FBS teams is 8-3, 5-2 against P5 conference schools, but who is counting?

  16. Ha!!!  Again very funny. Those "p5" wins were against garbage!!  Combined 9-39 records..... Impressive???  Kansas?  Perennial dweller.  Minnesota when you played them, they were complete garbage.  Kill has recently has changed that.  Iowa st?? Ok!??  If you call those "nice" wins because they're p5, congrats!?!!?  And you lost to a non p5 wyoming.  Ha

I know I have heard it before. NDSU just knows how to schedule garbage FBS teams that have an entirely new roster. Not everybody can have a win against a Wyoming team with 3/4 of their roster freshmen on their resume as their "signature win".

By the way, I'm sure Iowa will be losing all 22 starters this year so when the Bison play a respectable game against them next year they planned it that way. And in 2020 when they play Oregon, they will have an entirely new roster.

  17. It's definitely something that needs to be watched this season, that's for sure.

Are you serious? From the outside I think Brewster is a very good coach. There is no possible way he is on a luke warm plate considering the leash your men's coach has been given.

  18. No, I don't read the Herald. Did he really say those things?

That is what Tom Miller and Wayne Nelson are reporting, but they may be a bit slanted in their reporting, as it is the Herald after all. I hope the Herald hired someone to clean up all of tears on the floor of Wayne's office. I haven't seen this much crying from a reporter since PA after the VIkings Conf Championship game against the Saints a few years ago.
