Santiago is just fine where he is at, many running backs more deserving of first and second team, ratelle and deluca are the ones snubbed in this stats class!
Santiago could have been 2nd team RB. But there are not 12 better LB's in the FCS than DeLuca. For him not to be on any of the top 3 teams is a joke and makes you wonder about this list.

Ball St is FBS and Muncie is not much better than Terre Haute. Ind St has more support than E Michigan, and E Mich hasn't been turned out of the MAC yet.
If the MVC and Wichita want to go FBS, there will take a couple of teams from Texas to enlarge their recruiting population for students and athletes. NDSU simply doesn't do crap for them. Wichita St has a lot of the same academic attributes as UND, namely aviation and entrepreneurial studies. The Koch brothers have pumped a lot of money into Wichita St and they will probably bankroll football too. Wichita St needs more programs in the MVC that are south (Lamar, Sam Houston, Incarnate Word, ORU, UTArlington, UALR will have to do) or west (like Denver, and NMSU), just like UND has a broad footprint west.
Eastern Michigan is stuck in the FBS in the MAC. If they were FCS today they wouldn't be contemplating a move up to FBS. They would probably move down if they could.

Then he should have just said so. A lot of our fans never really warmed up to him anyway.
As a ply by play guy, Michaels is head and shoulders better than Sweeney. And listening to him do a few Sioux FB games last year, you couldn't tell he was an NDSU guy.

why play for the bison over another G5 team? They have proven nothing at the FBS level because they have not played a full season. The bison are at the top of the FCS and therefore can get the best recruits at that level and sometime steal some good G5 level recruits. How do they not lose their advantage if they move up?
How about start with national recognition, facilities, game day atmosphere, coaching staff, etc. NDSU's football offices, film room, etc are better than most G5 schools. The gameday atmosphere at most G5 schools is more like most of the FCS than like NDSU's. Ask the ESPN annoucers that have done games in the Fargodome and at a MAC school and ask which atmosphere is better.

Indiana St has much more developed football revenue and more potential than La-Monroe, which has the smallest enrollment for a public FBS school. Indiana State will do whatever it takes to stay in the MVC. If it means they have to put up end zone portable bleachers for a time, it will be done.
We know it hurts bizon pride to be a non-valued member of the future MVC. Learn to deal with it now. Wichita St gets who and what they want in that conference, and they don't want to no bizon or anything Dakota.
Would you please share with us your connection to the commissioner of every D1 conference and every D1 athletic director in the country? Have you been to Terre Haute? I have many times, Have family there. There is NO support for ISU football. The city is a run down, boarded up slum with no money. Unless they can get Larry Bird to open his checkbook, which we hear he has not been willing to do for the football program.
Wichita State would really be happy being grouped with UT-A, Lamar and SHSU? You are kidding right? Wichita State would add FB and jump to the MWC before they would agree to this. MWC would be vastly superior in FB and superior in BB than a MVC without WSU, Creighton, etc.

Know some posters can't handle this, but here is how the MVC would handle going FBS:
MVC North
Drake
N Iowa
I'LL St
Bradley
S Ill
Loyola
Ind St
EvansvillE
MVC South
Mo St
Wichita St
Oral Roberts
Denver
UT-Arlington
NMSU
Sam Houston St
Lamar
MVC gets to nine FBS teams with WSU adding football, taking NMSU, upgrading Lamar and Sam Houston St
Every new team in the south would jump at the opportunity.
The Slummit would be decimated.
NDSU, SDSU, and USD have standing offers from the Big Sky, which will take its financially able teams to FBS.
Omaha and W Ill would have to beg the OVC. Omaha might get in the MVC if Evansville defects to the Horizon or OVC.
IUPUI and IPFW would get ASUN offers as a pair.
Yeah, Indiana State can't afford an FCS football team. They will NOT be going FBS anytime soon. They have no attendance in a horrible stadium in a run-down poor city with no support for their football program. You better try again SV.

Make free throws and you win. Simple.
Actually if both teams make free throws UND loses by double digits.
And as much time as Jones spends on the court, it is amazing he is able to finish games. He should be getting t'd up for being on the court, even when the ball is on UND's side of the court.

You you guys feel better? Feel like real experts now. Super clever? Like you've just inserted some relevance in your life? I'm hopeful you are all superstars in whatever part of life you may walk. Pathetic creatures many of you. Anonymously taking potshots like a real man. Yea, your boss might be making you eat a $hit sandwich, your wife might be ragging on you about not paying the cable bill or your kid might be flunking a math class but damnit, I am a real shot caller on a fan forum.
A few here I respect. JDub has good objective game. Most of ya, want nothing more than abject failure. It fills your life up with some kind of bizarre cause. That you matter somehow. You can deny it all you want. I know better. I know your type. Deep down, you want a rifle job against Bradley this weekend or NDSU the following. You could care less the impact it may have on some student-athletes. Why? Because you want to matter....on a fan forum.
Actually I think most of the critics would like someone competent to lead the UND mens basketball program. Someone that can develop the talent he recruits. Someone that doesn't throw his own players under the bus if a game doesn't turn out like the coach thinks it should. Someone that takes some responsibility if things don't go right. Someone that doesn't whine and cry and gets a commentator suspended because he said something the coach didn't like.
I think for the most part the critics want better for the student athletes in the program, and they don't see a competent leader of young men in Mr. Jones. Now go back to your penthouse, eat your steak and lobster, go to bed with your beautiful wife Kate Upton and have you chauffeur take you to work in the morning. It sounds like you have a perfect life we all should envy.

That escalated quickly.....
Yes it did, From a 5 point lead with 8 minutes to a 20 point final. The game was closer than the final score would indicate. It doesn't help that they don't have Kory Brown and Jacobson played only 4 minutes in the first half because of fouls. They aren't nearly deep enough to overcome that. When Brian Ishola is playing meaningful minutes in any games much less a game against a godd Big 12 team, you have problems.

But you are playing Iowa State. Huge, huge difference between that and some NAIA school with less than 600 students.
#15 in the country and #5 in the country, not that much difference.

Can I find that game on Me TV?
Can I find that game on Me TV?
No, they are on the road.

Hanging tough so far with the #15 team in the NAIAtion. Could be one to remember.......
If it makes you fell better the Bison are losing by 2 with 11 minutes left tonight too...

NDSU had and still has way more "big game" experience than UND's young team did. My comment was based on the simple fact that UND was a way better team at the end of the 2015 season (3 game winning streak) versus the beginning of the season when they played NDSU.
And that 3 game winning streak had nothing to do with the competition? UND is in a great spot. They play a power running game in a conference where teams have to gear their defenses against a spread offense.
-
Its very simple, simple man. Ndsu COULD NOT RUN on und. First half stats were bad other then Carson's arm. All that talk of their great o line and a "big fluffy" team controls them. Controls them!!!! Carson was sacked numerous times or had to run for his life, not to mention no rb had more then 5 yards running. There was a 40ish yard run that really inflated the final stats but that will happen. I will repeat this, no team in fcs will be able to run on und. Their extremely young secondary was getting better towards seasons end. Still a work in progress but getting better.
You have to be kidding about santiago! Wow!! Pound for pound the strongest guy on the team and his stiff arm sits LBs down.
I mentioned I was impressed with your front. That was early for und. Once they plugged in true fresh Grady and did some shuffling, the line was fantastic.
You are right. If there was a rematch, Santiago would run for 300 yards and NDSU would be lucky to keep their rushing yards in positive territory. And with Stick at QB, they wouldn't be able to complete a pass. I am composing my letter to the selection commitee right now thanking them for keping UND out of the playoffs. I am trying to think of a reason to tell the commitee to keep them out next year, but it may be tough with UND going 11-0 with 11 shutouts with that defense.

Faison was at the basketball game.
Sitting in a suite alone like he was at Scheels Arena last year during the NCAA regionals? My buddy told me to look up in the suite, Faison was sitting with all of his friends. He was the only one in the suite.
-
Your right, ndsu rushing offense had 42 car 115 yards 2.7 ave zero tds. So yes, statistically you're right, the worst. Even with carson ndsu had there 3rd worst offensive output of the year. Santiago had 4 carries, ndsu never had the pleasure to witness the best back in fcs.
In case you haven't noticed, when NDSU gets a big lead, they get conservative and runnthe ball even when teams have 8 or 9 in the box. See the UND game, SDSU game among others. They like to run clock when their defense has proven rhe ability to completely shut down the other teams offense. UND.
Santiago may be the best back in the FCS when he has a clean hole or a clear path to the outside, but he isn't breaking many tackles or running over people. When you are dodging 2 or 3 d-lineman like he was against NDSU, it is tough to get going. I don't see why a rematch would be any different. NDSU's front seven manhandled your o-line. It would happen again.

We are proposing a draft to me faison at an emergency meeting tonite
My guess is you will have to meet him in East Lansing. Everytime I hear Hennesey broadcasting a hockey game I hear him saying something about Faison and his wife being on the trip with them. You may have to tell him the final score of the UNI game. I'm not sure he realizes there was a game.
-
agreed. To not take any credit as a coach when you get run off the court in the first 10 minutes is chicken !@#$. He has to go. It's embarrassing. Lots of very good D2 coaches in the area looking for an opportunity.
Walthal from MSUM would be a great hire for UND, but I think time is running out until he gets a D1 offer. He has D1 experience at Iowa. I personally hope you don't get him, but he would be turn your current talent into a top 2 BSC team immediately.
-
Jones said it was all on the players, as they practiced against the scout team running a UNI offense.
Paul Ralston learned his lesson though. How many times did he back up Jones and say he was right, they practiced against the UNI offense with their scout team Friday afternoon. I'm sure they won on Friday and should have won today too. No more suspensions from Faison for him.
-
give jones a raise and extension ..lucky to have him...
I agree. Jones coaches the team to a National Championship every year, its just his players that ruin his great coaching. Just ask him. I would personally love to see him get an extension, but he should be fired before the end of the season. Don't give him any reason to keep him, like maybe finishing around .500 in a league you should be doing better in. His interview after the game should at least give Faison a reason to talk to him. You can't blame everything on your players.
-
Good Morning captain obvious. Yes, UND's win against Wyoming was similar to most of the NDSU's FBS wins (minus the K State win).
Yes, UND should've been selected for the playoffs this year and no not the worst oversight by the committee ever
Yes, if UND wins 8 games next year that gives them a better shot at making the playoffs compared to 7 wins.
Did you know that bannana's are yellow, tomatoes are red and your post on this forum are as wanted as hernia surgery?
I had hernia surgery last year. Felt much better afterward, so I guess some hernia surgeries are wanted. Some bananas and tomatoes are green.
Point proven. The only FBS win counted as a good FBS win by Sioux fans is the K-State win.

Breunig is very good, probably is favorite to win Big Sky POY.
Personally I buy Weber as the best in the Sky.
Yes, Breunig is very good. Outside of Iowa State, I don't think NDSU wil see a big man that good the rest of the year. I know Weber is traditionally the calss of the BSC, but I see they were handled pretty easily by SD State earlier this year, but SDSU is very good this year.

Yet other UNI fans tweeted about how well they were treated by Bison fans at the game this weekend. Perhaps the UNI fan that was treated badly instigated it with bad behavior of there own? I think I may have heard of some Gopher hockey fans being treated poorly by UND hockey fans in the past. Hard to beleive you could find an unhappy fan of a losing team.
