who are they going to beat in the Summit?
Denver is basically MSU Moorhead from last year. They may be beatable. They may even beat the Bison once. NDSU always has a night or two where they can lose to anyone. I say the UND men win 2 to 4 Summit games. Probably more than your women.

I think you have found a very good, if not great, football coach. Not sure about either basketball coach. Honestly, both teams that played in Grand Forks today are middle of the pack NSIC teams. If there is much D1 talent on either squad, it doesn't look like the coaches are getting it out of the players.

Among other things. CHOKE!
I'm just glad I don't have to watch another Bison game this year if they are all like that. Extremely embarrassing. But for a fan base that has never won a D natty ad has 2 D1 playoff wins, It is rather telling there seems to be more joy over the Bison losing than disappointment over your team losing. There couldn't be more of a gap between expectations between the 2 programs.

I was just in the car and had the Fan on in Fargo. I think Jack Michael’s fill in just said the Hawks have 20 turnovers at the half today. Went from a 7 point lead after 1 quarter to an 11 point deficit at the half.

Hit his hard and alot, even late if you have too, get in his head say stuff to him. If he steps out of the pocket he needs to be thrown to the ground every play.
Problem is Payton is bigger and stronger than 3/4’s of the guys trying to hit him. Jerry on the other hand…

Agreed. Even if NDSU loses this game there is a very good chance they are still the 1 seed.
Possibly 2 if Montana goes undefeated. NDSU isn't losing to UNI or St. Thomas. An 11-1 NDSU team with the loss to a ranked team will be a top 2 seed.

This years team 31 27 win
‘last weeks team 38 17 loss
F'N Hawks will have to score 40 to win this one. Payton and his receivers and tight ends will expose UND's coverage on the back end. UND will score points, just don't think they can score enough to keep up with Payton.

NDSU is playing for home field advantage in the playoffs and to get the first goal of the season which is a conference title.
Even if NDSU loses this game they will be a 1 or 2 seed and have home field throughout the playoffs. And they have a share of the conference title locked up.

Unfortunately if you are coaching mid-major basketball in these times, you aren’t recruiting the right players if you are just getting kids that are staying 4 or 5 years no matter what. You need kids talented enough to move on after a couple of years and just hope you can keep most of them. NIL money, even just a small amount in WBB will help keep them. The good thing is there should be more talented high school kids available for the mid majors if the high majors are taking transfers rather than high school kids.

Go F'N Hawks. I hope they blow out the Tommie's and their holier than thou facade. They are the most arrogant school in the Summit. They can't go to the Big East soon enough for me.

Not really any surprises. Continued insane growth in Fargo area, continued steady growth in the Bismarck area, then likely oil dependent growth in Williston, Dickinson and Minot. Essentially stagnant in Grand Forks, and stagnant to slow decline in Devils Lake and Jamestown areas.
It shows Cass County population of 194,000 in 2025 and the actual estimates for 2024 show a little over 200,000 already. These 2050 plan may be a bit low the way it looks.

Recruiting even high regarded recruits are still crap shoot unless your big time FBS schools even then many fail to make grade. We from outside don’t Know how these quarterbacks are performing and time effort they are putting in and they have tremendous amount athletic ability but now requires mental ability to understand offenses and defense do it on quick basis. This requires time varies from player to player.Romfo has had to show this because being walk on from small school behind of number of highly recruited players still to be considered shows he has ability to play the position. Second he has had to do this with two different offensive coordinators. Finally Jerry may eventually win this position but many of you forget here is Jerry is still only freshman I don’t see to many freshman playing significant minutes playing time for young quarterbacks is starting when they are sophomores. Trey should have been one getting playing time this year but he chose to leave and find position he would get more playing time this told me he probably going down division to get this and he didn’t think he could be starting quarterback. NDSU quarterback Cam Miller has been exception to this but look he is being considered For NFL again in there recent condition. I would like for us recruit NFL caliber quarterback but we need to reach next level where players of that level would consider coming here. I even think that NDSU may not be able to recruit that level talent now because FCS and FBS have separated because of money flowing to FBS. Even if FCS team does recruit player of that level he will be scooped up by FBS with money they can offer players today.
The problem with this team wasn’t on the offense this year but the defense side we had at beginning of year when everyone was healthy at best average defense. There are number of good defense players but just not enough of them. We need to recruit bigger up front people like we have the offensive side. Second we also need faster and quicker people on backside and outside plus having more depth. The offense needs to improve also with faster and quicker people on receiving end 75% of receiving was dependent on Boe. We also need to have tight ends that can be offensive threat. The change in FBS roster sizes I believe is going to be opportunity for UND to build program through transfers this coming year. Second FCS is basically coming down to Valley and Big Sky conferences. The majority of FCS teams are not going to fund support football to level of these two conferences especially top of both these conferences. The next several years are going to be interesting where all this shakes out.The kid backing up Cam Miller right now, Nathan Hayes, is 6’4, very athletic and has a rocket for an arm(reportedly three the baseball in the low 90’s in high school. You would think UND would find someone like that whe would rather play right away than back up for 3 years before they get a shot.

You nailed it - if USD couldn't get #2 - they got the best possible out come. It is going to come down to Mellott vs USD LBs. Are the yotes healthy at LB?
It’s gonna come down to can Montana State stop the RB Thies. The USD QB is too soft to play in the cold. If he gets pressured at all and sacked he will fold like a tent.

I was going for hanging in the game and having a chance into the 4th quarter. This game was over in my mind at A.) 7-0 just watching the line of scrimmage. Other correct answers could be B.) When the Bison went up 14-0 in the 1st quarter, or C.) When Romfo fumbled to start the 2nd half. We were never in the game and that sucked for us.
Maybe D) second offensive play of the game for UND down 7-0 and Romfo keeps the ball and loses a yard on a hard hit by Moestart. I think that may have made Romfo a little hesitant to hold onto the ball and if he isn’t running he is not going to beat a good team.

I could say the same thing about your team and SDSU.
I don’t disagree. I don’t think NDSU will win at USD either.

History tells me that we win out next 3 games and lose the next 3 after that. Hope I am proved wrong and we can knock off at least one of the Sodak schools at home. 8-4 is the low bar set now for the rest of the year. Anything short of that would be a major disappointment.
Haven’t looked at your schedule but I don’t foresee beating either SD school.

Jody Norstedt was but he resigned before layoffs were announced. Taylor Budge was retained, so may be a increased role for her, probably not PXP but shows they are not canning everyone and believe she has a important role with UND athletics. Alex Heinert also appears to have been retained. While he has his CBS Sports assignments as well that is not every weekend.
Would not be surprised for basketball and volleyball to see Ryan Cunningham come back to doing PxP. He did some previously for those sports as a freelancer for the games that were broadcast on Bally/Fox Sports North.
I could see Jody going back to WDAY. Don’t think he is interested in relocating right now and don’t see a lot of other opportunities in the broadcast world in the area.

I’m so high on Moni. Wonder what other offers he’ll get
NDSU has offered him too. For what it is worth, yes, Richman is hard to play for. But the ones in the portal so far I am okay with. Skunberg had a good run but his time was up. Morgan can go. To be completely honest it was a 50/50 option if it would be a bucket or a turnover every time they forced it into him. He will not be a major contributor at a P5 school if he gets a big NIL offer like is speculated. If Federson, White or Wheeler-Thomas go, I will be more upset.

Is that now 2 8th graders and a 9th grader? Or were the Horace kids a freshman and sophomore?

I see Kacie scored half of the teams points again tonight. Is there anyway they are any better next year after she graduates? Not sure the kids from Horace can enroll that early to help Mail out.

Don isn’t putting NDSU in the big dance, Whoever Charlie Crème is is the one putting them in as an at large. I think he is the ESPN women’s bracketologist. They are currently 44 in the NET rankings but as bad as everybody else in the league is they can only afford to lose to the Jacks if they want any chance of getting a second bid from the Summit. And I agree, Collins is going to get an offer and Koenen will get a very large offer from some P4 school next year. This may be their one and only chance to challenge for a bid to the dance.
i hope UND gives Hutter a chance. His cupboard was bare and it is extremely hard to build something from scratch. This is Collins 7th? Year and this is the first year I feel he has been able to have a team on somewhat equal footing as the Jacks. Recycling coaches every 3 or 4 years will get you nowhere fast. NDSU’s first 10 years in D1 women’s basketball were a good example.
