  1. Gosh I hope someone puts video of this stuff up.
  2. Same for the BC game that just finished (they won). Empty barn.
  3. Boy I sure hope they keep their focus. Go Sioux!!!!!!!!
  4. Lets put the pressure on these guys going into the half.
  5. Audio is way behind the video though.
  6. I'm not even a basketball guy, but this is exciting. Go Sioux!!
  7. Took a long time, but got it going.
  8. That floor in the Hyslop is so sticky; that has to help acceleration, no?
  9. With the popularity of the Hawks right now, you would think it would be a prime opportunity for UI or Northwestern to start a hockey program.
  10. Income taxes should be reduced as well.
  11. On McFeely: -Its not giving away our oil tax money to the oil companies. The oil companies made the money originally and its the oil companies' money. The state took it from the oil companies. The state is just going to take less of it with this bill. -Its not the state's job to decide how much money the oil companies make. -Carlson's argument is a good one. ND does have too much money. State spending has exploded over the last number of years and its wasteful spending. -Perhaps some oil companies will long term decide become ND oil companies. What difference does it make where the oil companies take the money. Right now most of the oil companies are investing a substantial amount of the money right here in ND. -There is lots of competition out there for ND. Its all over. -Its not giving it to the oil boys. Its letting them keep what they worked hard to earn.
  12. Excellent news finding out about this bill and its passing. This will further make ND an excellent choice for doing oil related business. The taxes were too high and it was going to hurt the state long term. The state has plenty of revenue and should focus on reducing spending and leaving as much money as possible with the private sector, that is the people. It is not the state's job to soak up as munch money as possible, but rather it is the state's goal to provide the essentials as efficiently and cost effectively as possible so that the maximum amount of money can be left with the people who earned it.
  13. The tax cut is a good thing. It will further ensure a good climate for oil related business in ND. The state has plenty of revenue and needs to reduce spending back to levels similar to what they were about 5 years ago. ----------- Who's to say that this tax bill would not have happened regardless of Hamm's donation? That connection cannot and should not be made.
  14. Williams is just as classy as her brother I guess...
  15. Apparently more people than just Carson like this, the bill passed 90-4 in the house.
  16. Thursday is fine if you're a local (same with Friday). But if you live out of town (western NoDak, etc.) than the Saturday game is the only one that you can attend. And besides, nothing makes a weekend like the Fri/Sat series. They just rule. Its kinda like NFL on Sundays, the consistency is just awesome. Yeah and MNF is good and all, and maybe an occasional Thur. hockey game would have the same special feel, but nothing beats the good old Fri/Sat series.
  17. I strongly prefer Fri/Sat series's.
  18. What does that mean?
  19. And to clarify what I said earlier, I believe that both the senate and house would have to pass it and then it would have to get the A OK from the people.
  20. Well I suppose pros are that the individual colleges get to stay in the constitution, so there would be no closings, the people would have more of a say in how the higher ed board is ran, and the board would be more accountable to the people through the legislature. The cons would be that the board would lose some of it independence from political stuff and its a change of the status quo plus the colleges stay in constitution. I believe it would be a good change. The current status quo is broken. I think putting more of the power in control of the people through a direct election of the higher ed chancellor/president is a good thing because ultimately the schools are for the people and the people pay for the schools. I also like that there will be more accountability to the people this way through both the direct election of the chancellor/president and through the increased influence of the legislature, who represent the people. I also like that whole thing would fully fall under state statutes. I think it would be an improvement over the current set up.
  21. It would go to a vote of the people.
