Said it before, and I'll say it again, they can choose whatever inoffensive, generic, pussified name/logo they want for UND, but I'll always be a Fighting Sioux.
-
Well, at least they stayed in the Radisson, instead of a Motel 6 by the mall.
-
Same here. PM me with your info, MafiaMan, and I'll have my bank send you a check this weekend.

Maybe UND can be the "Steaming Green Pile" ...

It really depends on the room where you have the TV. I have mine set in the corner in the living room of a house that was built in the 30s, so you have 1-2 smallish windows and the room is generally darker, depending on any additional lighting. I generally have no problems with "glare". Then again, I didn't skimp and went with Panasonic's best offering a couple of years ago. If I was shopping today, I would have no problems looking at an LCD or LED as well, since both seemed to have matched plasma's inherent advantages, although neither seem to have fully addressed "off-angle" viewing.

I tend to agree. There was nary a peep from many of these people when the fight was actually happening, and before the settlement was signed. If they had spoken up sooner, we may not be having discussions about a new name/logo. On the flip side, UND, as a whole, has never really done a decent job of maintaining the type of ties to the SL and SR members in any fashion that did not seem self-serving or mercenary.

Which really translates to: "NCAA: We know what's best for you, so run on back to the reservation and let us count our licensing dollars in peace. Shoo, now!".

Just be thankful it's not "The Macarena" or the theme from "Seasame Street".

You forgot chocolate covered bacon, free beer and world peace ...

41 SOG and 1/7 PP, and we only walked away with two goals and an f'ing tie. Not really a stunning example of what this team should be doing with that experience and talent. But I'm sure the "hot goalie", "ice was slippery" and "they wasted too much energy with the puck bunnies last night" crowd will chime in, if they haven't already. This team has to find a way to close the deal on a consistent basis.

If that abysmal showing/result Saturday isn't enough motivation for the team to steam roll SCCC, they may just as well hang it up now. There is too much talent and experience on this year's team to play hot/cold nearly every series. Split? Anything less than taking 4 pts in our own barn should be considered a disgrace.

That's better.

If the Sioux score early, and often, it will shut those cowbells down in a hurry, and take the crowd out of the game.
-
Okay, dumb question time: Given the team's relative sucess playing in black on the road this season, and in the past, can we just make the Greens the "third" jersey?
-
I've been to Madison a number of times for Sioux games, and never really had a problem with the Wisco fans. Most were pretty good people who could give and take shiat pretty well. However, as others have noted, State Street is a different world. Saturday, the Badgers waxed Indiana and I would expect most students were still inebriated from that exerience. If you go to student bars, expect to deal with the immature and the amateur drunks. It's probably no different than any other campus area in Dinkytown, Ann Arbor, Grand Forks, etc.

It's considered good form to look after your mentally challenged relatives.

STL papers are saying a broken ankle, but just the same he's out indefinitely. Bringing in Chris Porter and some other guy to fill his skates.

I tend to agree. I think this team's start, and it is still early, is very disappointing with all of the weapons it has. Prior to the start of this season, especially with Chay coming back, I had hoped they'd have a "mission mentality" to drive through the season and into the FF. Unfortunately, it's shown itself, thus far, to be a typical Hak team. It will probably struggle going into late January, kick ass in February and March, and barely make the NC$$ tourney, and then it's anybody's guess ...

Very classy move by Jesse. Wishing him a complete recovery.

ZPar was sent back to NJ this weekend after sustaining an undisclosed lower body (knee?) injury.

I'm in.

Arrange a trip to Vegas or New Orleans with a few buddies ... enough said.

Good idea. They could have have a walk of remembrance down University, and end with a candlelight vigil outside of REA.
