  1. Hypocrisy is part of the NC$$ business model.
  2. I wonder if the NC$$ had the courtesy to allow them past the reception area.
  3. Actually I'm concerned about your illiteracy.
  4. The NC$$ doesn't give two shiats about the "natives".
  5. Must have been expecting a short meeting. Maybe Clueless Al can help out, and drive the van around the block a few times to avoid parking tickets.
  6. I'm not sure who would "peer review" that piece of trash and have a shred of crediblity in a courtroom. Perhaps Ms. Fryberg will review her own "work"?
  7. I doubt they have standing to enforce a settlement between UND and the NC$$, let alone sue on the basis of Clueless Al's legislation. Damages? Good f'ing luck proving them in front of a NoDak jury, or a judge.
  8. It's nice Clueless Al is so "enthusiastic". As they say in the south, "Bless his heart".
  9. What's your handicap?
  10. Well, it looks like this one got away from us ... thankfully. Linky
  11. Which reminds me of that Snickers commercial ... The North Dakota SkyChefs ...
  12. That happened to you too, huh?
  13. Very few general counsels get that role unless they have substantial in-house and/or law firm experience. Julie has none. IIRC her only experience was running the centralized legal function at the law school, and perhaps some teaching of basic law classes. As I implied earlier, let's just say she's always been "out of her depth". And this time, it has the potential to turn UND into a costly laughingstock. Linky
  14. I see the fact that she's never had any legal experience outside of UND still hasn't stopped Julie from talking out of her a$$. I hope Mr. Warner sues UND, and certain administrators, and wins big time.
  15. I always considered more a "state of mind" anyway.
  16. Minnesota and Wisconsin?
  17. I wish they'd put that one on PPV.
  18. I tend to agree. Most "hockey people" I know from Minnesota and Wisconsin feel that moving to a BTHC is a dumb move, where the sport will be treated like a second class citizen. Alvarez's desire to round out the B10 Network's programming came at the hockey programs' expense, and it remains to be seen if they will be able to shine like they did in hockey-only leagues.
  19. I'm amused at all of the vitriol being spouted by the morons on USCHO about UND and DU, while the BTHC schools seem to be getting a pass for starting this mess. Dullards from Tech, SCCC and Mankato keep crying as if every other school has an obligation to save their programs' ass. If "winning", as suggested by a poster on this board and USCHO, isn't enough to save their programs perhaps they should close them down and save themselves the embarrassment of fumbling around in the McLeod-era WCHA any longer.
  20. The more I think about it, the advent of more leagues may force a number of smaller players to either get serious about supporting their programs or drop them, and perhaps encourage D3 or club teams to get the financial support to field D1 teams. I don't see the college hockey game today as one that should nurse maid schools who aren't willing to support their existing programs. With money being the major consideration in D1 sports, this is not a welfare state and the schools are acting in their self-interests, even at the expense of programs that can't generate the support they need to survive and thrive in this environment.
  21. I tend to agree. Bemidji has its own strong hockey tradition, and would be a nice fit esp. if ND goes east.
  22. “ I think we may see this borne out, especially with smaller schools who are already struggling to support 1-2 hockey teams. It's unfortunate, and IMHO the most dangerous thing for college hockey resulting from the BTHC, and whatever "Super 6-8" league comes out of the west. However, I don't see UNO making this move without Blais' assent. I think the biggest issue for the 6-8 league is getting a strong media contract that drives money to each of the teams in roughly equal shares. It will also be interesting to see if there is a gate revenue sharing agreement too.
