Baker leaving UND had less to do with the name and logo as oppposed to some other "issues". IIRC he left a number of years after the Blackhawk logo went away. Baker's attempt to do away with Blackhawk logo, and perhaps the name(?), started during a summer break, and still sparked a huge backlash. And that had nothing to do with any prodding from the NC$$. Anybody who thinks Kelley's tenure would be shortened by this issue is not paying attention to the "politics" of higher education.

When the Sioux name and logo retire, are you still going to cheer for UND's teams? Or will you sink back into the woodwork?
-
Great, let's use a backwater, do-nothing college as a "model" for keeping the Sioux name/logo. At this rate, these "save the nickname at any cost" clowns would have UND playing barber colleges and high school JV teams so they could cheer for their "beloved" Sioux. Never mind they don't give a damn about the school itself.

Arena director Jody Hodgson says he isn't inclined to remove any of the imagery. Good. IIRC most of the hardware, flooring, etc. was covered in the Agreement. -
The horse was generally found in the western US, so plains tribes like the Comanche, Kiowa, Sioux, Cheyenne, etc. were the only ones who used them and treated them as a source of wealth. The Comanche were usually the only tribe to fight/shoot on horseback too, and often at a full gallop.

Perhaps the NC$$ is finally recognizing that its premise of "amateurism" is a running joke. http://www.startribune.com/sports/132455408.html

Your comment would have more resonance if Kelley were president of UND at the time the NC$$'s H&A list came out. Moreover, Florida's Members of Congress got into the act very early and FSU ended up keeping its name and logo. North Dakota's politicians sat on their collective a$$es and did nothing. Even Clueless Al Carlson was MIA when the fight started.

That's a pretty generous curve.

You may want to dye your hair a bright red so it increases your visabiility on the big screen.

So, Mr, Warner gets publicly dragged through the mud on the basis of a false report, and UND's "kangaroo court", but the "complainant" gets to maintain her anonymity and won't face a judge? Lovely. I still think he should sue UND.

Sometimes Kelley makes Kendall Baker look absolutely amazing.

Jason Blake will be out at least three months after surgery to repair damage to his arm after it was cut by a skate. *ouch*

I doubt the Sioux name/logo fight even resonates in South Bend. ND went where they thought they could get the most bang for their hockey buck.

ZPar had two goals, including an ENG, yesterday. Got a good deal of praise from the talking heads on Vs.

Agreed. We lost a lot of talent and experience from last year's team, and HE teams usually have both. It's only October, for chrissakes. Relax, step back from the ledge and let this team gel.

Doubt it. IIRC Parise just signed a one-year deal with NJ. He may look to move after this season since they didn't lock him into a longer term deal.

Meh. the Wooger is infinitely more entertaining than Frank anyway.

Probably the same reason you end up sleeping on the sofa if you get out of line ... women rule the roost.

Considering the state of things today, I'm not sure I'd brag about "being in charge".

I'd like to think that HE wouldn't be so "flexible" either. Regardless of what ND might bring to the table, that conference is Boston-centric and I doubt BC, BU, etc. would be willing to give away what they already have just to please the Golden Domers.
-
Honestly, aside the from the "glow" tied to the "past its prime" football program, why the hell should ND get any special preference for any TV deal? If they had a Title or two, maybe. Good grief those golden domers are almost as self-absorbed with their hockey team's "success" as SCCC. It would be nice to have them, but don't sell the whole new conference to them.

According to the box score, he had two shots, 2 PIM and about 14 minutes of ice time.
