That wasn’t a horse collar. He had the jersey, not inside the pads.
-
LOL. I actually agree with you.
-
A grad transfer doesn’t get you an extra year. In the ‘old days’, i.e. pre-portal, a grad transfer allowed you to transfer to another school without penalty.
-
Totally agree, but it seems like NDSU and UND are good at finding those kids. Mauch and Haeg come to mind for NDSU. Both PWO’s from small schools, both probably in the NFL.
-
LOL. Well I couldn’t until about a week ago.
-
I think that was the case with Brayden Thomas. A kid out of Bismarck who played DE for the Bison in 21 after a good career with Mankato. But the Durfee kid tore up the NSIC as a redshirt freshman. I would think he was showing some pretty good ability as a high school senior. And he’s basically in everybody’s backyard.
-
Any idea what Durfee’s story is? Obviously flew under everybody’s radar. Was he hurt his senior year? Play a bunch of sports so couldn’t get in team camps? Anything else?
-
By entering the portal now they can sign in December and enroll at their new school for the second semester.
-
Indiana St and SDSU scored more than 21 on NDSU.
-
NDSU switched to Bison in in 1922. Well, according to the spectrum it was ‘Bissons’, lol.

I live in Minot so have watched Darik play quite a bit the last 3 years. The Skunberg comparison really isn’t fair because they’re not really similar players, but they’re roughly the same height, relatively close in age, both played in the west region, and both are D1 players. Dissette’s longer, a little more athletic, and can get to the rim better. Skunberg’s a better shooter (at least in high school), stronger, and maybe a slightly better ballhandler. Skunberg has developed into a really good defender in college, but I don’t remember his defensive prowess in high school. Dissette is already a good defender now, and if he can get stronger will just get better.
-
As ND1 said you nailed this. If Dissette could shoot like Eaglestaff watch out. As of now I see him as a Boden Skunberg type player. He’s fantastic defensively right now and won’t make many mistakes. Pretty much no downside with this offer. I wasn’t terribly impressed with Erickson the 3 times I watched him play. But he’s 6’10” and those guys don’t come along often.

Everything that I've heard about Treyson Eaglestaff the person has been 100% positive. Regardless of whatever he does on the basketball court I think you guys recruited a great individual.

I also think the NDHSAA is concerned about access. A viewer can get statewide ABC ota, through any cable service, dish, Directv, and through many streaming services. Even if you have completely cut the cord, you can pay for a month and stream all the games on stand-alone basis. I don't think you would have that option with Midco. -

I forgot about football. The Dakota Bowl is part of the package too. It would be interesting to see ratings numbers. My guess would Class B boys basketball, Dakota Bowl, the Super A, Hockey, Class B girls basketball. -

I just looked up the last time competitive bids were put out. It was in 2013 and Forum Communications and NBC North Dakota were the only bidders. -

To my knowledge its always been a package deal. The winning bid broadcasts all three basketball tourneys and hockey. I don't think the NDHSAA would ever separate them. -

It’s an open bidding process. I don’t even know if Midco submitted a bid. -

A lot of posts here about Minot losing kids to juniors. Do they have more kids go to juniors than other high school programs across the state? -

I think he may have peaked as a freshman in high school. He was trending to be a top 100 recruit nationally as a 15 year old. -
Watched the game in person. Eaglestaff could never get in a rhythm and Minot ended up winning handily. The biggest adjustment he'll have to make in college is on the defensive end, but he has a great skill set that should translate well for you guys.

Yep. I don’t care what league you’re in or the disparity between the teams, you’ll always be happy with a split on the road. -
This is exactly how it should be. The one positive outcome from the pandemic is a return of some power to the states. I’m afraid this will be short-lived however and we’ll have a return to federal overreach.
