  1. No, I believe they are telling you that in a thread about genetic lineage from past to present to future Sioux players, PJ, Jacques, and for that matter the twin sisters don't really count, since none of them ever did or will play for the Sioux. Is the fog clearing yet? Need a GPS?
  2. ... and on the 7th day, he went to Judy's.
  3. There is no less exciting team in the NHL to watch than the Wild. Hate their style and system. All they added this year was couple more goons so Boogard had friends to play with. That style is so defensive it is offensive. Does that system work? Yes. Is it fun to watch? Not to me, no. Oh, and number two on that list is NJ. Thank God they are both eliminated.
  4. But, it's balanced by the fact we have Gophers, Wisco, CC and Denver all at home this year. They know when to lighten the home NC load. That's how we get those schools to come here on the years the home schedule isn't as strong. Trust, my laddy (or lassy) trust.
  5. Probably had West D-men in front of him.
  6. Yes, that is correct, BU or UMass.
  7. This is twice today already!
  8. Yes, despite out shooting Colorado 32-21. Gave up two SH goals, including the game winner with 3:28 to play. Minot's Skogan was goalie in the win yesterday stopping 30 of 32 shots. RR's Arnason in the loss today stopped 16 of 21. Play final pool play game Friday @ 1:30 vs. Connecticut. They are in the "B" pool this year due to last year's 0-4 showing in the "A" pool. Tyler Groth is 2-2-4, while Nick Schaeffer is 1-3-4 to lead in points.
  9. We play CC @ the Ralph the weekend of Feb. 27-29. Also the Ralph hosts the HS State that weekend, so those games could be of the Sat/Sun afternoon variety, as in the past.
  10. Don't make me use this again people!
  11. Mark this on the calendar. I agree with riders06! I actually thought Lee made a nice play to prevent a clean breakaway, or even a 2 on 0. He kept Ruutu to the outside, didn't let him cut to the net and forced him to turn his back to the goal. All while coming from behind and without committing a penalty. Ruutu ended up just throwing the puck blindly towards the net along the ice with his back to the goal, and Gerber let it in. Brian Lee made a great effort on the play, he stayed with the man, kept his skates wide and forced him to stay outside. That's really all he can do in that situation. The fact Ottawa kept Brian Lee up for the Playoffs speaks volumes for what they think of his future, especially since they will not likely resign either Redden or Commodore. And he's only 20/21, very young for an NHL defenseman.
  12. Lighten up, Francis! News Flash #1: When I was in college in the early 70's, I attended parties and drank adult beverages, even before the age of 21 (please do not tell my parents, they still don't know). News Flash #2: They, apparently, still do this in college, shocking, I know. News Flash #3: This does not mean they don't care. In fact, it could mean they care too much. News Flash #4: I was in Denver and after that game, I too, drank an adult beverage or twelve, as did many Sioux fans around and with me at Brooklyn's.
  13. Yeah, tomorrow my butt will be cruising at about 3 feet on the way to Denver.
  14. And they all got clutched, grabbed and interfered with until they left, leaving their WCHA statistics as unspectacular for spectacular players. Thanks for the effort, here's your parting gifts. Oh, and tell all your friends to come play in the only league that still rewards the less skilled players for slowing everyone else down to their level.
  15. Scott, use your head. Ugly stache = 4 goals. Leave it alone. Respect the streak!
  16. I downloaded both yesterday and watched games and have had no issues. I use AVG 7.5 for my antivirus, and it let it through. Ran a scan after, and it was clean. Note: I am not a computer guru, so remember that when using my advice on computer stuff!
  17. I still take Norm from "Cheers".
  18. Problem was, Lucia did not check the player who ran Kangas. He ran Harrison, that's why he got the penalty. If he had ran Kalinski(?) they both would have gone, at worst, even from Shepherd. Someone mentioned that Lucia cross-checked Harrison into Kangas. Not true, he checked him behind the net, not into the net. There was no instance Sunday where a Mankato player could not have stopped short of running Kangas due to opponent contact, yet they did. Teams must protect their goalies, or the ramming will continue, which it did. I give Kangas high marks for staying focused and not letting the contact bother him. Not many goalies could do that. He is a special player, I like him and his demeanor a lot. His interview afterward showed that, too. But, the Gophers should have handled it the first time. If they had, there wouldn't have been a second and a third, etc.
  19. CC over AA in two ND over Tech in two DU over UMD in two UM over MSU in two SCSU over Wisco in three Upset special: North Dakota State sneaks in like they did two years ago.
  20. Every player brings something different and unique to the game that is their's. I have enjoyed watching LaPointe grow this season. Yes, he has stagnated some the second half (hit a freshman wall, maybe?). You will not convince me he has been micro-managed. Our coaching staff is excellent at bringing players' abilities out, not snuffing them out. The reality is, though, that LaPointe is not the complete, nor offensive defenseman that Genoway is (I felt Genoway was our best defenseman at both ends of the rink in the NCAA's last year). Will he become that? I don't know. Because he is not a great accelerator, he will probably not be nearly as effective at rushing the puck as either Genoway is or Marto is becoming. Just because he has a long reach does not mean he can protect the puck well enough to make end to end rushes. If it did Finley would do it, or Matt Greene and Matt Smaby would have done it. Rushing the puck defensemen are a rare breed. It is not a knock on LaPointe that he is not one. But the facts are Genoway is one, and Marto is quickly becoming one. That's good for the team. LaPointe simply does not have that same ability, as you suggest he does. We will simply agree to disagree there. He can still become an effective offensive defenseman, but, in my mind, he will not be a great puck rushing defenseman.
  21. Could not agree more, Parise is signed for next 3-4 years at a bargain price. Plus, I heard Lou Lammarillo quoted on XM just two weeks ago saying the only two untouchables on the Devils this year were Zajac and Parise. Makes no sense at all, probably came from Eklund at Hockeybuzz, he's always making just enough crap up that he hits once a year and says how good his sources are. He missed on just about everything he said at last year's deadline. Didn't pay attention to him this year.
  22. Doesn't anybody want him? Yes, he can be a defensive liability, but the guy can score goals.
  23. I have no horse in this race. I am neither from or rooted for either team. I loved that it was a great game played spiritedly by two quality opponents. I was at the game with my wife and did not notice the too many men on the ice infraction. We were aware something was wrong when the officials huddled for an extended period following the goal. It is unfortunate that the officials missed the too many men on the ice infraction. As a HS official (in football and baseball) I can say we try to get every call correct, but we do miss things. I feel for the officials, it is a terrible error, but if none of the three of them saw the six men, they cannot go back and make such a call without being sure. Let me pose some other questions. Ones that relates to the ethics of coaching, teaching or mentoring our young adults in sports, school and life and how that relates to the rest of their lives and how they then live those lives based on what they learn from their coaches, parents and other adults who influence them. I do not know what the GPR players and coaches knew, but nobody seems to be asking this, so I will. With all the time that passed before the puck was finally dropped after the goal, at any time did the GPR coaching staff know or become aware they had scored with 6 men on the ice? And, if they did, why did they not bring that to the attention of the game officials themselves? I ask because I believe honorable people would have. This is not the same as whether someone committed a trip or an interference, where I would never expect a coach to intervene, as those are purely judgment calls. This is an instance where supervising adults, if they knew, could have corrected an obvious injustice and not have tainted the outcome. I believe if they knew and said nothing, it is sending a very poor message to our young people about the ethics of life. If they did not know, fine, we all just have to live with the officials' error, it happened, it's over, we move on. Everyone is putting this on the game officials, but there are other possibilities here that should not be overlooked.
