That's the score I was thinking when I opened this thread. Caggiula gets at least one, as does Parks. Nice to have the season finally here. Btw, when's the last time we had 6 players on the team from either Nodak or EGF? Lot of local talent.

I still don't know quite to think about OD, except that I'm eager to see how the year goes for him. Sometimes the guy shows some sniper; other times he seems like a grinder. Nope, sniper is the wrong word. More like a nose for the back of the net.

Got to watch Greg Johnson play for 3 years, and he was a class act. But if I was to pick with my heart, it would be either Trupp or Sparky. Going farther back, Al Hangsleben was fun to watch too, for quite different reasons than Trupp or Spirko.

I think Hak ought to bring Tarek Howard on as an assistant. He can work with the D two days a week and serve as in-house defense counsel the rest of the time. -
It's really nice to be in a conference with Miami.

Take that a half step farther: like a mistress dressed up at a costume ball you hit on thinking she's someone else. And she knows.

Oooh. Not liking MafiaMan's chances.

Your membership has expired, and you will have to reapply for membership to GHC (Gopher Hate Club). As a new applicant, you must provide at least three references from this board as to your fitness to hate. You will also be required to provide documentation of at least one public act of Gopher Hate. An affidavit from another Sioux fan stating that you threw a dead gopher on the ice during a Sioux/Gopher hockey game at the Ralph entitles you to an automatic 5-year membership with yearly dues waived. Proof that you threw a dead gopher on the ice during a Sioux/Gopher hockey game at Mariucci entitles you to . . . what ever the hel you want.

I hope you were honest with him and explained Gopher Hate. Tried to explain Gopher Hate.

To be fair, scpa, it's pretty obvious to the rest of us that you've had a head injury of some kind.
-
I've found Slap Shot to be a good poster on USCHO and here. But of course you need to take into account the diminished capacity gopher fans must have to support the team they do.

What is Bottineau called now? It was the School of Forestry when I grew up.

Winger? D? We gotta know. Wait . . . not another nutcase goalie?

Congrats Wilbur. Wilbur or Wilburette?

I'm guessing Hak had a pretty good idea what Rocco was going to do. Rocco's decision, so no one can be certain, but . . . . -
Definitely agree those three played at a higher level.
-
I think you are flat wrong in accusing him of any amount of disloyalty. Oshie, Toews, Parise, and on and on--all disloyal? I'm grateful Rocco chose UND, and I hope he has great success at the next level. We were lucky to have him.

Beck Ola. Good album. -
I agree that they don't have another guy who, by himself, can make things happen. Keeping him here would be a big deal.

Is that you, Mrs. Gilberts? -
Rocco should pay heed to the thoughts of another "7-foot white kid with limited athleticism." Good article, though. I'm sure Rocco has plenty of former Sioux who might say the same thing.

I did not get to see Dillon much in person--in what phase of the game did his modest foot speed show the most. I mean, there's that area below the dots where dmen need three-step kind of foot speed or quickness when they have the puck and when they don't. And there's the neutral zone down to the dots on defense where they need more up-ice (down-ice) speed. Does that make any sense?
