  1. Well, if I remember that discussion correctly, one might understand where the bruised lung came from!
  2. I was there and saw it from an angle somewhat behind him. The way his head twisted when he hit, I was scared he wouldn't get back up. Of course, I was still pretty sensitive from the Bina situation earlier.
  3. At least the WCHA is publicly admitting what a screw-up that was by the officials.
  4. Unless one of these youngsters is really ready, as jk pointed out to me, it might be better to get some seasoned, more experienced dman from the hinterlands. In Kessel's first year it sure would be nice to introduce him to this year's senior class of Dmen, instead of throwing next year's to the wolves. Jones will know him fairly well, so maybe that will help.
  5. It was all SODAK.
  6. First off, NO CHANCE if the Sioux don't beat BU. Secondly, put your money on BC. Thirdly, don't be surprised if the Sioux beat BC.
  7. Amen, Goon.
  8. Super news. Hope he's feeling ok and has a quick recovery. GO ROBBIE!
  9. Exactly. Murray out is a big hole but the team can win without him, and now they will need to. It's not a sophomore slump when you miss that many games and are in traction for many that you do play in (shoulder and knee braces). With Prp in the lineup, I would see Foyt sitting and Prp taking his spot. I'd still leave the Horsemen as the 3rd line the way they have been playing. Let the Red Peppers go out and create havoc.
  10. I'm not even sure he acknowledged them. I've looked at it closely and I see them try and give him "5" but not sure he even responds.
  11. TFF!
  12. I believe I saw his right arm hanging limp when he left the ice.
  13. Goon, I agree. That championship match-up that I anticipated was way boring. Neither team had any consistent offensive flow. CC wouldn't dump the puck (maybe because the few times they did they couldn't cycle it and generate anything). It gave me new appreciation for our team.
  14. I'm with you Goon. I think, if it is at all possible, Brady will want to play. Wasn't he quoted a couple days ago talking about how they all came to UND to win titles and so far that hasn't happened? His pro career is still in the future and there's always a question (see Bina). He's got to win 4 games in a row to achieve that first goal. So I think if he can, he will. But it all depends on the prognosis, I suppose. Anyway, that's my supposition.
  15. I think a lot of your comments have made sense. However, this one I have issue with. I think last fall there was quite a cry from the fans with this same attitude. I also suggest (I have no proof, only perception) that the Sioux and other teams were starting to adjust about the time the enforcement was relaxed. I agree that for a period of time the games will be ugly. I saw some of those games on tv and they were hard to watch. But maybe that was the price we had to pay. The WCHA should probably have stayed with it. And us fans will have to be patient. Unfortunately 2 things may be the result of the relaxation of enforcement: 1. We'll have to re-live through the whole acclimation period again if they try to clamp down. 2. WCHA teams may struggle in the postseason, now. If we think the rules enforcement is a good thing, we will have to accept the break-in period.
  16. Here's how I look at it. Considering the the U can't talk about player's injuries without a release, I suspect that points to Prp having a fairly serious injury. Otherwise Hak could say "Mike got dinged a little on Thursday and we just held him out to make sure he's ok for the regionals". As for Murray, if he's out in LA getting looked at, I suspect the doctors out there will err on the side of caution and tell young Brady to protect his future. I don't know anything about his injury. I just hope it might be the type where you can't hurt it anymore by playing on it. But you have to wonder if playing is a good idea. So for me, I expect we'll see the same lineup we did on Saturday against the Gophers. 4 lines 1. Spirko, Zajac, Stafford 2. Porter, McMahon, Genoway 3. The Horsemen 4. The Red Peppers
  17. It's playoff hockey time and anyone who can skate will play. I can't imagine Eaves and Gionta won't be on the ice this weekend. I can hope, though. Bruised lung? Ouch.
  18. I've sucked in my breath every time I saw someone hit Murray near the boards. However, in this instance, all Brady did was fall over on the ice (he wasn't hit, just seemed to trip as he was changing directions) and fell on his right side, with his elbow above his head. He dropped his stick, got up and skated off the ice with his shoulder and arm hanging limp at his side.

    Robbie Bina

I just hung on "Doctors are hopeful for a full recovery". Whether that means he ever plays hockey or not isn't the biggest thing. Remembering how we could not see him on the ice from our seats, and fearing that he could not move, to know it's likely he can at least get out of bed and walk around in his future is something I'm very happy to hear.
  20. A couple of thoughts on the weekend that I hadn't posted earlier, and I'm tired of regional talk: 1. Zajac. Every time he touched the puck I had an expectation that something great could happen. Wow, is this guy good. 2. The Red Pepper Line = Foyt, Marvin, Fylling. These guys went out and did a pretty good job. My buddy gave them this name because they're "the grinders".
  21. BTW, PCM, nice to see you're back on the reporting saddle again. Thanks!!
  22. Come on. Bo and Brandt made decisions (very unwise) that got them in their predicaments. If Hirsch is having "mental" problems as has generally been bandied about it's hardly a comparison. It's why some peope go to jail, and others get let off by proving "insanity". You can't hold each equally accountable.
  23. For me the only thing really disappointing about the regional selection is that the Sioux have to play Friday. Too bad they couldn't get their first game on Saturday instead. I think right now the team needs rest more than anything.
  24. One thing I would say is there were many of us fans who last fall were ripping on the "points of emphasis" because it disrupted the flow of the game. Seemed the WCHA started getting away from enforcing it about the time many of the teams started adapting. That said, I agree with everyone that there's a problem that needs to be fixed. PCM, do you suppose Blais would talk on the record now that he's out of the league? Maybe Sauer and Sertich too?
  25. If you're going to win the big one, you have to beat the best anyway. Might as well beat them in the regionals.... With any luck BC will still be banged up next weekend (admittedly so are the Sioux). Since their guys appear to possibly be available next weekend, they most certainly should be by the Frozen Four. So if the Sioux can get by BU, maybe, just maybe, they'll catch a BC team that's still limping a little. I know, the Sioux are hurting too.
