  1. I don't agree. I listened to 'CCO last night on the way home from watching the game. Lucia said that usually at this time of the year the best team wins the game, and the best team won the game last night. I thought he was very deferential in his comments after the game.
  2. jk, good to hear from you. I sent you an email. On the telecast the announcers were saying it was a pretty short list of Gopher players willing to go in front of the net tonite. What a great game to be a Sioux fan. I was nervous as heck, and frankly that middle part of the 3rd period warranted my nerves. Just when I began to think this game was in hand, the gophs get 2 quick ones and suddenly I could envision bad things happening. But once again, the Sioux weathered the storm and worked their way out of it. Very impressive performance. I think Parise's save on Smaagaard might have made the difference in the game. (someone else mentioned that before me on here somewhere). How dominant was the Stafford/Zajac/Spirko line tonite? And Stafford was fantastic! Again. Eric BoFabian. Parise. What a great night. The 2 weeks did nothing to hurt him. Hopefully he's not wracked up after that big collision. How about the solid, physical play of our defense, all around? Harrington....you said our guys don't like to get hit. Funny Irmen ended up charging Greene. Looks like your teammates had the worse trouble controlling themselves after being hit. Parise dodged a bullet when he came out of the net in the 3rd period, and the puck ended up out in front of the net. A bit more luck on the shot and this game would have been way different. Right after Canady takes the extra penalty and I was having flashbacks of mistakes the Sioux haven't made for a month and a half. Fortunately they didn't have to pay the big price. Canady did come back and play very very well after that. Way to go Brian. This win against a tournament tested/successful Lucia will bring a large measure of credibility to Hakstol. Win or lose on Saturday night, opposing coaches won't be able to go into recruit's houses and talk about how the program is faltering now that the legendary Dean Blais is no longer at the helm. Hakstol brought in a very good class for next year, and in his first year as coach has worked out the early season kinks, and has some players making contributions that they didn't give under Blais. I think this late season run has been even more far reaching in it's importance than just it's impact this season. Way to go guys. One more game to go.

    Fabian!

ERIC BOFABIAN I started calling him this a few weeks ago after he got a couple of goals. At the Final Five my buddy said ever since I started calling him "BO-Fabian" he hasn't scored any more goals. I had to stop calling him that. Well, tonite he gets 2 more goals. So from now on..... He's Eric BoFabian. Why? Pure goal scorer....
  5. I agree. I saw Prp out there a few more times than Foyt, for instance.
  6. McMahon said it last week on the coaches show. The best revenge is to beat them on the scoreboard. Winning the game tomorrow will be the most sweet revenge. No need to even think of anything else.
  7. Sounds like he picked the puck up and threw it at the net ala lacrosse from what I've read over on the USCHO scores thread. I was under the impression after Legg's goal that was no longer allowed. I wonder if the goal would have counted had it gone in?
  8. I think in the scores thread on USCHO people were saying Shegos is the ref in this game.
  9. Someone on USCHO posted this on the score updates thread: TFF!
  10. That is it, thank you.
  11. I wrote INCH an email, pasted in the thread from GPL that contains a quote from the Trib story quoting Goligoski saying it was a legit hit that caused the injury. Then suggested they research the Star Trib themselves if they want to see the real article. I don't know if I could have accessed a story from that long ago for free so figured they could do it.
  12. USCHO Frozen Four Preview Sure, Donny. You're a #1 seed and you're "just happy to be here".
  13. I agree with your choice, PCM. You speak for me. The storybook ending has the Sioux beating the gophs tonite, and then ultimate revenge on Count Rugen, I mean the Pioneers. After watching CC and Denver in the Final Five I think CC is the way to go. It seemed to me that CC's offense could be disrupted if you didn't allow them any flow going into the offensive zone. They didn't dump the puck and cycle. Denver would line up at the blue line, break up the rush, CC MIGHT get a weak shot on goal, and the puck would come back out. I think the Sioux D might be able to limit CC's offense on the small sheet. And CC's defense isn't as solid, I didn't think, as Denver's. So hopefully the Sioux would get more offensive opportunities. Still, I don't care that much either way. I just want to make that game....
  14. That's more to my memory. Should have known an old codger like you would remember.
  15. I'm rowing the boat with ya.
  16. "I think Ryan Potulny realizes he made a mistake" Dean Blais (I don't remember the actual quote) Or just go with PCM's latest coaches show!
  17. I used to do that but it never took me 4 hours to get anywhere. The $455 speeding fine I got helped put an end to that too...
  18. I will NEVER do another recap again, my efforts so pitiful in comparison to this. Oh my gosh, like Cratter, I'm wiping the tears from my eyes. I had to cover my mouth to keep from laughing out loud here at work. This is a beautiful piece of work. There are some message boards that have a forum specifically to hold threads or posts that are so special they should not be lost. I would like to propose the same for this site, and this post become the inaugural post, and the standard which other nominees must achieve to be included. Just beautiful, PCM.
  19. I don't believe Rory was "trash talking". A caller asked who might be overrated. While it might be best to avoid answering a question like that, I think Rory gave a very reasonable answer. He didn't say Harrington was overrated. What he said was Harrington was an excellent player LAST year, but this year not playing to that level. From what I read, it would appear not a single person except maybe Harrington's mother would argue with that.
  20. Beautiful! We all we gotta do is throw everything, including the kitchen sink and surveying equipment at 'em.
  21. Not only that, but he promised NOT TO DIVULGE Jordan's goaltending secret, and right before the big game posts it right here. Oh my......I'm just speechless.......
  22. I love PCM's avatar
  23. Geez, you MUST be concentrating hard on "usage rules"....
  24. Geez. I probably HAD 100,000 posts in the first couple of months. Which might also explain why Jim just let those fade away.....
