  1. That's got to be quite a shot to knock out a molar when you are wearing a cage and a mouthguard.
  2. I will see tomorrow but I likely would try to get to Senser's for the game too. Should be a good one. I'm just thankful that the Sioux gave us a reason to worry about plans for tomorrow night. On the other hand, lately I've been the kiss of death for the Sioux when I've gone to Sensers. I just read this thread. Sounds like Zajac was there for us again tonite. Thank you Travis! Sounds like the team played better overall. Only 1 goal given up and that was on the PP. The boys built a nice 3-0 lead before the Mavs got on the board. Parise only gave up 1 goal on 26 shots. Sioux outshot Mankato. Mankato is tossing in their beds as I type, and the Sioux are smelling blood. Sounds like a much better deal than last night. Just need one more, now. From reading other people's comments, I am trying to figure out if we want to play a 3rd game with this Mankato team, or if we'd have been better off losing tonite and keeping what players we have on the ice assuming we could still make the NCAA's. Holy crap, it reads like a nasty game. WAY TO GO UMD. I realize they didn't win tonite but they gave DU everything they wanted (and maybe a bit more from the sounds of the last no-goal). UMD has a chance tomorrow night and that would make me very happy, should they knock off Denver and the Sioux can finish off the weekend tomorrow. I'm also happy to see CC come back and beat SCSU. I think I'd rather play CC than Goepfert. Come on, boys. Let's finish the job tomorrow.
  3. If the Sioux make it to tomorrow night there's a good chance I'll go too. I've had some good luck there in game 3's. I watched the Sioux beat Denver in OT and that place rocked like the old Ralph. What a fun night that was. Wooger and Frank were hanging out, and the place was filled with hockey fans, mostly Sioux fans.
  4. I won't be at Sensers tonite. Would be fun. Maybe if there's a game tomorrow.....
  5. I'd rather know Stafford is out now than 1/2 a period into it. Looks like another new guy will get some time, and I'm guessing that 4th line might not play so much tonite.
  6. I heard Lou Nanne on the radio once recently and he recollected a conversation he had with a another hockey big shot back when he was running the North Stars. A goalie had played lost a game where he made a lot of great saves but let in a soft one that cost the game. Lou was saying how this goalie had played a great game, and you can't blame him for the one goal. The other expert said the goalie had played ok. Sure he made some great saves, but he couldn't stop the soft one that had cost the game.
  7. The Sioux have come back from this situation before, but I'm not sure if they were down 2 of their regular 4 upperclassman forwards when they did it. I'm assuming Stafford won't be able to go tonite. The road is uphill but hopefully the will be ready tonite. Also interesting to see SCSU and UMD put the state of Colorado on the ropes as well. One can assume at this point there's a pretty good chance a top 5 team will be left out of the Final Five. Let's hope it's not our boys. On the radio it sounded like Zajac had a very good game. Hopefully he will have a good game again tonite.
  8. Hak said he felt Prpich was interefered with at center ice prior to the goal.
  9. It's my fault. My gut was saying sweep.
  10. Can you say backs against the wall?
  11. Yes, big player scoring in a big game. Way to go Zajac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Wow, I thought I was going to have to start this. Don't know if I will get to listen much tonite or not. Just heard most of Hak's comments. Tonite's game is critical, and expects Marvin will bring some physical play. Thinks he will be just fine on the ice tonite.
  13. Thanks for the correction.
  14. Just won't learn. Hi ho, Speez! Good to hear from you.
  15. Isn't Benedict committed to Wisconsin? I know there's another TRF kid who is, but the name escapes me right now. I hope the UND coaches know the roads to Grand Rapids and Roseau very well and spend a lot of time on them in the next while. White from Grand Rapids looked really good last night, as did several Roseau players, many of whom were freshmen and sophomores. Roseau might have quite the team in the next couple of years. Did I hear there was another Lundlbom playing for the Rams?
  16. I would say the best chance of an upset is at CC, where a goalie can do the worst (best?). Do we know if Sterling is playing yet? If not, CC has lost 2 of their top 6 forwards in the last month or so. Ouch. After that, then I say Mankato has the next best chance to upset the Sioux. I don't see UMD getting it done in altitude. Nor do I see Tech or AA having that much success.
  17. Nobody will replace Prpich, at least not for a while. Prp is a rare combination of grit and attitude. There's plenty of guys who will mix it up with you if they or you want it. There's plenty of guys who will agitate. There are few who blend that with the rare gift of acting like every moment they are on the ice is pure joy, especially when they are agitating or instigating. You can't remake a person's attitude. The Sioux will likely always have players who will stand up for each other. But I think a player with Mike's rare combination of attributes is on you just have to enjoy, and not expect anyone else to try and "be like Mike".
  18. One of the things about Mike that I really like, and the same thing about Jeffy Panzer was they always had a smile on their faces. You see a scrum and you can see the big smile. It's fun to root for guys who are digging what they are doing.
  19. It was a bummer seeing Forney have to miss most of that game. I thought Hermantown had some pretty good skill and some pretty poor luck for most of the game. TRF was HORRIBLE in their own end. Fortunately, for large parts of the first 2 periods they were able to keep most of the play in their offensive zone. Forney did seem to have some tools to work with. Some nice hands and playmaking ability around the net, some good work along the boards, and the ability to commit 3 penalties and only get charged for one (interference, elbowing AND charging all at the same time). It would have been interesting to see if TRF could have found a way to get one more had their best player been on the ice, or not. Most of the 3rd period was played in TRF's zone, and Hermantown's skilled forwards finally had some bounces go their way. The player that stood out most to me was #66 for TRF, Phillips(?). He was a pretty dynamic player.
  20. That was a super article. It will not be the same next year to watch the team without Prp out there agitating. I know he's not the most talented guy, but he brings another dimension to the game. This year he's generally found a way to stay out of the box, and to me he's maximizing his effectiveness, finally.
  21. I too, wonder how this will affect his ability to play next season. Football players are out much longer with these types of injuries, but maybe hockey isn't as hard on the knee as football. Get well soon, Erik!
