You completely ignore possible reasons for his behavior given by me and others. Now, I admit I don't know for sure why he does what he does, but how can you know so much better than me? Why are the reasons I or PCM gave not valid? Let's hear what you have to say...

For me, interesting stuff. Thanks.

Is Lammy holding up his glove to say "look at me" or is he showing the ref he caught the puck, not unlike a baseball outfielder who catches the ball and wants to show that it wasn't trapped? I had a Gopher fan behind me this weekend who, when Lammy made a glove save, yelled at him to hold up his glove and showboat "like he always does". Did you see Lammy do that this weekend? I didn't. I did want to suggest to the guy that MN goalies don't do that because, well, you have to actually catch the puck. But the weekend didn't go my way.

This was in Reusse's Beyond the Quotes column. Great story! Broten related that story to a reporter who told Broten that it was Walker that he had beaten for the GWG in the 1979 National Championship game.

We need more posts like that on this board so people who aren't familiar with how the game is played (me) can learn more. I don't have anything to add, but was looking forward to any responses.

Kind of like: "The Grand Forks Herald Folds" ...its newspaper in the middle.

We commented during the game on the high number of shots that MN blocked (mostly going off shinguards, etc.).

Speaking of bustlines, was that forecheck dancin' dirty on the Dance Mania big screen? Or someone else?

I prefer your optimism. mikejm, you are right. A rematch with MN is not guarenteed. Hopefully the boys take care of business against MI first.

I'm apparently not authorized to see whatever that links to.

If my math is correct that's $2,645,960 in gate receipts. I don't know how much ancillary income is generated, nor expenses.

That's great, but I after Friday's game I can't see how anyone could pick the Sioux over the gophers. Don't get me wrong, the gophers aren't an automatic win over the Sioux but IMO certainly outplayed the Sioux and earned the win on Saturday. They've now put together a couple or a few good games in a row, where inconsistency was a problem in the recent past. Will that return? It could, but they don't strike me as a team that's lacking in confidence. We've already seen a time in this year when they played well enough where pretty much no one could beat them, and they seem to have that groove back. The Sioux will give them a battle, but I can't pick 'em over the gophers right now.

This matchup is dangerous for the Sioux, I think, in that the desire to take on the Gophers again just might derail this team in the game against Michigan, if they don't have their focus in the right place. After last night I don't think the gophers are upset that they may have to play the Sioux in that regional. I think they know they are playing well enough to beat any team right now. Hopefully the Sioux have it working this weekend and can knock off 1 good team and 1 great team. I like their chances after that.

One of the most mentally draining games I have watched from a fan's perspective. Cudo to MN on playing an outstanding game last night. They made few mistakes and really bottled up the front of the net. I will have to see if I can find time of possession stats because MN seemed to be able to set up on the Sioux zone way more than the other way around. Even before the game was over, I thought if the Sioux won it was because they survived the game and if MN won it was becuase they deserved to win. I think MN outplayed the Sioux and maybe even outhit the Sioux, that that's about the only thing that bothers me too much. I wonder how different (or would it be different at all?) if this game was played on Olympic ice? MN is a different team than they were when the Sioux played in Minneapolis, so it might not matter. MN looks to have found themselves, and they have put together back-to-back strong games. Last night was a better game for them than the Bucky game from what I saw. Despite being outplayed I thought the Sioux did very well to keep this game tied going into the overtime. They gave themselves and chance and they showed the quality of the team overall. But frankly, how can MN not be considered favorites for the NCAA's considered how they played last night? Hopefully the boys will have answers and can make another run. Like jk pointed out, the Sioux are still playing very well, and there's reason to look forward. The Sioux didn't tank last night's game. Let's hope they didn't peak with the outstanding performance against St. Cloud on Friday. Congratulations to the Sioux for a tough fought tournament.

Now I see why GPL won't allow new registrations at this time of the year.

Gophers played a very solid game last night. I don't have the confident feeling going into tonite's game that I had going into yesterday's. I guess the question is whether the gophers can play that way consistently, that is still a question mark. But it seems like they might be finding some of that early year spark. Sioux will need solid play up and down the lineup just like yesterday, and physical play again.

You got some outstanding shots. Way to go!

I called Porter for having a big game but what I really MEANT to say was "Porter's Line"!
-
You make a good point, PCM. I would say the Badgers don't have that level of offensive talent on their team, yet managed a pretty convincing victory, but Lammy's injury made it even harder for the boys.
-
Let's not forget that Duncan was still scoring goals in the first half when he didn't have those guys all the time as linemates, or they were playing injured.

Teslak let in 1-2 weak goals. #2 for the night was a killer for sure.
