  1. I don't know how much I'd read into that blog. It didn't sound to me like they were necessarily in dire straights. Just some speculation as to where $ could go. I would expect they will find the $ for Nash if he wants to go there.
  2. I used to be on the leaderboard around here. Let me tell you, success at this level is not all it's cracked up to be.
  3. Only saw a couple of games in person and he only played in one. I've seen a handful on the tube. I agree he's got a ways to go, and that he hasn't played as well as we hoped/he could but that doesn't mean I can't be a fan.

    WCHA Refs

I think WCHA fans would see a free flowing game if the fans quit having conniptions about the infractions being called until such time as the teams finally adjust. Add to that a commitment from the league to carry through with the idea, and finally a commitment to get better refs in general. THEN, I think we would see a free flowing game that satisfies everyone. Until then I think we'll be arguing "more taste/less filling" ad nauseum.
  5. I would suggest Maine. They're kind of the Sioux's pseudo-sister team in HE.
  6. I'm a Lee fan too, and it seems to me he's been playing better.
  7. It is a great weekend of watching hockey and having fun with good friends.
  8. I think Hak called out Lee and Genoway in the paper. Is that good enough for you?
  9. Sioux Hab_it you said, I was thinking it. Duluth is a team I would not want to play in the postseason. Siouxdonyms, I did Lammy's interview.
  10. Lamoureux: They played a trap style. Forced us to the outside and didn't give our best players much of a chance. We limited their shots very much. All that matters is we got 2 points. I play better when I see 30+ shots in a game. Whatever it takes I wanted to get a win tonite, if that meant I had to get a shutout, then that's what I had to do. Give Duluth credit, they may be in last place but they are not a last place team. They really worked played well weekend. This was a big win for us and our seniors. It's going to be a big dog fight in Denver.
  11. Thanks, man! Saved me a lot of typing.
  12. jk, I think at about the 8 minute mark Sweeney said that Duluth was outshooting the Sioux 9-3 in the 3rd, and that's where the period ended up. The Sioux did a better job keeping Duluth away from the net (and Duluth wasn't pushing the play too hard). Too bad Miller missed on that backhand in OT. That would have gone a long way to erasing the bitter taste of last weekends tie.
  13. Hak: Slugfest tonite. Had 3-4 guys we didn't use much tonite because they weren't on top of it. That's enough. Ref put the whistle away at the end of the game and let the players play. Phil battled his tail off. Ice was bouncing a bit. Cross-ice pass to Toews in the 3rd bounced over his stick. I think he thought that was in. Worked hard and drew penalties, which we wanted to do. Have to score on the PP. 5x5 we didn't make good tape-to-tape plays up the ice in the first half of the game. Did better in the 2nd half. Great goal by Duncan. New trick out of his bag. Need a better start tomorrow. Need more contributions from 3-4 guys. Need to work hard, draw penalties, and then capitalize on the PP.
  14. Never felt like the Sioux were going to win this game after the first shift where Toews almost scored. Duluth looked pretty good, and they didn't let the Sioux get any flow in the the offensive zone. Now we've given up 2 points we really needed over the last 2 games. We need to win tomorrow. Thanks for nothing SCSU. Go Gophers. (purge)
  15. I can understand why you didn't like it. The reason I liked it is because that's basically what many have been saying about the NCAA. They shouldn't be telling individual institutions how to run their show. In fact, I think that's in their charter.

    Brian Lee

From the replays I've looked at it looks like he certainly retaliated when he didn't need to. Regardless of whether he was first or not, it could have stopped with him, and it didn't.

    Brian Lee

I might question the wisdom of having Jones, Radke or Kaip on the ice in that situation. With just over a minute left to play we said to each other that since it's Mankato no way to do we get to the end of the game without some extra-curricular activity. I wondered if it was wise to have Jones and Kaip on the ice, especially Jones as he has a bit of a hair trigger. I'm not laying blame here, but I wonder if a different defensive pairing on the ice might have been a better idea.
