No clue, my best guess is it having something to do with the last few years and the handshake line stuff. Call it a cooling off period or whatever you want (I'm sure many UND fans will call it hiding or whatever) but most fans of both teams will agree that it sucks. Hopefully they can fire it up again in a few years. Best I can tell for Lucia (really bored at work right now) is 23-26-5 and that includes regular season, WCHA playoffs, and NCAA's.

$25 is what standing room tickets have cost every other season, as far as I know this is the first year they've been charging full seat prices for SRO tickets. IMO $55 for a SRO ticket is crazy, I'd never pay it. I think the athletic department has been fairly successful dumping cheap tickets via facebook deals this football season and plan on doing the same with hockey and basketball.

A quick look shows about 40 seats available tonight, all of the being singles and all sold at $55 each. Hardly an attendance issue. Also, moving the Saturday game to the X would be awesome, but I can't imagine the revenue from the extra 8-10K seats sold would make up for the facilities fee that the X would charge the U.

UND has a losing all-time record vs UMN.

Lucia said (either on his radio show or an interview/media day) that UND will be back on the schedule in a couple years and will be a team that they play every year.

UMN hasn't announced sale dates for individual game tickets. I would expect a date to be released by the end of the week.

If the Gophers come out flat, they will be in trouble. If they come out and play their game it wont be close. UND isn't deep enough to play with the Gophers.

Shouldn't Minnesota put the priority on scheduling other Minnesota schools? As much as I enjoy the rivalry I'd rather play other Minnesota schools (mostly UMD) every year and get a road game out east (BC/BU) every year. I think any games between UMN and UND for the next couple years will be happening either in national tourny's or in Minneapolis.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy UND's style of hard nosed hockey between the whistles but all of the crap after the whistles and in the handshake line has no place in hockey.
