The varsity Central hockey team is playing the alumni Central hockey team tonight at 7 p.m. at Purpur Arena. All the Lamoureux's will be there, expect PJ will be coaching because of a broken wrist, the Morelands, Bina's, including Robbie, Gasparini's, Jake Stadstad, Jake Marto, Jordan McIntyre, and many more. They are doing it as a fund raise for Jason Stadstad who was diagnosed with brain cancer 2 years ago. Jason will also be coaching with PJ. Should be a fun time to see all those guys again.

The opponents of the nickname can try as hard as they want, but they will never erase 80 years of University of North Dakota Sioux history. Even if the name changes you still can't erase 80 years of history. UND could say they are changing the name, but keeping the logos in the arena since the logo and name represent 80 years of history at UND.

I have four tickets for sale at $16 each or for $35 you can hop on the bus with us. You must be 21 years of age as there will be Christmas spirits (and lots of it) on the bus.

There is a bus of 53 of us going. We are in section F rows 7 through 10.

I haven't heard much talk about what kind of signs the students and others are going to be waving this weekend. I sure hope there's going to be a plethera of them. Let's not forget the drinkers on the Gophers team, especially the every wonderful Phil Kessel. Let's not forget all the crap Bochenski took from opposing teams. In fact he still is getting crap from Poopy and Doopy. How about a sign that says Don't drink and skate And I always love the Gopher Kiss Cam when two or more gophers are in the box, which I'm sure will happen. I never get on the big screen where I sit or I would make a sign.

Don't think for a moment that Schlossman respects the Gophers.

But the fact remains that a UND did not and has not broken the neck of another player on a dirty play. The fact is Paukovich has and now he is being rewarded for it. I think this is disgusting. The only good thing is our three players should be safe since they are on the same team as him. I will pray for Toews if he makes the Canadian team.

I agree that Central didn't play a complete game. They started out pretty good, but tanked it in the 2nd and 3rd period. There were some pretty good checks by Tom Haug and a very timely hard check by Jared Stadstad where when the player got up he was shaking his head. Haug and Stadstad are both juniors. I was confused on Shanley's 2nd goal in the 2nd period. It was very clear to me that the whistle had blown way before the puck went in, but after the ref's talked it over they decided to give Shanley the goal. If anyone else was there can you explain what happened with that 2nd goal.

We are a young team. Spirko is injured. We only have 2 seniors. Only 9,997 more excuses to go. I'll have to watch the Gopher loss on Friday to find a few more.

This is too good of a hockey series to see it marred ... I kind of thought the game last year was too good of a game to have Paukovich marr Bina, but we all know how that ended up.

I also don't want the name changed, but I also don't feel the honor and pride I once did for Native American, specifically Sioux. I do however this the Aerospace program would be very honored if we were the University of North Dakota Fighting Aeros. The only other team that uses this is Houston Aeros. I believe Aeros would bring a greater presence to our university and Aerospace program, way more presence than Sioux. I don't want to be known as an Indian school anymore, I want to be known as an Aerospace school. We may be losing out on possible college recruits with the name Sioux that we could be getting with the name Aeros. It's just a little bit more prestigous Just thinking out loud.

Yes, employees of the Herald do read this site. It's not as easy as it seems to send a reporter or photographer to Iraq. There are a lot of liability and life insurance difficulties. The Herald did send Rona Johnson and Jackie Lorentz earlier in the war, but with reporters lives in more danger it isn't that easy anymore.

I find that abusive and hostile that the Forum is writing nickname stories about us on the front page to make fun of us.

If you claim the Forum isn't interested in Grand Forks, then why do they liste Fargo-Grand Forks, ND on their website? Why do they send 2 reporters to football games, even though they said they weren't going to cover lowly DII sports anymore. The Herald has made it clear they weren't covering Bison football and they have stuck to that. An AP story is all you're going to see. Virg Foss covered DI hockey, not club hockey. Why is nickname news front page of the Forum. Who cares, it's happening in Grand Forks not Fargo.

My season tickets are in 106 above the handicapped area and I was not able to get mine. I was told the NC$$ took that section. I said a few choice words about the NC$$ and then decided I was being to abusive and hostile toward the NC$$ and settled for tickets in the same section row D. They are still corner tickets so I'm happy about that. As for the NC$$ I'm waving at them, but not using all my fingers.
