Geography is a definite challenge, but it's a league within relative proximity, simllar number of schools and competitive. MVC would be great, but I think they would only see downside despite the Summit schools obviously carrying the football league. With stability, there is no reason Summit basketball can't approach the Missouri Valley.

I think some type of Summit League day/weekend in Kansas City with games at both the T-Mobile Center and the Memorial Auditorium. Turn it into a real early season event with almost a festival type atmosphere. Let each school play a game in each venue. The Hoops junkies can watch games all day, the casual fans can see their team and then go for some BBQ. Summit-Big Sky challenge is a good start, maybe similar with the Horizon League or WAC.

It is a problem if the Summit League as a whole is trying to move up the conference RPI/NET food chain. It should be a goal to get an at-large at some point, having that many non-DI games is a problem. Although the way football is going, March Madness may not be a thing in 10 years.

Brian Wright at Pittsburg State could be an intriguing candidate. Nice blend of experience at various levels and familiarity with the Midwest.

Not without a plan they wouldn't. But this could be a catalyst for a 20-30 school super league free of the NCAA. And with NIL and student free agency, there aren't really rules anymore anyway, so this could be an opportunity to shed the Purdues, Vanderbilts, Northwesterns, Wake Forests etc. in much the same way that the PAC 2 have been unceremoniously dropped. There is supposedly venture capital money that can make it a reality tomorrow and Michigan law grads can get them out of any contracts (and might be able to extract ACC schools as well). Would create a de facto national college league and render almost everyone else worthless TV wise, except for local deals.
