  1. How would that be any different than, oh I don't know, say... the last 30 years at UND?
  2. I will go with whatever is selected regardless, as I have always said the University and its student athletes are who I am really cheering on anyway. But I think Roughriders also falls in line with American tradition where the flagship universities in each state are nicknamed after some sort of official or unofficial nickname of their state.
  3. I've seen a few but they have only been from one sport -- the one that has for decades has worn the logo on their sweaters. Can you give me a broader list of UND athletes who are clearly upset by what happened last night? I could do it, too, but it sounds like you have been really monitoring it closely. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide! Much appreciated!
  4. Five names going to president are: Nodaks, North Stars, Fighting Hawks, Sun Dogs and RoughRiders.
  5. KG motion to move forward to the president 5 names and not cut anymore at this time -- but discussion on next steps would follow -- passes.
  6. KG says president can add more or cut down more if he wants.
  7. KG suggests offering up the final 5 names move forward and not be eliminated.
  8. They're talking RoughRiders now.
  9. Green hawks is eliminated next.
  10. Yeah, Bridewell originally proposed it.
  11. Bridewell's motion to eliminate "North Dakota" from consideration passes.
  12. I already corrected that information.
  13. Fighting Hawks ranked the highest.
  14. Goehring objects to Bridewell's proposal.
  15. Committee member Bridewell moves to remove just "North Dakota" from consideration. He represents faculty.
  16. Oh, there is more than one might think. I drive that route everyday multiple times a day and always see people (students, faculty, industry reps) crossing from Upson I and Harrington Hall to the Core Library, even more in the fall and spring semesters. They are speculating an enrollment of 350 in the Petroleum Engineering Department, alone, this fall. That's up from just 4, four years ago. Those students and industry representatives in the state all use the facility, and with the expansion there will be more reasons to use it than ever before. I am glad they quashed the idea to move the Core Library to Bismarck.
  17. I've always been welcome to intelligent, informed conversation about the game.
  18. Maybe we could stick to the Xs and Os of the Sept. 19 game. Just a thought. Most would find much more value in that than re-hashing the past and who wronged who and whose butt hurt is worse.
  19. I think the Alumni Review magazine, alone, goes to more than 80,000 UND alumni right now! It would be a big undertaking. How ever it's done, they need to make sure that it's a secure process.
