Bottom of the 9th. UND up 8-5. Bad guys up to bat. Go UND!
-
7-3 top of the 7th!

Are you sure the overall record isn't 23-20-1? I ask because I read somewhere that UND is guaranteed a winning season going into the double elimination GW tourney.

Wilkfork's mechanics are god-awful (not)! Jk.

Thanks! I said I was no good at MVC trivia, and I was right. I'll stick to what I know. Wish you'da left my quote off your reply; now my dumbness is there for all to read forever! Kidding... I deserve it.

Funny. I don't remember the offense being the problem in that game as much as the absolute excuse for a defense that masqueraded in UND uniforms on the Inferno turf. But I'll defer to your memory on that one since you are THE Encyclopedia when it comes to all things UND athletics.

TMac can cover Hardin all day long if he wants to. But who's gonna account for Golloday, Jackson, Townsend, R.J. and crew?

Tom Miller is tweeting that Chad's JUCO coach said he was competing for playing time with four 6-10 centers on the roster, all with D-1 talent. Situation was not much better at Colorado State, where he was one of only two sophs on the roster; the rest of the roster included 7 seniors and 2 juniors. And one of the juniors was a 7-foot, 280-pound solid chunk of humanity. Still, Chad has experience playing in the Big Dance, collecting minutes in the Rams' loss to Murray State in 2012 at Louisville, Ky.

On the flipside to the Big Event, there's this little doozy of a YouTube clip making its rounds recently: (WARNING!!!!! Profanity, gratuitous drunkenness and brief nudity ensues. Click at your own peril ) Go UND!

What conference will the other Dakotas be in 2015?
Teeder11 replied to SiouxVolley's topic in NCAA News
I realize you play with the team you have, but If you are into footnotes, UND played UMKC two starters down with injuries ( including our All-Conference first teamer) and had the poorest free throw shooting performance of the season. That said, this is the same lineup that forced SDSU to throw up a prayer of a dagger from outside to win it in the final seconds in Brookings. You might know something about the challenges of playing even one man down (Brauhn) against relatively comparable to inferior competition. -
I think geaux_Sioux was always quite positive and complimentary of Braden Hanson when he was coming in from UNC. And his enthusiasm over him only grew as he saw him perform at UND, and justifiably so. So, in fairness, not all transfers have gotten the stink eye from GS.

Mega congrats to you!!!!! Now go off and make your billions! And don't forget about us little people. (:

The freshmen and sophs keep coming through for UND! Nice win!

Sorry... a little "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" ( ) emoticon might help in that case. -

And that Northwestern Oklahoma St., Lindenwood, Missouri S&T, California-Stockton, North Greenville, Southern Oregon, West Texas A&M, St. Cloud St., Augie and Minn. State conference was one to write home about, too. I thought USD used to be in the same conference as UND. Hmmm? Seem to remember a classic choke by the Yotes in the Alerus Center circa 2011. You know, A-holes in glasshouses shouldn't throw ... oh, for cripessakes, just forget it. -

Just an observation, but outside of Johnboy (who tends to be a pretty good sport about things, in general, IMHO), trolling activity around here has been down quite significantly in the last week or so. -

That's about as close to a "yes" as you're going to get from a Bison fan. -

Yeah, it's all nepotism, right, because Tim was SUCH a close relative of Earl Strinden, and the others who held the position before him.

O’Keefe to Retire as Head of UND Alumni Association & Foundation Grand Forks (5.8.2013) -- After 11 years as Executive Vice President and CEO of the UND Alumni Association & Foundation, Tim O’Keefe has announced he will retire on March 31, 2014. “This chapter of my personal and professional life has been a privilege,” O’Keefe said. “I can’t imagine more rewarding work than for an organization and a mission close to my heart and so critical to the public good and future of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, our region and my beloved great state of North Dakota.” O’Keefe, in partnership with UND leadership, led the University through its first major capital campaign. North Dakota Spirit | The Campaign for UND, which ends at Homecoming in October, surpassed its $300 million goal six months early. During the campaign, the number of unique donors to UND jumped from 8,000 a year to more than 13,000, and funds raised annually jumped from $8 million to $45 million. “Our alumni and friends are special people. The branding of our campaign as ‘North Dakota Spirit’ could not have been more accurate in its representation of the accomplishments, integrity, shared passion and loyalty among our followers for our University and state,” O’Keefe said. “The University of North Dakota has a great friend in Tim O'Keefe,” UND President Robert Kelley said. “His work as the head of the UND Alumni Association & Foundation has been exemplary, and we are the beneficiaries of that work and leadership, which includes oversight of the $300 million North Dakota Spirit Campaign. Tim’s legacy is already helping to provide an exceptional UND for the future. All of UND joins me in wishing Tim and his wife, Becky, the very best on the next exciting phase of their lives.” A transition team made up of current and former UND Alumni Association & Foundation Board members as well as UND partners will map out the steps for finding O’Keefe’s replacement. “Tim has been a visionary leader with an incredible list of accomplishments over his tenure, which has benefited us all,” said Al Royse, UND Foundation Chair. “But while we will certainly miss Tim and his leadership, he has positioned us very well for the future, and we look forward to continuing what he has started. A transition team has been formed, and we are in the process of finding the next great leader for this organization.” “Tim’s leadership has been transformational for the UND Alumni Association & Foundation,” said Carolyn Becraft, UND Alumni Association Chair. “Under his tenure, the connection to alumni has been greatly strengthened and the endowment has more than tripled. You can see his vision in the Gorecki Alumni Center, the Hopper-Danley Spiritual Center, the President’s residence, and multiple projects currently in the pipeline that will continue to transform the campus. He has built a strong organization that will continue to do great things for UND.” During O’Keefe’s tenure, UND alumni and friends have established more than 479 new endowments ― investments that provide support for years into the future ― including 262 for student scholarships. “We only exist for one reason, and that’s students in one form or another,” O’Keefe said. “Today’s students are tomorrow’s alumni. We have always attracted a unique quality of student to UND, and it is the students who have inspired me every day.” ### For more information or to schedule an interview with O’Keefe, please contact Milo Smith at 701.777.0831 or milos@undalumni.net. Not at all related to conference alignment, but I thought it was an interesting analysis of NCAA revenue rankings: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/schools/finances/ -

Well, when Presidents are the ones making the decisions based on things like "like-minded" institutions and academics stats instead of win-loss records and past championships, then, yes, I can see an argument for UND-USD. But, you make an interesting argument about how things change in sport. There again, though, at the time of the big Big Sky door slam, UND-USD were very competitive with the NDSUs-SDSUs of the world. So if athletic standing had even remotest bearing on getting in or not, then, UND-USD would have been on pretty good footing there, too. -
You should write fiction. You'd be a bestseller the way you spin this stuff which you clearly know nothing about. Keep going; it's quite entertaining. (:
