Plus he is a very effective penalty killer. You win tournaments like that with great special teams. You need guys that are willing to accept and fill a role. It says a lot that he was in the lineup for the big game and Kyle Connor was not.

The thing is, it is just like any small sample size in a season, you have some guys overperforming and some guys underperforming. If you go by last weekend Owen McLaughlin is UND's best player, but in the bigger picture he isn't as consistent. When you have that many good players, it is a crapshoot who is going to perform in such a short period, and when they don't it is easy to point them out. Will be interested to see if Buium has the same trajectory as Faber had, in his quick transition. Still can't believe Motzko didn't have Faber on the first power play unit at Minnesota.

Yes, I think Duluth is going to be good again very soon. The problem is they will be our travel partner so we will have to play them 4 times every year, and our run against them is bound to end sometime.

Duluth did beat Miami 5-0 and 7-2 in Oxford.

I think every team that got to play Miami 4 times should have to subtract 1 point from their total.

I guess Arizona State hasn't wrapped up home ice yet though. I would guess we would want Arizona State to sweep Omaha though. If not, let both games go to overtime so neither team gets the 3 points.

Let’s not forget, it took a dumb penalty by Kunz for Western to beat us on a power play goal in overtime in the first game. The second game was just a disaster.

We need to get enough points to get ahead of Omaha this weekend. Hopefully Arizona State doesn’t have a letdown when the Penrose is pretty much out of reach for them.

So, tell me why didn’t a Robert Morris or Canisius pick up Singelton instead of Tennessee State? You can make that argument on a few guys but the vast majority aren’t getting a ton of interest to the big schools. I am not happy with the state of the program right now, but disagreeing with Berry for the sake of disagreeing doesn’t help things moving forward. Like I said, people don’t like the portal then complain when we don’t get a Pohlkamp. People say Berry doesn’t keep his lines together to grow together, then complain this guy or that guy should be moved to another line. We are saying to spread information from people who admit that they aren’t in the know. If Berry was your friend or relative would you want them to be judged on fact rather than innuendo? If a lot of the information we are hearing is true, Berry should have to answer why things have become so disjointed. Losing any stars, whether NIL is involved would be a huge red flag.

So you are good with Bowden Singelton, type guys who didn't pan out? Just about every team moves on from guys that haven't developed in juniors.

I think you can adapt just like teams like Minnesota State have done. 25 year old Canadians may be more of the norm for those that don't have the money to keep up. I think you can be competitive with older players that are willing to get to the hard areas, unlike some of the more talented younger guys.

With all the talk going around, I am just as concerned if not more so if they will be available next year!
