    Potato Bowl 2022

I don’t think many other college QBs we face the rest of the year during the regular season can make the throws that guy for UNI made today. Huge arm and was pretty accurate. That will help some. We also will likely play one other o line as physical as today. Certainly won’t see a combination of the two. my thought on today is this win will look really good as the year plays out. If UNI stays healthy they are a good football team. They may not get their first win until two weeks from now but could win out the rest of the way
  2. I worry It’s going to be a tough one up front for us. Excited to see what we have and hoping to leave pleasantly surprised. 24-13 UNI

I also think they are good enough in the secondary that they will be bringing pressure. Defense needs to play lights out. A few turnovers could help.

I think this would drive additional attendance if they got the word out.

UNI will have a some urgency here as well. Follow up the game in Grand Forks with a huge home game vs Sac St. (who I think makes a run this season) A loss in Grand Forks and they could be 0-3 (and ranked in the top 25).
  6. I’d argue you really could get by with 8 which we have been close. Few, if any teams have 10. Safety I can agree with. We have been a bit thin for years.
  7. I don’t think a team ever stops building depth so the fact we were saying the same things 5 years ago isn’t surprising.
  8. I have a feeling Nebraska was running up the score either way if given the opportunity. Coaching staffs leash isn’t long enough whether they won or lost last week to simply beat UND by two scores

  10. It’s really not deflection. Of all the guys drafted his year or after all but one are still in the league. Would you put money down on who is next?
  11. My response is he is on his 3rd team in 6 years. He is nearly interchangeable with most on that list.
  12. Consistent seasons and selling more tickets would do wonders for that budget
  13. If I am understanding everything I have read so far- Increased $$$ amount, increased coverage into Twin Cities, increased amount of televised games, better radio coverage (if Fargo is figured out), a dedicated football guy that can easily do other sports and was the best TV guy for our in state rival, planned improvements to infrastructure air televising other events. When does the bluff get called?
  14. Brian is a great talent. Welcome back. So far the new media deals seem to be working out. Still waiting for the taken to the cleaners part.
  15. Games vs South Dakota schools are in GF this year.

    2023 Recruiting

Like the big frame. Two big OTs for this class.
  17. Good take. I feel like we have been saying that at OL for years. Could Oliphant take over the other guard spot and move Kilty out to tackle? My other thoughts: Jaelen Johnson is an All Conference or better talent. I think he along with Sammy Fort or my picks for who steps up their game on D this year. Even with the losses at CB our secondary has a chance to be really good this season.
  18. Great thoughts by Mike Leach that explore this….. https://www.on3.com/news/mike-leach-presents-radical-change-to-college-football-in-transfer-portal-era-calls-out-cancel-culture-mississippi-state-bulldogs/?utm_source=social&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=sec_country&fbclid=IwAR3Y1u7Yzae-HGgX0tv_O8hTseVShB_Oo7H4qyQInPlZ1_DDQvdFL2GpZmA

    2023 Recruiting

    Lol. That was pretty good
  20. None of those schools do anything for TV networks, competitive addition to the conference (SOS) or “splash” for recruiting. Than the PAC12 is stuck with weight like the Big12 is with their recent additions.
  21. Big12/Pac12/ACC will be survival of the fittest. G5 conferences may not look to expand and spend more money on travel if they know that all TV contract money is going to the power conferences and all $$$ games may be taken up by power conferences scheduling each other. If anything they would be better off letting this shake out and tightening their footprints. Expansion and added costs just dont seem like the right move.
  22. A conference that plays at the highest level and includes the states of Texas, Arizona and California is a pretty decent recruiting footprint. Not sure why these two conferences haven’t just merged already other than each individual school holding out hope they are next to get the call and don’t want to commit.
