  1. Never led to my knowledge - except maybe that one game they won
  2. I'm trying hard to think of a team on any level that has pissed away more leads than this team.
  3. I haven't seen them snarly all season - puking up leads right and left.
  4. I've seen some poor teams in my many years as a Sioux fan but I've never seen play like this. The funny thing is - with the talent we have every week I expect them to come out with some fire and play a whole game. I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick a football. Sadly, I am not optimistic that any changes will be made - either on the team level or from the AD. When Clown can put 6 and 7 unanswered goals on us in one weekend it is a sad sad time for Sioux hockey.
  5. Yes - because we have such a great culture going on now.
  6. And yet we have an AD who extends a 5-6 football coach. Don't expect any change.
  7. For all of Berry's talk about "our culture" and recruiting "culture guys" I have never seen a team roll over and take it with a lead like we do. Berry has lost control and doesn't know how to fix things. And the recruiting - this goalie by portal thing makes no sense -and if we were good at it we would have St. Cloud's goalie. We have Karl as a goalie coach and there is something seriously wrong with our program if we can't get a good frosh and develop him into a multi-year starter.
  8. And it's not getting better - I don't think I have seen a team on any level, let alone the Sioux, collapse so hard in the second half of games.
  9. Or - under the Chaves school of management earn him an extension.
  10. I think it's great to have different perspectives and always appreciate yours. Always well thought out. I hope we can take the next step next year. And it's not like people who complain here don't support the team in other ways - most like me have season tickets and many have joined whatever Club (Coaches etc) that they can afford. We all want the same thing. Thanks for your reply.
  11. If this was Bubba's second or third year I would totally agree with you - however it is his 9th. He has had ample time to show what he can do - I'm not sure what those with "credentials" see in him that isn't obvious to everyone who follows the program. After 6 years of Muss and now 9 from Bubba I'm sure you can see why people are frustrated.
  12. And that's the rub - a problem created by Chaves' bizarre decision to extend a 5-6 coach whose coaching that season could only charitably be described as sup-par.
  13. So you do understand what I posted without me having to "figure it out". I do wonder why a 5-6 coach who made some of the worst game-time decisions I have ever seen including the infamous 4th down Bison call is deemed "the guy" and given an extension that makes buying him out problematic.
  14. Enlighten me - Bubba had more years to go on the contract that was current at the time. When that period ended the contract was done and a new one was needed. It did not go on in perpetuity. I used the word "up" in the same context as "time's up". What word should I have used to indicate this? You know exactly what I meant. This is your take-away from this thread?
  15. We have a program where a 5-6 coach who was 47-40 over 8 seasons was extended before his contract was up - and the 5-6 season involved some of the worst game management ever. Said coach is extremely adverse to change. How do you think the 23 season is going to go?
  16. Babich was 46-22 and fired after one bad season (before that season he was 44-14). Bubba on the other hand was extended after going 47-40 and 5-6 in his latest season while giving us perhaps the worst game coaching we have ever seen during that season - even though his contract was not up. That's why each team is where they are right now.
  17. A lot of this should be on Chaves. The last time Bubba made a meaningful change was getting rid of Rudy after 5 years. This is exactly what we will always get with Bubba. Can you think of an overall lower point for Sioux athletics than this year - Hockey is average, Men's and Women's BB and Volleyball are all just past the dumpster fire stage and here we are again in Football. With programs like that we must therefore extend Chaves.
  18. If last year was worthy of an extension this should be worthy of a double extension using Chaves logic
  19. Why can't we get a good goalie prospect (like Chrona from Denver) and have solid tending for 3-4 years. With Karl we should be able to develop a youngster. Can't say I'm in favor of how we seem to be recruiting this position.
  20. How many times have we seen Berry's "system" turn high scoring recruits into so-so college players. If this is a common perception among potential recruits it is way more devastating to our recruiting efforts than NIL or other teams catching up in facilities. Remember when recruits wanted to come here because they knew it was the best place to develop into NHL players (think Parise for example). The staff needs to rethink things and fast.
  21. Conference Championships are nice but not our ultimate goal. Duluth and Denver have found a way to get it done twice each since we won a Natty. We on the other hand have won 1 tournament game. Remember when we used to mock the Gophers for winning the Big 10 and then flaming out in the tournament. Well, that's us now. As for this year - wow - to watch a game is to be frustrated. It's not just the record it's how we are playing. Can't hold a lead in the third to save our butts. Add in our recruiting losses and here we are.
  22. Not saying fire Berry - but after 1 NCAA win since 2016 and looking at how we play this year and considering how our recruiting has gone it is clear we need some changes and I am not very confident any will be made. I was trying to point out that there doesn't appear to be much accountability for coaches coming from the AD's office. Watching both the Football and Hockey teams this weekend was brutal. If you look at our major sports - Men's and Women's BB, Volleyball, Football, and Hockey this has to be one of the lowest overall periods in UND athletics.
  23. Well, if the AD's handling of the Football program is any indication we can expect a contract extension.
  24. Probably - but according to the "Bubba Extension Factor" put forward by our AD there is absolutely no pressure to produce a winner. Look at the overall state of UND athletics and I can't remember a time when things were worse overall.
