Should be a couple good battles as usual. Record books can be thrown out the window when these two teams get together.......but with the way the Gophers are playing right now if we come out of Grand Forks with 1 point I'd be pretty happy. But I'd rather play the Siuox then the Crusaders this weekend, our record up there is much better against you guys. (Had to do a little trash talking for this big series.)

True. That second one he was WAY out of position on though. I'm almost starting to dread the weekend we go up there, could be rough.

I think Frazee was hitting the Long Islands between periods......it was a bad 3rd period.

WOW, I just saw the video of the "altercation". Eaves is a douche, good lord. Oh well, he came out as the bad guy, as usual.

I'm just curious to see how you guys spin this to blame it on the Gophers and WCHA refs!

We got tickets for Section 4, row 7 for that series. Gophs play in AA that weekend so we're heading up there to see some live hockey. Kind of cool having the games in the afternoon....can still catch the game that night on the tube.

I would recommend the Fenway tour, it's pretty cool. Takes you through all the back offices of Fenway, the pressboxes, the top of the Green Monster, and onto the field (if you are lucky and they aren't working on the field). The Freedom Trail is pretty cool too, but we went to all the bars along the trail instead......two days worth of bars pretty much.

FINALLY the Sioux get some respect......now if they can get some from the refs!

Be sure to stop at Woody's pizza for their lunch buffet......AWESOME. And Spanky's Roadhouse is another fun place to go! If you are looking for something to do during the day I would recommend checking out the Air Force Acadmey in Colorado Springs, only about an hour drive from Denver.....and the U.S. Olympic Training Center as well, thats in the Springs. Hopefully you will be luckier then I was and not get pulled over TWICE in one weekend out there!

Bottom line.....it all comes down to money, plain and simple. I would not mind seeing the Final Five at another venue either, chance at another roadtrip!

Thats a hell of an idea actually. The only problem is that what if UMD or MSU would win it some year (fat chance I know but every season is different), how are you going to accompany all those fans into the DECC or WHATEVER Mankatos arena is now that only seats not even 5K?

Well where would you like to have the Final Five at?? I am dying to know seeing you would not answer the first time! I admit being a Gopher homer saying this but the "X" seems like the ideal place to me, and to other schools seeing they apparently must keep voting to have it there, pretty central location for most teams......I have heard that Hak even likes having it at the "X". You could have it at the Ralph but.....ooops, it's not a neutral site, remember that part about having it at a neutral site.

I can probably answer this one! 1. The refs are on the Gopher payroll, and always against the Sioux. 2. The regionals are at Mariucci way too often. 3. Having the Final Five at the "X" is all so the Gophers can have the home field advantage. Point 3 has always been interesting too me. I would like to know from Soiux fans where they would like to have the Final Five other then the "X"?

1. Minnesota- "D" took a hit but they get their prime scoring punch back. 2. UND- Will be interesting to see how the loss of Toews affects the "OT" line. The top two could go either way, but I had to go with the homer pick. 3. MTU- This will be the real surprise team this year! 4. DU- Still have some seasoned tending. 5. CC- Not sure what to think of this squad yet. 6. SCSU- Bobby's gone.....but I've been reading they have some somewhat promising recruits coming in? 7. UW- Elliots gone, their offense is going to be pretty horrid. Their suffocating "D" is what keeps them this high even. 8. UMD- Stalock I think is going to step up this year, but with no scoring punch it won't matter much. 9. MSU- Not much to say, Jutting will suffocate this team. 10. AA- As someone else said, if this team does not win some games early, those guys are going to give up

I think they should hold of for Dean Blais, see if he wants to come back. Half the fun of the rivalry was taken away when Blaiser left.

Yeah, that was during the Spehar era. They would chant "Spehars a wienie" or something like that. The ice was literally covered in hot dogs, UMD took a penalty after numerous warnings........good times!

Which time, it happened 2 years in a row when the Gophers went up there. Just goes to show how bright they are up in good old Stearns County.

Thats the best part about listening to Wooger, you never know what he's gonna say next. He's got some real hum-dingers that make a person laugh. As for a Hakstol show, I think it would be about the same as the Lucia show. What can you really talk about for a hockey show week after week, it would get pretty repetitive.
