  1. Thats where having the refs on the Gopher payroll comes in handy.
  2. My thoughts on the weekend: 1. I hope the GOphers never get another power play the rest of the season....because it stinks. 2. Wheeler had a bad weekend, for who was our star player at the moment he sure took a turn for the worse with some if his decisions this weekend. 3. It's always a shame to see fights happen during the handshakes, but it would not be a Gopher-Sioux series without something odd like that happening. Wish more guys (Gophers and Sioux) would have done like Oshie and just went to the locker room. 4. Both goalies had great weekends, along with some gamesavers. A fun series to watch as always. I have a question though......does Ryan Duncan have some kind of lingering shoulder injury? It seems like his shoulder pads are HUGE for some reason, I know he's not the biggest guy on the ice but it's always caught my attention, thought maybe he needed to extra padding for an old injury or something. (Serious question, not trying to flame or stir any pots here.)
  3. I dont' think he would, Kangas did play well. Even after the game he said Kangas did everything he could to keep them in the game, only giving up 1 goal in regulation to the Sioux. Gotta ride Kangas whiles he hot I think, but thats just my $.01.
  4. WOW, that was a nice goal! Sioux really came out in OT to win, seems like the Gophers just quit.
  5. Well if it did I'm glad I could help. Now I have to get up and change the channels though, damn short temper. Oh well, the tv is on the way to the fridge anyways.
  6. I'm guessing FSN just got a barrage for phone calls, I have to find a new remote because mine just shattered against the wall....with some help from me. All seems to be back to normal now.
  7. You say hack, I say enforcer.....and every team needs an enforcer. We just have not had one in a while, probably not since DeMarchi.
  8. I feel sorry for the kid, he probably works harder then anyone out there for a guy his size and has had the chances, just can't find the net. Perfect example of the dreaded "Sophomore slump".
  9. Well this board has less "posts per page" then GPL. GPL has I think 50 posts on a page and this board has about 15 or so. I'm not denying I'm a bit down on the team but.....
  10. I think you made the right call, I was not smart enough to know any better, you were.
  11. Whoops, I think my fingers and brain are still frozen from going to the outdoor rink last night.....wasn't the brightest idea.
  12. That is a darn good question. A couple tough weekends ahead for the Gophers so it is hard to say. I think not dressing him two Fridays ago in Duluth should have sent a big message to him. I honestly think Kangas will get the knod both nights this weekend, if he does have a bad game Friday then maybe tDon does give Frazee a shot on Saturday, would doubt Solie would make an appearance. I think of the players as well, I mean how must they feel when their "star" goalie (Frazee_ lets in those type of goals, I would not feel real comfortable playing in front of him.
  13. Keep in mind this was Wooger that said it, so who knows....but Wooger is a great hockey mind. Makes no sense to me either, if it did happen. Kangas for a frosh has been one cool cucumber in the net so far, does not seem to get rattled one bit, could have a bright future. Honestly I have given up on Frazee, given his recent play and some of his "off-ice" activities over the years I think a lot of people are about fed-up with him.
  14. Wooger mentioned he thought it might be Frazee on Friday and Kangas on Saturday! Seems odd to me, Kangas has played pretty well, I just assume ride him out and see what he can do, obviously Frazee is having issues. If Frazee does start, shoot from anywhere prior to center ice and the Sioux fans should have a pretty pleasant weekend.
  15. I think it also may be the fact that if Gopher fans post on here we are automatically called "jealous" of the Sioux because we post on another teams board, when in fact we just want to talk about the series of these two great rivals.
  16. That was genius, I did get a kick out of that. For a second there I actually thought it was Blake Wheeler!
  17. Well there should not be any 180' goals this weekend, I doubt Frazee will get a start, Kangas has been pretty solid so far. A part of me is afraid to play the Sioux right now with the roll they are on but the Gophers seem to FINALLY be playing with some heart, so it could make for an interesting weekend.
  18. I would also like to see the replay if someone has them. I was up in St. Cloud for the game, felt about 2 feet tall as a fan watching Frazee let those 2 in.
  19. I have no idea actually. It's right on that main strip in St. Cloud where all the bars are. I bascially only know where 2 places are in St. Cloud, MC's Dugout and the Red Carpet.
  20. Good post, AZSioux, I think you pretty much summed everything up right there. I have a feeling these games this past weekend will come back to haunt us during the regional selections.
  21. You GOTTA hit the Red Carpet after, one of the coolest, funnest bars I have been at. You can literally get lost at that place there are so many bars, being drunk doesn't help either!
  22. I just threw up a little bit looking at that line-up!
  23. Could you imagine if North Dakota or Minnesota did not make it to the Final Five!? Ticket sales would REALLY take a hit then. Like was said before the good fans of North Dakota and Minnesota will go either way but there would be pretty noticeable difference.
  24. "Cool" and "Gopher fan" in the same sentence, that must have been hard for you to muster up writing, Goon. Like I said previously, my take on it is the PA guy has to do what he can to get the crowd into the game when I can. I wish we could come up with some unique ideas like the Ralph did this past weekend.
