Well we have all day on Friday to get to Grand Forks. If they shut down 29 we could just find some backroads. We'll have a 4-wheel drive truck so Mother Nature can bring it for all I care! We're up for the challenge.

Kind of glad the weather topic came up. How quickly do they close down freeways up there....if at all? We're staying in Fargo Thursday night so should hopefully beat it before it hits too bad. Just worried about the drive from Fargo to GF Friday. I've heard people say they close down freeways if the wind really starts howling from drifting snow. Thanks!

Ha! I almost forgot about that.....that was classic. Althought Wheeler is gone so it would not quite have the same effect. That was genius though.

But with no more Dubay it will be 2 hours 45 minutes of hockey talk, 10 minutes of basketball and 5 minutes of pro and college hockey. Granted Dubay was a Gopher homer but at least he gave us all COLLEGE hockey talk on the airwaves.

Don't bring stats into a series with these two teams, they mean nothing!

I'll 2nd what AZSioux said on page 1, this is the greatest rivalry in college hockey! Should be a heck of a series! Not too thrilled about Lucia not making the trip but obviously his health is much more important then a hockey game. Hopefully it fires up the team a little as well to play for the Coach. Sure hope they get some more of those white-out t-shirts in by Friday, would like to pick up a couple. Anyone know if the old Dagwoods opened back up, can't remember what the name of it was most recently? EDIT: Whats the status of Big Joe Finley? Is he back or still injured?

After the horrible officiating at last years game I don't blame people for not wanting to play!

Heck yeah I'll be there. I can't wait for that weekend. Starting the weekend early and staying in Fargo on Thursday night.

Heck I'll buy one of those shirts, maybe even 2 as a momento. Even if it does have the UND logo on it I'd still wear it. We may not like each others teams but you can't deny the rivalry, so having the logos on it is almost better.

Yeah, thats what I thought too. The Gopher game is televised and I believe it was not part of the season ticket package so alot of people must just want to see the game on tv. Can't totally blame them I guess, a day down in St. Paul can get pretty spendy I guess, especially with these times. But as you said it's WCHA hockey so I assume it would have filled up, two pretty good games actually, especially with SCSU and UMD havins some pretty good games in the last few years.

Saturday game at the "X". Gophers play home Friday at Mariucci and Kato is considered the home team at the "X" Saturday. Then SCSU plays UMD at the NHC on Friday night and Saturday they play at the "X" where UMD will be considered the home team. *Both games at the "X" are conference games that are counted in the WCHA standings. Supposedly only 6K seats have been sold for this tourney......seems a bit odd.

Sioux are going to take 3 points between the Gophers and SCSU AND split with Kato? They have a busy weekend ahead!

So to summarize the last few posts.......the NCAA SUCKS!!!!

Hit the El Roco as well. That is a must hit for us when we come up for roadtrips. And of course the Red Pepper, no trip to GF is complete without a trip to the Pepper.

I may actually have to try this finally. Never done fantasy football or hockey before so no better time to crash and burn I guess.

*I deleted my previous post in case people already read it, didn't make much sense....go figure. I have always liked that idea but what would you do for St. Cloud, UMD, and mosly Alaska. SCSU and UMD would not have the capacity and not many people would spend the money for go to Alaska. My maroon and gold glasses are on with this comment I'm sure but I always thought the Xcel was a good choice because it was kind of Central for most teams with the exception of the Colorado teams and Alaska. I would assume when the Sioux name debacle is figured out UND will start hosting some more Regionals?

Agreed, that would be my guess why they would have been put that low. I'll be honest when I look at the Sioux roster this year they look scary good! But then again, it is a blog so it should not be taken too seriously.

That is the first thing I thought of when I saw Finley was coming back....... well except for the pasting him part. Finley vs. Bickel. I am looking forward to the series in January more then ever now! Would be a heck of a good fight.
