  1. Are most of the UND FB players staying in town this summer, working out, etc.?
  2. Great photography!!
  3. Excellent observation!!!
  4. I would guess that Van Diest either decided he really wanted to stay in Helena or when he realized that he wasn't going to get the job, he decided to pull out (which is understandable). It sure appears the Lennon will be offered the job. It will be interesting what his answer will be. It will also be interesting to learn whether we are trying to do anything to convince him to stay with at UND!

    Tim Tibesar

Tibesar really does have a great resume (the Masters is a big plus - whether it reallys should be or not). I have no idea whether he would consider the UND job but, if Lennon leaves, we certainly should consider him!
  6. That is correct. He has joined BankForward - a bank that will do a great deal for the community and for UND. This family-owned bank "does things right"!
  7. Anyone know what Steve will be doing back in GF?
  8. Any rumors floating around GF as to who the donor may be and for what purpose?

So that will get us to 10 games? What are the odds of finding a 11th?
  10. For those of you who have seen her play, what are her strengths? What current/former Sioux player does she remind you of?
  11. Hockey Mom - That is great advise for all the nay-sayers!

    Drew Thomas

I was pleased to see that Drew Thomas placed in a track meet yesterday. I know he had some health problems. Are they all behind him? Any chance he will be back with the UND football team?
  13. Your ladies are having an outstanding year - keep it going!!
  14. It sounds like you need to transfer to UND!!!
  15. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ While this was probably a legitimate stance to take (find a conference before making the move to DI), we have found that it wasn't realistic - for a variety of reasons. The primary reasons being - 1) with our geography, conferences aren't going to readily court UND due to travel costs, etc. and 2) our probationery period is not helpful to a conference. If we were located in other parts of the country, it would be a whole different story for any of the four ND/SD schools - conferences would likely be very interested. We were wrong so we have changed our mind - understandably so. Now, there are some who will tell you that we do have an "understanding" with a conference (probably the Big Sky) that we will be accepted in a couple of years. I doubt such an agreement exists, but who knows!
  16. What a great game the Sioux played tonight! Kearney played very well and we won by 30+! Must have been one of their better performances in many years! If they continue to play like that, they will be tough to beat!
  17. From what I saw on the internet, they only named four: Fisher from UNK, Kimbrough, Langen and MVP Maffin! There had to be more but...... I suppose they were players not in attendance.
  18. Whatever we think or say on this website really doesn't matter at all. I am sure that the rivalry will resume in a few years. I would just as soon wait a few years until we have all of our scholarships in use. While I think we would be competitive, I expect the Bison would beat us the next 2-3 years. They should as they have had a jump start on us (our choice to lag behind!). Let's begin playing again when the "playing field" is level. More important, let's quit talking about it!!!!!
  19. I would agree with your comment. Although this year's team had some talent, it was obvious that the squad needs a couple of leaders - players that will "step up" and turn those close losses into wins. I am not sure another year of all these guys "playing together" is the answer. For those who saw the team play often, who do you think may not be back? I would guess that Doyle is questionable due to his injury!
  20. Was the Boyce defensive honor a surprise?
  21. If USD wins, I bet there is a good chance that the Championship game will not be played. Both USD and, of course, UND are in the Regional so the game really doesn't mean too much. If UNO wins, they will need to come to GF. I fully agree - they would be worn-out!

Very good points and well put!
  23. While I certainly agree with you in my hope that UND is able to expand its recruiting area greatly (to be as successful as possible, we need to); however, it is much more easily said than done. With the cost of 1) traveling to see and talk to recruits, 2) transporting potential recruits to Grand Forks (which is expensive) and 3) many more athletes from states with which we do not have tuition reciprocity agreements .... we may not have the money to do so. As an analogy, if I live in a big, fancy house, one might assume that I have lots of extra money. That may or may not be true - in many cases, it is not true. Just because UND is moving to DI does not mean that we will have the money to do a lot of things that we would like to do! If you think we will automatically be able to recruit nationwide, I suggest you talk to a few of UND coaches. They have specific budgets for recruiting. Everyone of them feel that that should have more - and that refers to being in DII. We just don't have the $ for it. All are concerned if their budgets will be increased enough to truly bring in more and better quality athletes!
