  1. If Nicholas is for real - what a unbelievable receiving corps we will have!!!
  2. Sarah is the new Director of Marketing for Bank Forward, the new Bank that is expanding into GF.

I fully agree - I think it is appropriate that we send a quick e-mail to Kevin Fee at the Herald (kfee@gfherald.com).
  4. You are correct - we will certainly have an abundance of guards. Should be a great deal of competition for playing time! I had heard that a big man may be transferring in from a DI school but I guess that did not materialize!
  5. I think this is a great idea! If we can get this going, count me in. There are hundreds of true-blue UND fans on this board. It would be great to take an active role in helping our Athletic Department at this very important time. I would recommend that we "keep it simple" and not make it specific to a sport. There may be too many strong feelings about which sport should be selected (or not selected). The FSC will gladly accept non-sport specific scholarship donations. You may want to post this on the hockey forum as I think many of the big hockey fans may not actively read the other forums.
  6. As the season approaches, all UND football fans agree that the more people we can put in the Alerus' stands, the better off we are. A full house (or at least a near-full house): -- helps create more UND fans in general. These folks often become very interested in other/all UND sports and attend other events. Importantly, many become Fighting Sioux Club members whose contributions allow us to be successful. -- creates a lot of revenue for GF hotels, restaurants, stores, etc. It not only helps the local economy but helps reinforce the importance of UND athletics to the community. This results in these businesses contributing to our athletic department. Obviously, the Alerus receives a great benefit in increased concession sales, etc. -- will help us in a variety of ways as we make the move to DI. That being said, I think many of us have been relatively disappointed in attendance. My question: What can UND and the Alerus do to increase attendance? How can we get more UND students to attend? How do we get more GF area (within 100 miles) grade and HS students to games (with their parents)? Let's not complain about parking and any other frustrations we may have. What are your positive ideas as to how we can improve attendance? And, let's not get into a pissing match with SU fans about how they give away tickets and stuff like that. Just positive comments about how we can get more fans to UND football games. Your thoughts? I think we all agree that attendance will increase to some degree as we move to DI and bring in better competition, etc. so we don't need to talk about that.
  7. A nice article in today's Herald about Dressler. UND FOOTBALL: SUDDEN IMPACT! Supposedly the coaching staff is considering playing as many as 6 or 7 true freshmen this year. I suppose there could be a few different reasons for doing so: 1) These freshmen are just so talented that they deserve to be on the field this year. (I hope this is the case.) 2) There are areas where we are weaker than the coaching staff would like and the freshmen could provide some help. (I hope this not the case!) 3) With this being the last season we will be competing for a national champonship for a few years, Dale wants to have his very best chance of winning this year so that may mean playing some freshmen. Does anyone have any info as to who these players may be? Anyone been watching fall camp at all? Who has looked good among all payers?
  8. We are all kind of ganging up on you - not really meaning to because I do understand your frustration but..... If we didn't have the Fighting Sioux Club (which includes many, many fans that are not rich), we wouldn't have had the success that we have had in many sports over the years, we wouldn't be able to recruit the talented young athletes that come to UND, we wouldn't have the money to go Division I AND we wouldn't have people concerned about where their seats are because not many people would be going to games.
  9. Although you are obviously disappointed, I look at it as a good thing. Apparently a lot of tickets have been sold if yours are the best seats available.

I agree - I would think it would be very difficult to add a game at this point.

The schedule in today's Herald did not include a Sept. 1 game. Is that a deal issue?

I agree - it must have been a rumor about the transfer. There aren't any unexpected WR transfers on the roster.

Any of these a real loss, maybe White? I heard that Rambeck didn't come back because a very good WR transferred in. Anything to that rumor?

Does UND do this? It appears it would be very beneficial to recruiting! http://www.in-forum.com/Sports/articles/173325

There was a D lineman (Ebanks) from Hibbing CC? Was there also a LB?

    Fall Camp

With an early game this year, the FB team must report fairly soon. Anyone know when camp starts? Any word about who may not be returning that we had expected to be there? Is everyone healthy, etc.? I heard a rumor that we will have a receiver transfer in from the DI school. Any info on him?
  20. The UND Athletic Department gave these plaques to first-time scholarship fund contributors (now the Fighting Sioux Club) for many years. I think this practice was discontinued at least 15 years ago. I am sure they haven't been produced for years but I would think someone could make one for you!
  21. You better go out and buy another set of season tickets! We need all the fans possible at our games!
  22. I don't live in GF anymore but welcome to the city and hope you enjoy it! AND I hope you become a huge UND fan!
  23. Thanks for the post - if you have any further info throughout the summer, let us know!
