  1. SDSU is absolutely loading up. Daum verballed to the Bunnies today!
  2. I responded to this last night but somehow posted it on another thread.... "We have offered Cretin DB, Tim Gordon, and are also looking at Cretin's Blake Banham."
  3. We have offered Cretin DB, Tim Gordon, and are also looking at Cretin's Blake Banham.
  4. Jayson - I am one of the many disappointed UND fans (living in FL) who will miss seeing the majority of our hockey games. However, I fully believe that you folks know what you are doing and that this was a "necessary evil". Thanks for your patience with all the outspoken fans and keep up the good work! Your department has improved dramatically over the last few years - much appreciated by those of us who follow UND sports very closely.
  5. We have offered Fritz. He also has an offer from Sacred Heart.
  6. It looks like UND may find their next placekicker in-state. This is part of an article from the Minot Daily News: *************** Senior kicker Ben Love booted a career-long 44-yard field goal in the Magicians' 34-27 overtime win over Fargo Davies on Friday. The kick, which very few teams can even consider taking, counted for the team's only points in the third quarter. Two Davies' touchdowns followed in the fourth quarter and without those three points MHS was looking at a two-score deficit in the final minutes of regulation. Love hit a 37-yarder in the second quarter and is 4 for 4 on the season. He is 7 for 7 on extra points and has seven touchbacks. Holmen noted that Love's field goals have increased MHS leads from one-score advantages to two-score leads. "Part of it is just where you're at," MHS coach Barry Holmen said. "If it's fourth-and-12 on the 25, (Love) has a good chance to make it and I would say almost a better chance to make it than to convert a 4th-and-long first down in that situation." Holmen was also pleased to see the late-game composure match Love's talent. "We lose if he doesn't kick the extra point after that last touchdown in regulation," Holmen said. "He pounded 'er right through." Love followed Friday's successful night with an unofficial visit to the University of North Dakota. UND fell to South Dakota State, but Love enjoyed learning more about the program he may kick for next. "The special teams coach walked me through the place, showed me the locker rooms and I got to go on the field during warmups," Love said. UND is at the top of Love's list of colleges that have shown interest in him as a place-kicker. Love said he hit a pair of field goals from 57 yards during practice Tuesday, but is intent on training as diligently on his kickoffs to ensure MHS a field-position advantage. "When I hit 'em good they're going where I want 'em to, but I'm still mishitting a couple every game," he said. "It really is just all about striking the ball right. If I get it right it goes about however far I need it to."
  7. A couple of recruiting items: C Kyle McKinley, 6'10', 215 from Stillwater apparently visited UND last weekend. G Vince Fritz, 6'2" from Overland Park (Blue Valley NW), KS is to visit one of the next two weekends. I do not know if we have offered either of these kids.
  8. Once again, I hope I am wrong! UM 45 UND 34

    Fire Muss

dlsiouxfan, on 08 September 2013 - 01:10 PM, said: I'm not trying to defend Mussman because his performance hasn't been overwhelming by any means, but we probably should at least give him the benefit of the doubt since this program gets next to zero support from our administration. **************** I am curious about your "zero support" comment - are you referring to things other than salaries? Do you have examples?

If Mussman is gone, Faison is bright enough to realize that it would be necessary to open the checkbook wider to get a good head coach. I think the salaries of assistants would increase as well - probably a bit slower than we would like but they would increase. You can't knock Faison for the low salaries. In running a business or an athletic department, it does not make sense to jack up the salary of an employee or coach just because similar positions with other companies or schools pay more. The employee/coach needs to earn it.
  12. QB offer: Keaton Studsrud, 6'1", 180, 4.6, St. Louis Park (Benilde St. Margarets), MN
  13. Thanks for your insight into the situation. You obviously have a much better understanding than the rest of us on this board.
  14. Lousy camera work so far!!!!!
  15. It is time to begin making predictions for Saturday's game. I certainly hope I am wrong. SDS 45 UND 34
  16. New offer: Michael Hughes, 6'3”, 295, 5.1, Las Vegas (Palo Verde), NV Has offers from CSU, Duke, Nev, UNLV, UTEP, NM St, UNA & S UT
  17. UND is showing some interest in Shazzon Mumphry, a 6'4”, 225 lb, 4.6, QB out of Louisville who played at Bottineau JC last year. Nice size and speed but what is he doing at Bottineau? He played basketball at Joliet JC his first year out of HS.
  18. Not good news - Santa Clara is the choice!
  19. Foster has verballed to San Francisco.
  20. Mike Daum, the 6'9" PF from NE, has narrowed his options down to Idaho State, Lehigh, North Dakota, Northern Colorado, & South Dakota State.
  21. Congrats to the Bison on another very impressive win! It is now time for my fellow UND fans to discontinue any debates with Bison fans about football - at least until we arrive at their level. I am proud of our successful run against them prior to their moving up but that is "old news"! We need to provide the support ($ and attendance) for our program to continue to improve. We have a long ways to go!
  22. Homer and others have provided some good recaps of their thoughts about the game and game experience last night. 108498 - I know that you are just getting back to UND and are very excited about our athletic programs. I am curious - from your perspective, how was the game experience: tailgating, music/atmosphere in the Alerus, crowd/student involvement, etc. Was it what you expected? Better, worse? Do you think students realize how big/important the SDSU game is next week?
  23. Bartels on the money for the most part!
  24. Yes, I did have Dooley and Fraase backwards - thanks for making the correction.
