  1. A rather inexpensive means of supporting the men's BB team..... Sponsor a Jersey on the Men’s Basketball Jersey Wall Student-athlete scholarships are the primary funding need for UND Athletics. Monies raised through the Men’s Basketball Jersey Wall will be used covering costs of summer school for our student-athletes. New NCAA Division I rules permit our coaches to have two hours of on the court skill instruction during the summer months, providing that the UND student-athletes are enrolled in summer credit hours. These skill instruction workouts are critical in the development of our student-athletes. Summer school is needed to graduate players on time and to continue UND’s strong record on NCAA Academic Performance Rate requirements. Gifts of at least $100 annually with a three-year commitment to the Men’s Basketball Jersey Wall will put your name on a nameplate underneath your jersey number. Our players and fans will be able to see the wall and know that those who paved the way to Division I basketball are making sure their experience is second to none. Copy and paste the following link www.undalumni.org/mbjersey into your browser to give TODAY!
  2. I just received Jones' first BB Newsletter of the year and there is no mention of another player. I may have had some bad info - we will see! If so, my apologies!
  3. I can't open the tweet at work, what was the kid's name?
  4. GFH - can I assume your post to mean that you routinely will talk about something that a friend asked you to hold in confidence?
  5. I realize this sucks and that I would be pissed if someone else did what I am doing but I think it will be good news - hopefully, this posting will prompt it to be announced - either formally or informally!
  6. I wish I could expand my comments but I can't - I am quite surprised the word hasn't spread yet. If my understanding of the situation is correct, this should be very good news for us!
  7. I believe there is another transfer (a talented kid) on campus that may or may not be eligible to play this year. Why doesn't someone in GF ask some questions and see if details can be provided?

I would be very surprised if we beat Idaho St. With our current lack of: 1) performance, 2) leadership, 3) confidence and 4) maturity - I am afraid we will lose by 10 or more.
  9. From what I understand, he gets nothing. He's a walk-on hoping to earn some scholarship $ in the future.
  10. What did Muss have to say in the halftime interview?
  11. I certainly don't want to shed a poor light on any of the kids I am going to mention but the following is a summary of the recruiting results of the last five years: 2009 Freshmen Haugen - left program Brekke - I also consider him part of the 2010 class. I wish he could have stayed healthy last year. He has been a good, steady player for us. Schuler - Also considered part of the 2010 class. I will preface this by saying that I really like Schuler. His scoring averages have been 9.2, 5.7 and 8.8. A great kid, a great shooter but not the scorer many had expected of him. Transfer Clausen - averaged 6.1 and 3.1 in his two years 2010 Freshmen (none of these kids were very highly recruited but they have obviously been great contributors) Anderson Huff Webb 2011 Freshmen Antwi - has contributed Benton - recruited walk-on with promise for $ if he contributed, that has happened Gentry - left program 2012 Freshman Blake - unrecruited walk-on Transfers Traylor - played a few games before grade issues hit Salmonson - redshirted Hobaugh - walk-on, redshirted 2013 Freshman Hooker - I expect this kid to be a stud for us Transfers There are five transfers (including the three who arrived in 2012) on the team this year. I expect a couple of them to be contributors Bottom line - we have landed very few blue-chip recruits in recent years. If it had not been for the 2010 class, the last few years may have been quite disappointing. If we want to compete year in and year out in the Big Sky, we need to bring in at least one stud each year - hopefully, that will happen. With the class of 2010 leaving combined with the above analysis, this is why I feel we need assistance with our recruiting. *** There certainly may be someone off the above lists or another error or two.
  12. We had the one very good recruiting class and getting Hooker was great but, for the most part, we have been unable to bring in many talented freshmen. That said, it is difficult to recruit kids from other areas to the remoteness and tough winters of North Dakota. That is why attracting recruits from the Cities and WI is so important - we have a much better chance of landing them.
  13. I would guess that Shay will have a positive affect on coaching but I hope his greatest contribution is the recruitment of some real talent to the team - especially for next year.
  14. From what I understand, MSU's offensive line and RBs are healthy. As I say each week, I hope I am wrong but..... MSU 37 UND 24
  15. Unfortunately, I think Ryan's assessment is "right on"!!
  16. This may be true but this isn't a very classy 2nd post from you about a 17-18 y/o!!
  17. I agree it would be outstanding if we landed Stickland as some of the big boys are after him. His mother wants him to play close to home so that likely works in our favor.
  18. We have offered McKinley but I implied in the above post that he was a senior. He is a junior so he would be a 2015 recruit. He also has an offer from UNC.
  19. Two more offerees have made their decision: PF Nate Gehrig, 6'10”, 220, Waukee (Waukee) IA Verbal to Pepperdine PG Jayquin McCloud, 6'2”, 170, Chicago (North Community), IL (3 Star - Scout) Verbal to Murray St
  20. I maintain the Wiki recruiting page and list players once I (or others) learn of any level of interest in a player. I would guess that if Leach attended camp there must be some level of mutual interest. I will add him to the list.
  21. I was being a bit facetious!!
  22. Offeree Isaiah Lesure, a 6'3", 170, 4.6 WR from Mount Horeb, WI must have been at our game yesterday. He verballed to the Bison today.
