  1. I thought there was more significant issues than the Johnson charge and trial. While I think he would be a great HC for us, I don't see any way that this would happen based on his not reporting the rape accusations to his superiors. I may be wrong but, after the Hardee ordeal, I don't think Kelley or Faison would attempt to push him through our HR department.
  2. I fully agree with you - winning that game was great at the time but I immediately thought that it may have been a very bad thing in the long haul!
  3. I initially had the same concerns but I would much rather lose 3-4 kids we have and 6-8 potential recruits than not wait for the right candidate to be available. Faison knows what he is doing. What is unknown is whether the guy he wants will say "yes".
  4. There is no way they will bring in nine candidates. It is possible there may be rather formal phone discussions with them but four at most will visit! I would guess that it will be up to Faison and Kelley which ones they are. That said, Faison's guy might not be one of these!
  5. A few more of our original offerees have made their decisions: TE Kornack to IL St (they have gotten a bunch of kids that we had offered) LB Rezin to Bryant CB Rowe to USD OT Fidler to Buffalo
  6. Another scary issue is that, at this point, we will go into next season with a couple of decent guards and no accomplished forwards or big men. It could be very ugly for the next few years!
  7. That is a ludicrous comment. Whether Notre Dame is overly talented or not, this was another example of SU winning a highly visible game that they weren't expected to win. That statement can't be made about a UND football or men's BB program in many years. Although I hate to say it, hats off to the Bison!
  8. While I was certainly hoping the HC would be named this week, I still believe that there is a "method to Faison's madness" - he certainly hasn't been sitting on his hands the last couple of weeks (of course, the Hardee fiasco didn't help). As far as his interview is concerned, he isn't going to provide full the full story of what is going on. Despite my having concerns about recruiting, hiring good coordinators and assistants before others may get them, etc., I would much rather wait a few days and get the "right" guy - the right guy to direct our FB program the next few years.
  9. I don't see that as a problem - Faison finds the right guy who accepts his offer. At that point, he submits an application. Obviously, he would have to pass the usual HR hurdles but that shouldn't slow things down much.
  10. While I fully agree with your comment - finding the money is always a challenge!
  11. Wiki is updated (to the best of my knowledge) but frankly, I am not working at it as hard as usual as the list will "start over" to a great degree in the next few weeks. I did see that we had offered a DE out of Raytown South who has verballed to TCU.
  12. You certainly may be correct that HR may require some sort of formal interview. On a semi-related issue, I would think that whoever is named the new coach (whenever that may be) will have also had a conversation/interview with Kelley.
  13. I am sure that Faison has had discussions/interviews (formal or otherwise) with a few potential candidates that haven't applied. He wasn't going to wait to see who showed up on the list. I am sure he was busy trying to "recruit" guys who were on the top of his list. I don't think a formal interview will be necessary. That said, you would think that a coach who isn't overly familiar with our program and facilities would want to visit campus before saying "yes"!
  14. gfh - below is just a reminder of the note you sent me when I posted that there was another BB transfer on campus (Cole Stefan) but I couldn't divulge my source.... I will be a little more professional and not call you a fake fan!! "Why cant you? Its because you dont no anyything.... Every other true sioux fan tell people inside info.. Judging by ur name u must be not a sioux fan and just und...fake fan."
  15. I am curious as well; however, I would guess that some interested candidates will not formally apply. They may be candidates worth consideration but if they have talked to Faison and realized that they likely wouldn't get the job, they won't apply so it doesn't look like they were passed over. As has been said, I would think Faison has known who his top 3-4 guys are for a few days. He may already know who is going to get the offer.
  16. Welcome to the board - it is good to see quite a few new members posting! I will let someone more knowledgeable answer your questions.
  17. Do we know the situation with Lauck and/or Dillon?
  18. My take is that Pflu went to Weber because he needed a pay check. He may be smart enough to know that he would never be provided the resources to be successful there as a HC.
  19. Damn - UM scores with 3 seconds left to win 46-44. We were only able to score 13 points in the second half!
  20. As you know, this is why we need a coach ASAP - to give kids "warm & fuzzies" about the future of the program.
  21. He would never consider a lateral move to ND.
  22. As the SFI guys noted, this is a big weekend for recruits visiting campuses. With the lousy weather in much of the country, we might be getting a break with prospects not being able to travel.
  23. Agree - very impressive!! Landing someone like that would probably end up being an improvement to an already good program.
