Hey felllas, TRIOUXPER here, coming at ya' from Lake Placid. What a great day, enjoyed some local cusisine, and some nightlife. Sat next to Matt Niskanen"s parents at the USA White vs. Finland game today, they are s asuper nice couple, just want to congradulate them for their son's recent success and all the best with future endeavors. Didn't make it to the Blue vs. Sweden tonight, however the white team looked very good against a tought Finnland Team. Lee was outstanding in his spot and moved the puck very well he will be a pleasure to watch this fall for sure, he has so much confidence on the ice. Oshie continued to play well winning draws, got some time on the power play units and penalty kill. The team as a whole moved the puck better tonight. Jack Skille scored an absolute phenomanal highlight goal. TJ had two very good scoring opportunities undressing one defenseman at the blue line only to be stiffled by Finlands goalie, them later had a 1 on 1 breakaway when he put one wide of the goal. He was an absolute monster down low though. He was so strong in the corners digging out the puck, and down low in front of the net, he didn't have any points, but if this keeeps up he will be on the scoreboard soon. All in all our boys are doing well, whatever happens from here is beside the point as this is a grwat experience for these guys and a good tune up for the upcoming season. Whether we like it or not I would bet on Wheeler and Pauckocich being on this team, as hard as it is to cheer for them. Talk to you all soon.

I'll certainly try. The cool thing here is that it only costs $15 for all the games, man that's a real bargain considering the level of talent that's on the ice every night. All practices are free and open to the public as well which is cool. One other little tidbit, this may be posted elsewhere but some may be interested, Lee is wearing #7, Oshie #97, and I believe Jones and Chorney are #5 and #6 not real sure which is which there I'll have to grab my program and verify.

Just wanted to say hey to everybody from Lake Placid, got here yesterday, and caught the last couple minutes of the Blue Teams game, saw Wheelers unassisted goal, pretty sweet. Watched the White Team pummel team Sweden, they looked really good. Lee and Oshie both had respectable outings. Lee was his usual calm, cool business-like self, and Oshie came out and set the tone for the game knocking guys around right from the get go, didn't have ant points, but probably won 20 of 25 draws, and did all of the other little intangibles. Hope to catch both games this evening so I can wath Jones and Chorney. By the way Lake Placid is awesome, if any of you ever get the chance to get out this way, do it, you won't be dissapointed.

JK makes a good point here about justifying draft positions. Hopefully with the understanding that these guys may not come right out of the gate and light things up, it's really hard to put a timeline on when a players impact might be felt, however.

Toews. Lee, Finley. Lee and finley because of the learning curve of a D1 defenseman, Toews because of all the attention he's garnered up to this point, and any other freshman that will see a regular shift this season, but I think those guys are the big 3.

I hope the "Oshie" bandwagon is moving slow enough for everyone to jump on now. A year ago there were questions about his skating ability just months ago people were wondering why they would bring him here and that he would need a year in the USHL, and that if he came here he would be wasting a year of eligibilty and would be fighting for limited playing time. Now there's talk about him being a first or second liner, I'm probably going to get flamed big time for this, I just find it a funny little ironic turn of events.

Just a couple thoughts here, I think there are certain things that make a great player, obviously God given skills, determination, work ehtic, a desire to succeed, none of these I truly believe are coachable, they are inherent. I have said in previous posts that people will be suprised when they see TJ play, reallistically he will have an adjustment period, but I have watched him over the last three years and he has continued to improve game after game, year after year. Congatulations TJ for attaining a lifelong dream and here's wishing you well with your future endeavors at UND and beyond.
-
Don't everybodt get excited now, just funnin' around with ya. However, no one expected Wheeler at #5 last year so as we all know anything can happen. Once again what we all think means squat when it comes down to it, we can only hope and specualte, but it's still fun.
-
Why is TJ going 24th overall in the draft such a suprise?
-
Congradulations Brian and TJ, can't wait till hockey starts.
-
No surprise there, I've been saying it for a while now, a great compliment nevertheless, along with all the other stellar talent coming in, I say this..... fasten your seatbelts fellas the next 2-3 years will be quite the wild ride.
-
I believe the other player for Moorhead might have been Ammerman. Good thing Lee and Oshie saw the light and headed the right direction.

Nice presentation of the facts THERE Canuck. Now, and I;m sure I will be scrutinized for this but would someone please post the link to the actual article or statement from Hockey Canada where it says Mr. Toews and his sblings would be overlooked for international competition on Team Canada, mostly cause I am not familiar with it and if others are please share. I am not refering to any article that holds the opinion of a sports writer either, just actual statements from Canadian Hockey Officials. I'm not trying to be a jerk here just seeking info.
-
I can hardly wait until I achieve "holier than thou" status so I can decide if, when and who is allowed to throw stones at who. Lord knows that some on here can get away with it while others are expected to play nice.
-
Careful there Canuck, there are many who post on here that don't appreciete fact, personal opinion and speculation always hold the most weight in these situations.

Hey, what about Indian Motorcycles, the company went under again after being revived only a few years ago, maybe the pressure from the left wing wacko's finally made them buckle.

I have to agree with DaveK on this deal, why attend such an evil institution when you obviously have such strong personal, and moral issues like you do, it must be just a terrible awful ordeal for you on a daily basis. I don't know how you do it, unless of course you attend the university for little or no cost, in which case that would make you nothing but a hypocrit with zero credibility, I'm sure that you have accomplished all that you set out to do by starting this thread, but you'll never convince anyone you are right going about it they way that you choose to do. Maybe you should enroll at St. Cloud State, you might get a little more sympathy from all of the other martyrs, do-gooders, and champions of truth and justice. By the way, Davek make sure you keep everyone posted as to times and places of your official "Protest to the Protest". I am sure that you can get many of us there to help the cause.

grahamcracker what a shame that you are missing out on some of your college experience by harboring some much animosity, now not everyone is a hockey fan, but don't you think your time would be better spent doing something positive instead of trying to incite people and bring more dishonor to yourself.

If you go back to the first page of this thread where cardinal stated that this was clearly a thread about Oshie being a better player on the WJC team than Mueller and I found that to be false, nobody compared anybody to anybody, it makes me sick that you guys have nothing better to do than knock down each other's recruits, but I'm the jerk here that's real intresting. Now all of you guys want to swing at me cause I made someone feel bad or hurt their feelings, so what, how about getting a thicker skin. If I ent on gpl and did something as foolish hammy and his merry band of bafoons would be all over me and Redwing anf the like would probably tell me that I deserve it for being so stupid. Boy do you guys ever want to have your cake and eat it, too. So to cardinal, state of hockey, sagard, redwing I'm so terribly sorry that I have offended you, please accept my deepest most heartfelt apologies. If you don't want people to call you out don't ask for it I guess. By the way I don't care who I'm "endeared" to, I am who I am and I know what I know, and if I have no credibility with you guys I sure won't be losing any sleep.
-
Exscuse me redwing, I guess you are the only one allowed to use sarcasm on an internet message board. C'mon give me a break.
-
Wel first of all I could have swore I logged on to SIOUXSPORTS.COM, and second of all we weren't talking about the gophers, sorry to burst your little yellow and brown bubble ther sagard. However I am a realist and know that the gophers have had and will have many talented recuits.
-
I know that YTTRIUM is right on the money here, don't forget the fact that TJ plays both ends of the ice. As I said a few posts back before all this WJC stuff started, I think people will be a little surprised when they see TJ play, he's a worker. I hate all this comparison stuff as I have also said before it takes all different types of talent and skill to make a TEAM. TEAM, that's the main thing here. Tj is a team player, don't you think he could have went to Sioux Falls last year and played and been productive? This speaks to his character also, he had unfinished business with his TEAM in Warroad and they all took care of it. He could have ended up in Sioux Falls this year instead of coming here, and put his plan of playing for the Sioux one more year away but he did the right thing and hung with his brothers on the Warrior hockey team. That's the kind of dedicated teammate I want skating next to me.
-
What we need is for the hard-core Sioux fans to get fired up, come on Goon where are you now, you always like to chime in on this stuff. Like it or not this is a SIOUX message board.
-
Since gpl is so lame maybe someone here will start a thread about Mueller so guys like cardinal and state of hockey have a kinder and gentler place to come and discuss this stuff.
-
First of all I am not nor will I ever be your buddy second of all I never said anything as childish as Oshie>Mueller or anything like that. Get the facts straight, go put on your brown and yellow jersey and jump in one of your ten thousand lakes.
