  1. He can't win the Hobey until after his second or third year, cause if he wins it this year along with the National title, and rookie of the year that would probably be enough for the Blues to want him in their organization and all of us fans would be cheated out of all that he brings to this team. So he'll just have to wait for that particular accolade.
  2. Oh, well i wasn't serious, kracker has spewed too many insults and too much hatred towards every one else for any one including the NC$$ to take him as a credible person.
  3. Goon, I don't get it. Troll alert for what? No krack remember you are from a seperate soveirn (sp) nation who does not want a ND state institution using your people's name.
  4. I'm AMERICAN, and damn proud to be, why not get on board the winning team for once krack. Just be the best you can be, live and let live, I don't get all the anger man.
  5. Krack, you act and talk like you are 100 percent soley responsible for this whole NC$$ ruling and appeal rejection, I find that hilarious. You must have an awful strong back to walk around supportung a head that big.
  6. Over on Goopher Puck Live the faithful are blaming all of their woes on Harrington, why don't we do that as well. Example: it's Harrington's fault for this whole damn name issue.
  7. Once again the one sided argument from kracker, how dare you challenge me with intelligence and reason, and by the way (insert krackers racial slurs and insults in this space for yourslef).
  8. Careful now there PCM. Don't give Yttrium too much credibility, if you remember he's not a "registered Indian", therefore he has absolutely no clue what he's talking about.
  9. I'm going to repeat myself. TJ and Toews are two completely different types of players, a head to head comparison of who is "better" than who now or anytime in the future is simply wild speculation at best, and why does it really matter ? I think they are both great and see no need whatsoever to split hairs of this deal. In my mind they are both equally fun to watch, and I hope they keep them on the same line cause they will be great together, that I'm sure of.
  10. I'm a huge Oshie fan as most on this board can already gather, but I think to say one is better than the other in regard to him and Toews is a little difficult, as they are both very highly skilled players, but each has his own uniqueness that they bring to the team, I think it comes down to finding out where you fit into the grand scheme of things then excelling in that role.
  11. Oh boy, here we go Toews > Kessel, Kessel > Toews = Flashback to Parise and Vanek comparisons.
  12. Amen to all of that, Sioux-cia. Just enjoy these guys and what they bring to the team, because some of them may not be here long. They are all hard workers, and know how to win, there's no media-darlings in the bunch, in fact I can't wait until Mr. Press conference himself rolls into the Ralph, he'll be leaving with his tai tucked between his legs, licking his wounds.
  13. Like I said before, not related to TJ in any way, shape or form. I'm just a fan of good solid blue collar type hockey players. I have, however followed him for the last three years, when he was an unknown commodity until he stepped on the ice at the MN state tourney three years ago. I knew he would be a great player and I'm glad we got the steal of the recruiting class and got him here. Just like St. Louis went and stole him in the NHL draft. Best of luck, and keep up the great work TJ.
  14. Congrtats TJ, keep up the hard work, glad you're wearing a Sioux sweater.
  15. I'm glad to see TJ playing with porter and Toews, this could be a productive line throughout the season. Both TJ and Toews look like they are adjusting well and seem to "click" when they are on the ice.
  16. Yeah, how about a little hockey chetter. I say keep your eyes on #9, and #7 this weekend, after breaking the ice and getting on the scoresheet last weekend hopefully they come out and really light it up this against Northeastern.
  17. It's hard to get any good analysis of players from a scrimmage like this as they do this more for the enjoyment of the fans. However Sundays exhibition was somewhat of a better indication of things. Smaby showed why he was deserving of the "C" as he was a solid physical force and leader on the ice. Lee was stellar and his adjustment time will hopefully be brief. Jones and Chorney work well together and I'm guessing Jones learned a valuable lesson from the goal that was scored on him. Stafford, Spirko, And Zajack could be first line for anyone in the country, so hopefully their dominance will continue. Toews had many opputunities in front of the net and made some good passes down there so it is just a matter of time before he gets on the scoresheet. After watching Sunday's game I'd like to see a big dose of watkins, Duncan, Kozek because that would be a great speed/scoring line. Fabian, Prphc, Kaip could be the heavy hitters. Radke is going to be a threat on the blueline with both him and Lee not afraid to get involved in the offensive side of things. Oshie was the best face off gut on the ice Sunday, without a doubt. Also he's always pusuing the play. I'd love to see him Toews and Porter play together, I think they could be the next Stafford Zajack, Spirko combo. One last thing, Finley moves well for a big man at least I thought he did as I watched him last night. Bottom line is this is going to be a great team when everthing shakes out and very fun to watch from a fans point of view.
  18. The funny thing about GK is that the very hate, abuse and hostility that he so persistnetly speaks out against, he somehow condones and rationalizes it against everyone else who does not share his sentiments, he wonders why people don't take him seriously. I want my cake and I want to eat it too, nice when you can make up your own set of rules, but hey, if it makes him feel better I guess that's all that really counts.
  19. I wouldn't say hanging around the fort, the article seems to indicate Mr. Oshie has better things to do with his time and energy than worry about a logo or a nickname bringing him down. It would also seem that he is indeed a person who may have a direct positive influence on some the native american youth in his area. Also being from Warroad he is no stranger to the logo issue as the school district there has seen some of this same type of left wing wacko activism.
  20. PCM, great article on the Oshie's. Just a couple thoughts here on this deal. I think this is a good example for everyone as to the level of success that can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and support from family, friends, ect. Instead of something as silly as a logo or any other excuse one might use for their lot in life. Also take advantage of opportunities that come your way and use it to improve upon yourself. This is a good lesson for everyone no matter what your ethnic background may be. Now a little on the lighter side of things. I wonder if part of TJ's scholarship went toward employing some bodyguards to escort him in and out of the hostile environment in which he has to practice and play in, I don't know how he could possibly concentrate on hockey or school with all of the anger and hostility.
  21. I'm not a hockey scout, so I watch the game as the average fan would, but I will try my best here. I thought Chorney was very physical, played great positional hockey, and on saturday got the game tying goal to send the game to a shoot-out which they eventually lost 4-3. All in all Sioux fans who are lamenting the loss of Green will be happy to know that Chorney, Lee, and Jones are 3 solid recruits who will be great on the blue line, none of the three panic they are all quite smooth. I guess Jones really likes to chatter and get into guys heads, as well. Hope it helps you out a little, as I said I wath the game as a fan therefore I can only give you analysis from a fans point of view.
  22. In regards to players switching teams at the camp i can only speculate. The people that I talked to said that some players come in and don't live up to expectations and some exceed ecpectations. They move guys from one to the other to get other players more playing time on a better line and vice versa. They change up the lines frequently and try different combinations of players. Again, this is just my opinion based on coversations with others. On a side note, concerning Wheeler, he's on this team without a doubt, like it or not. USA Hockey isn't going to keep him off because he played on a crappy Green Bay team. He had a great camp, and will be more than a fourth line hack at Minny, but as usual some people refuse to look at the whole picture and put more stock in their own opinion rather than base it on something credible. I know he's a gopher but this is Team USA, it's a whole different ball game here folks.
  23. Kessel stil doesn't do any of that, I watched him last night. Add to it he wins maybe 50% of his draws, and doesn't like to pass. From what I saw last night, if he gets the puck on his stick he's going to shoot it or at least try. The statement about no backchecking and not going into the corners is dead on accurate. I'm so glad he's going to be a gopher, they will finally have someone to (phil) Vanek's shoes. Now to the important stuff. The games last night were in the Olympic/Herb Brooks Arena, it's awesome just walking in there. With all due respect to The Ralph and all it's majesty, this is truly a breathtaking place, at least for me, knowing that the greatest upest ever in sports history took place here 25 years ago. The U.S. Teams continued their dominance again last night. Jones and Chorney both had solid efforts, all of our boys are doing well, they all seem to be disciplined and task oriented. They have all played very solid hockey from what I have seen. Lee showed some skating and puck handling ability last night taking it to the net around a couple guys and getting a shot on net, the big fella had some nice moves. TJ continued to play solid, no points still, however does the little things so well. Won most of his draws last night, backckecked, and was very strong in the corners again. The gamesstarted to get a little chippy as both Sweden and Finland are getting tired of being whipping boys. The extra-curricular stick work sent more than one of our players off the ice bleeding last night. Today will be intresting in those regards I'm sure.
  24. Talked to Wheeler, Niskanen, and Oshie yesterday, real nice guys. I know I said it would be hard to cheer for Wheeler, my only reservation is that he's a Gopher, otherwise he has the skills to make this team and deserves to based on the way he has played at this camp, hey would you rather see a team full of National Development Team prima donnas? I'd love it if more of the non-development team guys would make this team. Not trying to knock that program at all, just like it when the off the radar guys shine and get a chance to showcase their talents as well. That's why I think it's such an honor just to get invited to try out for this team. As I have said before whether or not our players make it this is a great tune up for these guys coming into the upcoming season, the size of some of these players and the speed of the game is a good indication of what is staring them in the face in just a couple short months. I'll try to give some kind of update after the games tonight.
  25. Just a quick thought or two here, 1. There is no doubt in my mind thet Greene has been working out in GF this summer, take that for what it is worth. 2. I would be very suprised to see him in a Sioux jersey next year, again take it for what it is worth but look at all the facts here folks. Nothing is official yet, and whatever he decides will be fine with me, but the next couple years will be great with or without him, it's just some thing that you get used to being a Sioux fan I guess. He's not thefirst one in this situation nor will he be the last. Good luck to you Matt whatever road you choose. You will always be part of the Sioux Family no matter what.
