Sagard, it's probably the same reason your hard core fans get hostile on your board when people come on it and spew their crap. I won't apologize for representing truth, justice, and the FIGHTING SIOUX way on a FIGHTING SIOUX message board, no other explanation needed as far as I'm concerned. It's amazing how you guys are always so shocked when stuff like this happens.
-
The fact of the matter is he came on here and started making comparisons, he either wanted to get a rise out of people or he's just not smart enough to figure this whole thing out here. Let me make a comparison, that would be like me going on gpl comparing Kessel to Vanek because they don't play both ends of the ice, a totally valid and reasonable comaprison that would go over like a fart in church. My point is don't come on here throw down like that and then expect sympathy cause it ain't happenin'.
-
Cardinal, you got a big chip on your shoulder, you are the only person that i can see making any kind of comparison between anybody here. Why wouldn't we here on a FIGHTING SIOUX message board want our recruits to do well on a once in a lifetime opportunity situation, I'm through with guys like you, go back to gpl and cheer on your own guys, please.

Just for the record, validation of TJ's spot on the Sioux roster was never an issue for me. As for the WJC team, lace em' up boys and let it all shake itself out, that's why they hold the evaluation camp. What kind of team would the U.S. have if they let all of us idiots pick our own emotional favorites.
-
Man do I love irony, Cardinal in all of his wisdom proclaims Mueller ahead of Oshie for a spot on the WJC team, that's a valid point, perhaps. The thing I find funny is the Everet Silvertips now want Mueller after TJ comitted to UND, after all it is his hometown team, I'm sure the hockey powers that be in the state of washington had been chomping at the bit waiting to see how things would play out for him.

I mean the broom resides
-
This may seem a little off topic but I recall seeing something about the "Friendship Broom" posted earlier in this thread. Well I found it, the broom now reides at the Italian Moon in the front of the restaraunt, along with tons, and i mean tons of other pictures, jersey's and other sports treasures (mostly hockey). If you haven't been in there lately it's worth the trip. The queso is worth the trip alone but the sports stuff is an added bonus. Lot's of pic's from this years hockey team and their playoff run, there's a good one of Smaby ringin' up Irmen. Also a cool picture of TJ from the high school tournament this year, and an awesome painting of Henry Boucha. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

Sorry man, I was scanning the list, and trying to post at the same time, plus trying to do my job, this is just way too much pressure for me.
-
Just saw this on USA Hockey, Tj Oshie, invitee to World Jr. Team evaluation camp, along with Lee and Jones, and Chorney, congrats and good luck to all of them.
-
Hey, raynman why do you always come on here and try to start stuff, maybe you don't have enough to do. My only point is this congratulations to this guy, best of luck, but who really cares, you might as well talk about what Denver is up to. How about talking about our assistant coaches. Man I'm glad we got Eades back here, this guy in Minny doesn't hold a candle to him.
-
Yawn, man you guys are really hard up for stuff to talk about devoting this much time to an assistant coach for the goofies.
-
Sorry fellas, really I don't mean to offend anyone, just bored, no hockey The truth of the matter is I wouldn't know any of these players if I bumped into them on the street unless they were wearing a helmet and a jersey with their number on it. I think we have many fine recruits coming and I am excited to see them all play this fall. Someone please hit fast forward and let's get the season going.
-
Nope, not family, just a fan of good hockey and players that play the game with lots of heart and dertermination, blue collar type players, gritty, you know, it's great to have superstars, but you need workhorses also.
-
Well AZSIOUX like the scouting reports have said, TJ can bring any game you want. I recall a post I think JLOOS had about a goal he scored last year in Elite league play at the Ralph last Oct. Shorthanded with two guys hanging on his back he took them hard to the net and top-shelfed a snap shot over the goalies shoulder, how he even got a shot off was beyond me, I was there, can he snipe one, oh yeah! Besides it's a number, you make it your own when you wear it.
-
#7 has not been worn for a whole season already, which upper class man would want to change their number now, most of them already have an established jersey #. Besides I don't care if you believe me or not, wait till Oct. then and you will find out for sure, as I have a long and storied history of spewing falshoods on this board.
-
Looking into my crystal ball i would say that the first 4 on your list are probably dead on there rainman.
-
Don't put your money on 9, put it on Lucky 7 and let 'er ride.
-
Back to the topic of new recruits and jersey numbers. If I were a betting man I might want to put some money on TJ wearing the lucky #7 jersey next year, and no surprise but I would expect Mr. Lee to have the double deuces on his back. No speculation beyond that as far as other recruits go.
-
This may be a little off topic but I was curious if any one out ther might know how many and who they were, student athletes that were Native American and proudly competed for UND and wore the logo with pride. Past, present, or future, ie. incoming recruits. Thanks.
-
DaveK, I guess great minds think alike. I realize that this issue is very emotionally charged on both sides, but who does this guy think he is coming into our house like that and talking smack, doesn't he realize no one here takes him serious just because of the sarcastic way he posted. Everyone is entitled to ther opinion but come on realize what you're saying and where you are saying it. I'm sure he's got enough feedback now to achieve the release he so desperately needed
-
Hey grahamcrakcer, maybe you should spend some time trying to get the people of Sioux Falls, SD, and Sioux City, IA to drop the "SIOUX" part of their cities' name, I'm sure a majority of the populations there are not "enrolled in a federally recognized Sioux Tribe".
-
I meant with myself and my Native American friends. P.S. they would have a good time withhim I'm sure.
-
I would like to extend in invitation to this guy to come on up and discuss this issue at length me myself and and the many Native American friends that I have. It would be really easy to get down to his level but I won't give him the satisfaction. My offer stands I can be found before and after most hockey games at some of the local watering holes, just come on up and we'll discuss it, you might feel better.
-
I might get flamed for saying this, but I don't think Chris or TJ would have too many problems getting playing time, as I have stated before I think some folks will be surprised when they see TJ play and I think the same could be said for Vandy. Again, I have to go with the coaching staff and what they decide, they know whats best for the team, and these recruits.

Pardon the spelling errors.
