  1. I would say at this point it is a matter of the almighty dollar vs. what Mr. Vandevelde would really like to do. I doubt there is room for him right at this pooint in time, unless someone else were to leave. I'm sure this has laees to do with whether or not he's ready to play vs. do we have the coin.
  2. You're right Dagies, I should have said with the exception of certain recruits to be more specific. However I was speaking in general terms, and I have never myself seen the likes of Watkins, Kozek, Duncan, Miller, or Martens, ect. Lee I have seen a handful of times, and Oshie being the exception to the rule for me as I have watched him many times over the last three years. Sorry for the confusion folks.
  3. Intresting observations, like everyone else I can't wait until this fall to see how this all shakes out. Most of us never see any of these guys until they get on campus, so it is difficult to form an opinion of what type of roll they may fill.
  4. Clemente and Thorne said it best during the NCAA'S, praising the size and ability to punish an opponent, that's a great formula for defense and I for one hope it will continue.
  5. And just in case any one is in need my specialties are eating Red Pepper grinders, Italian Moon queso, and drinking many different brands of beer, oh and watching hockey.
  6. Hockey, like every other walk of life requires many different talents to make a team good. All of these players bring with them strengths and weaknesses, that's what makes it intresting, the coaching staff hopefully realizes this and plays to their strengths, and improves on the weaknesses, hell Commie wasn't the most fluid skater when he hit campus, I think he did all right for himself.
  7. Just a side note here while we are back on the subject. I felt the comparison between TJ and Brady was "unfair", for lack of a better term I guess, as they are two completely different players when it comes right down to it. Murray is more of a speed guy like a Panzer. TJ, from the times I watched him anyway is more of a physical type player, coupled with the fact he is very strong on his skates as well as having a very "uncanny" hand-eye coordination. I agree with Yttrium about the passing and the sniping I have seen it mant times over the last 3 years, he is also a very unselfish player and is content with an assist as well as a goal, plus he's not afraid to put a lick on you either.
  8. I think that some of you will be pleasantly surprised when you get a chance to see TJ play. Like everyone else I feel he will have some adjustment time, but I think he may surprise a few people. No doubt about it though, hard work will always have a good effect on yourself and the people around you.
  9. Sorry, Goon didn't mean to get you all fired up there. Actually i was just goofing around, this thread has really degenerated. I believe the topic was Murruy leaving, Oshies in, maybe we should stick to that.
  10. Boy, I sure hope the Marvins find another player like TJ to bring in up here next year, without a superstar the whole program might fold.
  11. We can't meet at Franks cause we both work overnights at Marvin Windows
  12. Hey raynman03 since we are on the topic you've been awful quiet lately, anytime you want to "slug it out" off line you know where to find me, i haven't gone anyhwere.
  13. I meant public form, and any skeletons. By the way I never said intelligent specualtion is bad, I said let them lace up their skates and see what happens, we may be surprised how it all shakes out.
  14. Hey raynman03, you are right, because we know each other we have discussed things that I wouldn't post on a public. However, if you want to call me out, maybe I'll search the archives and see if you have ant skeletons out there, perhaps a mid-season rant about the coaching staff?
  15. Find one post on here where I've slammed any player.
  16. OK, DAR, you win man, let's speculate, call each other names, and argue, but the bottom line for me is not to pass judgement on any of these guys until they get a chance to lace 'em up with the best.
  17. My whole point in this discussion is let's see what happens, until then how about we spend an equal amount of time hammering on all of the other recruits coming in and how they will "adjust" to WCHA competition.
  18. Well, well, well Dar sorry I seemed to have touched a nerve here. I guess if TJ wasn't ready to play hockey here next year would it really matter if Murray left or not? Look at the numbers do we really need all these forwards ? Do you think that it is possible there is more to the story than you seem to know? I have to give the coaching staff some shred of credibility here, I believe if they didn't think he could perform it wouldn't matter who was coming or going he would be in Sioux Falls.
  19. All apologies in advance to you DAR but I find it laughable that your plan for Oshies development is better than that of the Fighting Sioux coaching staff.
  20. No doubt the loss of Murray is a blow to this team, but reality is he is gone. I'll take a blue collar guy like TJ any time, without question.
  21. I hope nobody out there takes this the wrong way, but the question I have is this... does anyone think Moreland is still on the radar, is it possible he may have gone by the wayside?
  22. Yttrium, you seem to have the scoop on all of those northern Minnesota boys. I wonder if we have ever tipped an adult beverage together at Izzy's or Main Street before or after a game at the Gardens.
  23. I have a feeling the clock may be ticking on Hardiwck, he's got to much potential for him to be available much longer, someone is bound to pick him up.
  24. Maybe someone will get Beaversoned
  25. In reference to no one wanting to schedule the gophers next year, keep in mind if Mr. Kessel doesn't deliver a National Title It'll be a big bust, then prepare yourself for the fallout of smack that will ensue, just like when Zach played two years and didn't win a title.
