Pam Bernhardson lost her “gloves-off-bench-clearing brawl” with cancer Monday. Her son Tanner, a junior defensemen at Red River High school had a home game tonight against West Fargo Sheyenne. Sheyenne’s team bus stopped at Tanners house before the game. Class Act.
I don't know about you guys, but there are microphones that they have hung on the glass in each end of the rink at about the hashmarks and I've mistaken them for the puck several times.
8 in Fargo - 2 at Scheels, 2 at Southwest, South High, the HAT (old Teamsters), Coliseum, Angels Rink (if you want to count that)
4 in WF - 2 at WFH and 2 at the new rink
Interesting comment from Halliday in the article:
"I think college is not only more fun," Halliday said, "but I think it's better for development to get to the next level."
Was home at lunch and the Washington Capitals Stanley Cup celebration was on NHL Network. The team and staff were all up on stage and they were all introduced. I thought it was interesting that Gersich was introduced. Joe Beninati, the TV play by play announcer for the Caps, said (I'm paraphrasing) "From the campus of North Dakota to Stanley Cup Champion...not a bad way to leave college" or "not a bad couple of months"....something like that.
What does this mean for a kid who grew up dreaming of winning the Stanley Cup Playoff Game on SS.com? How about your family and support system that helped you along the way?
