I'd have to refresh my memory, but I think it was to Parise's benefit to get to the NHL before the lockout, knowing that a lockout was coming. I think this way he could sign a larger rookie deal as the rules on that were about to change. Something along those lines... I actually think if there wasn't a lockout coming that year, he may have stayed.

Brees will be back with NO. Keenum just agreed to a deal with Denver (terms undisclosed at this time). It sounds like Cousins will be with Minnesota on a 3 year deal @ $28M/year, possibly all guaranteed.

I agree with @SJHovey that it looks like CC #15, in an attempt to clear the puck, gets his stick on the puck and hits it away from the net and into Terry's skate, which then sends the puck back into the net. I'm not sure if that matters, though. If Terry made a kicking motion (which he did) and the puck goes from his leg or skate into the net, it shouldn't be a goal.

Agreed that the US was rolling early and let it get away late. They had good puck control, were skating well and were outshooting Slovenia pretty bad. Also agreed that they could go winless during these Olympics. Regarding Pierre's comments - I took it to mean that he said those guys would be in the NHL by the end of the year...after their college season is complete. I didn't think he meant going to the NHL directly after the Olympics...but I could have misheard or misunderstood him too.
