  1. UND wins 25-18 and wins 3 sets to 1. Another good performance by the ladies.
  2. Sac State goes on a bit of a run to get within 2 at 18-16, but UND scores the next 3.
  3. UND up 16-11 in the 4th.
  4. UND leading Sac State 2 sets to 1. Just starting the 4th set. No announcer on the Big Sky TV webcast.
  5. Smells like troll to me.
  6. I was responding to Johnny Boy who doesn't think that minors getting caught is a big deal because he believes that all college students drink. If the players were caught, and were punished, then everything is as it should be. If they were not punished, they should be. I don't think that most of us know for sure whether anyone was actually caught doing something, or what they might have been punished for. We have a brand new poster alleging things with no evidence to support it. We are just supposed to believe them. And we had a player or 2 that had some kind of punishment, without knowing what the punishment was for. The 2 don't automatically go together.
  7. People that respect the rules and the law care. We understand that doesn't include you and other NDSUAAS fans. If the players were caught breaking team rules, or breaking the law, they should be punished. Rules apply to everyone and need to be enforced.
  8. WatchBigSky.com or AmericaOneSports.com
  9. Whether UND would be interested in moving to the Big 10 as an associate member would depend on how the NCHC is doing at the time, and on the terms of becoming an associate member. If there is a benefit for UND to become a member they will definitely consider it.
  10. You are correct. South Dakota has policies against giving more than 1 year contracts to coaches at public schools. They are the exception that proves the rule.
  11. Because it is very difficult to get colors to match on different materials.
  12. A few months ago they didn't have a way to schedule UND for 4 years. They got something done. You can believe what you want, I believe that they will find a way to play UND on a regular basis. I think that it's important to the fans on both sides.
  13. The fact that it is going to be a 2 year deal was in the article I linked. My guess is that it will be a 2 game series every year, switching back and forth between Minneapolis and Grand Forks. Both sides already realize that the interest is very high for both fan bases. I don't think that everyone at U of M realized how high the interest was from their fans until they started getting feedback after it was announced that UND wasn't going to be on the schedule.
  14. There is no guarantee of a successful coach staying any more than there is of a losing coach getting fired. Coaches move on all of the time for a variety of reasons. But a contract in place for more than a year gives the image that the coach will be in place past the end of the year. That is why multiple years left on a contract is important to recruits. Faison's been in the business for years. He has done a lot of good work at UND. I'm pretty sure that he'll make whatever decision he thinks will be best in the long run. Some people will probably disagree with him no matter what he chooses.
  15. You keep saying that you don't think there was a reason to extend. Almost every college coach now gets an extension when they are down to 1 or 2 years left on their contract, unless the school plans to get rid of the coach. I don't think there are any year to year contracts in college sports, at least not in Division I major sports. Very few coaches work the final year of a contract in college sports. My post explained why they extend contracts. I wasn't comparing anything to NDSUAAS. I was talking about college coaching contracts in general. Remember, Mussman was and is recruiting against a lot of schools, not just NDSUAAS. But if you want to keep comparing the situation only against things in Fargo, just go ahead.
  16. A recruit has narrowed his choices to 2 schools. The 2 schools are basically even in his mind. One coach has a contract for 5 years, which means he should be around for the whole time the recruit is in school. The other coach has a contract that ends at the end of the year. Which school is the recruit going to choose?
  17. I don't think that it is North Dakota law. I think that the Grand Forks Public Schools made the decision on their own.
  18. Obviously they don't. Some states do, Wisconsin is one. Other states don't. Maybe you would like to move to California and start a campaign.
  19. Why, is the high school joining the NCAA?
  20. There are rarely any tickets available for walk-up other than people selling their extras outside the building. Tickets for most games are sold out in advance.
  21. I think it is probably closer to 100-125 cars per game. The ramp usually isn't close to half full, not all of those are going to the game and I believe the the ramp holds less than 500 cars.
  22. It looks like the Gophers will be back on the UND hockey schedule for 2016-2017 according to this, http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/274808/. Contracts are in the works.
  23. Not normally. A second, medical redshirt is usually only given as a last resort if the player has to miss a Junior or Senior year after using his regular redshirt year at the beginning of his career. Medical redshirts are not given to everyone, especially at the DI level. In this case, I would only see him getting another redshirt year if he was injured.
  24. Like most of this discussion, that is almost impossible to predict right now. It will depend on how things end up being structured. I believe that when Montana was looking at moving up a couple of years ago they thought it would cost $4-6,000,000 at a minimum. That would cover additional scholarships for football and for women's sports, plus increased coaches salaries and travel costs. If this 2nd division ends up with a compromise of lower than 85 scholarships, and brings all 4 of the Dakota schools into the same football conference, that number could be lower. But that number will definitely be in the low $20,000,000 range anyway.
  25. I guess that SDSU doesn't count.
