A) The Bison are as good as they think they are, probably even better. B) If the two teams played 10 times, UND would be lucky to win twice. C) The teams aren't on each other's schedule... D) The Bison aren't insignificant to the Fighting Sioux FB team...one word: Recruitment. E) Cowardliness has nothing to do with the Bison not scheduling UND in FB. Without going back and painfully going through DaveK's thoughts on instigators vs. enforcers/retaliators, I'm hoping that even DaveK is not oK with this ridiculously cheap hit . It was a cheap shot, exponentially magnified with being dangerously close to the boards, and hopefully somewhere down the road someone will give him a beatdown in either practice or a dark alley somewhere, or maybe both. Unfortunately enough time will pass before Downie has what's coming to him, and anyone involved with the incident will have cooled off enough that Downie will only get 1/10th of what is coming to him. He'll probably end up getting Greened in practice somewhere down the road and only get roughed up a little bit. I'd actually be ok with this hit IF it had been not so close to the boards, AND it had been done to Punko'biach, AND Prpich or another former Sioux player had been the hitter (of course it would have had to been done before the beatdown that Greene had already given him).

Being an admitted gopher lover, you no longer get an opinion to why the gopher's should ALWAYS get the late Friday game, no matter what seed they get. Yes, I'm sure the players and coaches probably appreciate the extra hours of rest, but what it boils down to is that it seems like slap in the face when your team comes in with the #1 seed, and they have to play in the afternoon.

Even though I'm fairly new to the board (<125 posts) I knew better than try to argue with DaveK, but some of the stuff that goes through his fingertips is so asinine, that I can't help but to call SHENANIGANS on him. DaveK, I have every right to tell you that it's wrong that your two favorite college hockey teams are UND and UMTC. A Dallas Cowboys fans second favorite team can't be the Redskins. A Vikings fan second favorite team can't be the Packers. A Broncos fan second favorite team can't be the Chiefs. A Dodgers fan second favorite team can't be the Giants. Getting the idea yet? Unless your brother, son, uncle, best friend is playing for the gophs/sioux, pick a team, and start cheering against the other, even if them losing would hurt the team you chose to cheer for SOS. You can call it wrong that I cheer for NDSU FB and UND Hockey. But guess what? Although the two schools may be bitter rivals, the two programs aren't bitter rivals. Even though UND may not my minny's biggest rival, minny is one of UND's top rivals.

I knew that I'd get this kind of banter from Sioux FB fans when I proclaimed my love for NDSU FB, but I can deal with it. There's quite a few of us out there. I wouldn't compare being a UND hockey fan and a NDSU FB fan to cheering for the NY Yankees, and the Boston Red Sox. I wouldn't even compare it to cheering for the 49ers and the Oakland Raiders. It's more comparable to cheering for the A's and the Giants. But it's certainly not even close to the same as cheering for the the 7 time D1 Hockey Champs and the what is it...oh yeah, the Minnesota golden gophers. As far as a UND vs. UMTC game in the west regional this last year, I was hoping for one. But I wouldn't go as far as to say that I was cheering for the gophers. How disheartening would it have been to lose to the last seed two years in a row? Would you have worn your Air Force t shirt/game worn Friday night or Sat? Of course the HC t shirt/game worn would get worn the other night;)

Well Dave, I went to school at NDSU, and since they do have a football team, I'll cheer for them. Since they don't have hockey, the logical thing seemed to cheer for a team that is only 75 miles away. Even a Bison FB fan has the good sense not to cheer for goofer hockey

Yeah, DaveK you need to hand in your "Sioux hockey fan" card to have a corner cut off of it. I can see being a UMTC football fan, and also a UND hockey fan, but not also a goofer hockey fan? Pretty much makes no sense. I'm proudly a NDSU Bison football fan (anyone catch that game on Saturday ?), and of course a Sioux Hockey fan. But I'm always (well not always, it's good to see a ND team doing well in the NCAA playoffs, especially in D2, that'll change though when UND gets moved up) cheering against the Sioux Football team. I get sick at just the thought of cheering for goofer hockey.

In all fairness DaveK, you did call a group of people "pretty stupid" for purchasing t shirts. TheLillah didn't actually call anyone "stupid" in his post. He was merely wondering about the caliber of graduates from Southern Utah.

I think he's referring to the ones that they kicked ass with last year Pretty sure that there's at least one other thread about the Nike Swift Jerseys somewhere. So you can probably find the info there. If you're too lazy to look, and willing to take my word (probably shouldn't), from what I remember, Yeah, you should be able to purchase the jerseys sometime, IF, Hackstol/the team/whoever, decides to use the jerseys again this year. I hope they break them out for the Minnesota.

I always thought that these people were just too dumb/lazy/stupid/overconscientious to look in their rear view mirror (btw-great pearl jam song), some of them actually are that, but there are actually people that are "policing" the highways/interstates, that will drive the same speed as the person that they're passing/or being passed by, just to "police" the roads. IMO these people should be followed to their next stop and given a beatin'. Well, on second thought, you start beatin' these people, then where do you stop? Pretty soon your giving a beating to anyone that annoys you.
