  1. I'm not going to say that you're racist, or that you aren't. But, having Caucasian friends doesn't mean that you are not racist. I bet Jeremiah Wright has many Caucasian friends, but that guy is definitely racist. I have friends that are NA. I have been to a rez (several). I have been to NA friend's homes on and off of the rez. I don't pretend to know what it's like to be NA, but I do know that as long as NAs want to be victims, they will continue to be. Racism still exists in America, unfortunately. However, millions of people (black, Asian, Indian, Native Americans, Russians, Irish, Germans, Africans, Mexicans, Arabs, etc.) have overcome it. It seems that those that want to move on have, and those that want to be a victim, will continue to be.
  2. I'm not Jewish, and I certainly don't speak for them, but I'd be all for the Fighting Germans. Another thing I'm for: If the Sioux Nation doesn't want UND to use the Fighting Sioux name (I do think it should be put to a vote, but I think the Sioux people will get effed by their own tribal elders, and no vote will be made), I hope that another NA tribe will step forward, and offer up the use of their name.
  3. So, a person with a PHD would be assumed to be as credible as another person with "real empirical evidence other than hearsay?" Case in point, just look at all the PHD holders that are preaching global warming (without "real empirical evidence" btw).
  4. Someone get me some duct tape QUICK! I think my head is going to explode!!!!!!!
  5. 1. A rink wide flat screen should roll down to center ice during the pregame so that the opposing team can see the pregame video. 2. I know that it's already been mentioned, but it's worth mentioning again, more Leine's (or whatever, just something besides Miller Lite) beer stands throughout the Ralph. Nobody should have to walk more than two sections to get a beer. Even better, let's get some coeds selling beer in the stands. 3. The bigger DI football programs do this: The student section has mandatory cheering practices before the games. Obviously this would only happen when big time opponents are scheduled. 4. See number 2.
  6. Not a big fan of Hennen doing the PA anymore. He didn't do a bad job at the F5, but to say the least, I'm glad I don't have to listen to him very often (I do like his radio show though). I don't expect other PAs to pronounce all Sioux players names correctly, but Hennen should know that Chay pronounces his name Genoway, not Jenoway.
  7. Sounds like you're afraid of your FB team loosing the Nickel? Being afraid of losing the Nickel is no reason to be content with not renewing the rivalry.
  8. Wow! I'll be able to spot that thing from the other side of the Ralph.
  9. As I'm sure most of you know, Bob Golic (Mike and Mike show on ESPN) played football for ND. I don't know what day it was this weekend, but Golic was being interviewed on some sports show college hockey segment. As it turns out, Golic worked the penalty box occasionally for ND's home games. I'm guessing he didn't get too much lip from the "cheaters" who were sent to the box.
  10. Nice "welcome back to town" boys from the GF Popos. At least it was a warning.
  11. It was so ridiculous, that LOLing isn't uncalled for. TF happened tonight? I think I saw it worded on another thread...DISAPPOINTING.
  12. I looked into the prints a couple of days after the F5. I thought I had read that all the prints were sold, but can't find anything about that now. Anyways, here's a link to the WCHA print. Other than the gopher paintings, he's got some pretty cool stuff.
  13. I'm sure if given the choice of being named the Hobey Baker winner, or the MOP of the Frozen Four, JPL would choose the latter every time. Goon, I think that you're right about the the Hobey Finalists having similar numbers to Oshie's if they played in the WCHA. Would love to see Oshie's numbers if he played in the CCHA.
  14. unless the games conflict and cannot be carried live. The above statement leaves me to believe that since the games are not being shown live, that ESPN is willing to let another (or maybe same company, just different name) company pick up (pay for) the feed and show it live.
  15. This from CollegeHockeyNews.com; CAA Tournament Times and TV Schedule CHN Staff Report All NCAA tournament games will be televised exclusively by ESPN and its sister stations this season, unless the games conflict and cannot be carried live. This is a departure from previous years, when the Regional games were produced by ESPN Regional then offered to Regional Sports Networks or local stations around the country. ESPN is emphasizing its college sports channel, ESPNU, now. Hopefully this means that UND's fist round game will be picked up by Fox Sports and/or the FSSN. However, this probably means that ESPNU will be the only one carrying the Midwest Region final game.
  16. I would have bet money that I was opening up the video of Hirsch taking a run at the goal.
  17. Or maybe he didn't mean literally today, and was just referring to the fact of all the technology available to us. I didn't follow the above link, but I'm assuming it was the "inadvertent" or "I effed up again and blew the whistle way to early again" play. I don't know...those things happen. Luckily it didn't cost the Sioux a goal. At least it wasn't another reviewable goal that was effed up. OMG, am I defending D Shepherd?
  18. Not blaming Hunt for the airline losing his luggage, but anyone who has flown as much as he has should know enough that items like your ref apparel, skates, should be carry on items.
  19. What was the deal with the refs tonight? Marco Hunt was listed as the ref, and Freeman was listed as an AR. Also, the real ARs, whoever they were, were wearing black jackets instead of the usual stripes. Was Hunt a linesman? That would explain some of the questionable offsides calls.
  20. It looks like the Big10 picked up Friday's game, and the Minnesota Gophers Hockey Network (FoxSNN) has Saturday's game. Assuming that you're talking about UM v DU? TV Schedule
  21. Just pulled this off of Goon's blog; Per the UND coaches show tonight the Voice of the Sioux Tim Hennessy says that Trotter is in Lincoln trying to get on with the Stars. Tim said on the Broadcast that USHL commissioner Gino Gasparini is his source. I did comment on this on the blog page. The only thing I could think of is that Trotter is trying to prolong his college career, i.e., pulling in as many college chicks as possible. Why else would he go the USHL route, other than to retain his NCAA eligibility. Maybe he has life long dream of joining the Sioux after his USHL stint.
  22. I couldn't hear the broadcast, but I'd guess this is normal.
  23. Does anybody have any idea why the play was reviewed? Couldn't Adam remember if he whistled the play dead before or after the goal was scored? Does Thomas Callahan the 3rd (aka Tommy Boy) hit the referees with a tack hammer on their heads before or after the games?
  24. Good win for the Sioux tonight...obviously. Most important thing to come out of tonights win, was to get the win after having UND's second goal whistled off. That is HUGE!
