I listen to KFAN, A LOT... Puffy may be a gopher homer, but not in the sense of Sid being a gopher homer (I think people should stop using the word homer, and start saying sid instead). He almost always gives UND credit when credit is due. He'll also definitely let you know when/why the gophs are playing poorly. I've never really understood why so many people on this board give puffy such a bad time (other than the fact that he's a gopher fan-which is understandable)? 95% of the time he has nothing but good things to say about the sioux program. I can almost guarantee that when umtc travels to the ralph in december, at worst he'll predict the Sioux walking away with 2 points. Sid on the other hand would guarantee a sweep, and probably predict a 41-0 Friday night score.

You've misunderstood me...I was only saying that you don't want to piss off the boys from NoDak more than they already are. Don't fan the flame. Don't give UND another reason to bring their best game Sat night. I'm all for the MTU fans chanting overrated.

I don't know...when the Sioux split the tech series (6-2 Sat-if greico/walski is in net, 4-0 if it's Lammy), their tie vs. BC and win over MSU still look pretty impressive. I predict the #1 spot from start 'till finish:)

If I were the Tech student section, I don't think I'd fan the flame by chanting "overrated" until the games over Sat night.

I would have to say that UND Hockey is the premiere team in ND. However, when was the last time 20-30k people followed the hockey team anywhere?

I don't think UMTC losing to the Bison was an embarrassment to the gophers because it was the Bison. It was an embarrassment because the goofs are supposedly Div 1A in the Big 10, while the Bison are Div 1AA. It's almost the same as if the gopher men's hockey were to lose to Holy Cross again.

Holy S***! Nothing like traveling 1706 (one way) miles to only play on crappy ice, and then to have the game called after two periods. Would a person have to lose an appendage to have the right to whine? I'm glad to have made the trip to the dump they call the Metrodome instead of Boston. It's ALWAYS good to see the gophers lose.

Can you point me in the right direction Dave to help back up this statement? I'm failing to find any info on the web that supports what your saying. I would actually like to see the facts for what they are.

You might also want to check out "sopcast." A lot of the time the quality they have (IF they stream the game-they do have a lot of hockey) is almost as good as what's on your tv, especially if you run their stream through your RealPlayer.

I've found (not necessarily for the sioux-cast, but many other web casts) that if you run the video through the RealPlayer media player, it looks a lot better. Just copy/paste the sioux-cast URL into the RP address bar, or open up "file" in RP, then paste onto there.

DaveK, Your two posts, directly above this one are totally naive. Yes it's true the most of the time an armed robbery ends with no one getting shot. But to say that all of the cases you've heard about ending well is wishful thinking. Google the following phrase "convenience store armed robbery shot." Things definitely didn't end well for all the people in those articles. I'd feel a lot better going into a convenience store in the middle of Crackville or Methtown if I was armed. Also, what a good deterrence against getting robbed if it's well known that your cashier is armed. While your googling, check out how things are going for Australia with their gun ban. Not well. Almost all violent crime has risen. You should really take a hunters safety course sometime. I think you'd change your views on a lot of your issues with guns. Don't worry, the hunters safety course isn't 10 hours of propaganda about hunting.

Just heard on tonights news (KVLY) that they're going to hold off on 4 of the 5 rinks. Will possibly build them for 2009. Also, I thought today was the day they were going to unveil the new name of the franchise?

Like someone said earlier in the post...Hooligans is a few doors down. Watched the two regional games (actually 3 if you count the almost loss to AF by UMTC), at BDubs, but ended up watching the F4 at Hooligans. Not as crowded as BDUBS, and there was a pretty good Sioux following there. I know, we jinxed the team by moving our watering hole. SORRY!!!!!!!!!!! Not really sure how big Goodfellas is, but they do sell their Pizza at Holligans.

Unfortunately, not going to Boston. That would AWESOME. But I will be in the TC area for BISON Gophers which should be almost as awesome. Where's a good spot to go near the Dome to catch the UND Vs. Northeastern game??

Yeah, I know what you mean...Alec Baldwin, Tim Robbins, George Clooney, Jane Fonda, Sean Penn, Janeane Garofalo, the d bag running for Senator in Minnesota, Barbara Streisand, Susan Sarandon, Rosie "FF" O'Donnel, the list could go on and on and on, but you get the idea. Find it hard to believe that the students wouldn't buy all of their tickets. It looked like the student section was fairly full vs. Mantitoba. Are that many students going pheasant hunting this weekend? I did actually check Ticketmaster, and they didn't have any better seats than when I checked this last weekend.
