Look above. I remember being carried around the entire field as myself and a couple others hung on to the goalposts. (we were real young, 5th or 6th graders) Then crowding around Mooney as he was interviewed and chanting Mooney, Mooney, Mooney as they could barely hear him. GREAT STUFF!

Mooney enough said

I remember when he had Krebsbach on the 4th line there. (samson) Then Nick goes to RR and plays on the 1st line for the best team in the state, hmmmmm something wrong there?
-
Yeah, he was a really hard worker. That other kid that worked out there though basically ran the show. Not Ziggy, but that other kid. Not sure what happened to him, but man did he do a great job! He was a great athlete too.
-
Yeah, not sure he would head down to the Central level. Last I heard he was running Kraft? Boy has that place gone downhill in the past year, new management or what?
-
Yeah, Ziegler tends to bring in some good talent year after year, they just have a tough time putting it all together. He hasn't had a true pitching coach for years and that tends to hurt in the formation of a bullpen. I wish more people would get out and watch the baseball team during the year, as those games are very fun. I'm not sure if people just don't know about the games or if they don't want to make the trek to Kraft but they sure are fun to go to. More and more people have been coming in the past few years and hopefully that trend will continue. On my wish list for UND is a 2-3 million dollar baseball field by the Betty and REA. It doesn't have to be anything special, but just closer to campus. The bleacher seating would only have to hold about 1,000. Then I would make both a large patio type area along one baseline and a "grassy noll" or hill along the other, so when people aren't there it doesn't look bare, but when they are they have somewhere to sit. I guess I better head over to the C-store to pick up some lottery tickets!

Good for Todd, he's a good guy and should do a good job there. Like I said though, it's a pretty thankless job so hopefully he enjoys it. Now the question is: who will take the reins at GFC? I would think Dan Carlson would naturally step in, but maybe he doesn't want it? Who else in town would maybe be interested? My guesses for applicants: Dan Carlson, Dave Vonesh, has Brian DeVillers graduated from college yet, he would maybe apply?

Speaking of that idiot Duncan, his blog is still available to view on the net and is very interesting. For those of you that are interested in that kind of weird thing the site is here. If you go back and read from the beginning you can follow his transition into the evil person he is today. I felt pretty ugly after reading it as it is pretty weird and sick and it will make you pretty angry. It is also quite long so give yourself some time if you are going to read it. I'm not trying to advertise anything for this idiot, but I just find this stuff fascinating.

A couple things, he's screwed up on more then one occasion with eligibility and requirements for the student athletes. And he just comes across as a big timer IMO. I don't hate the guy by any means though. That position (AD for GFPS) is such a thankless job that I would never want it. You just have to be the goat all the time and you are rarely the hero...unless you somehow bring in a bunch of money for every single team so they can all get new uniforms every year, travel to out of state tourneys, drink cold Gatoraide and wipe with 3-ply toilet paper.

Wouldn't suprise me if that goon just lied to the paper so that he looks big time. He's got to do something now that Roger Dodger is gone.

I hate when people see a score and automatically think that one team "ran up the score" on another. You need to see the game in person, I believe, to judge that. I've been a part of many scenarios like this. Where some percieved we ran up the score, where we thought the other team did, and where you can just tell that we are doing all we can to get it over with. I've always thought that it was much worse to kneel on the ball or do some stupid crap to get the game over with then it was to just continue running the ball. As a coach we continued to run the ball, we would just put in our lowest-end players and maybe be slower to get to the line. I always made sure that our kids also were not laughing or showing up the other team in any way. Same goes in b-ball. I'm a ref and I remeber one middle school girls game that ended 40-some to 4. But when the team that lost scored there baskets they were soooo excited and the other team was excited for them. Some would say they were running up the score if you would just see the score, but us who were there know otherwise.

Wow, sorry guys I'm a little off after my long weekend. Yeah, it was West, Olson, and three out of towners, Selk being one of them. 92 do you know anything about Selk? How long ago did he leave EGF?

I don't think many people ever thought that NDSU loaded up the schedule with weak teams? I've always thought NDSU did a nice job of bringing in quality teams to start the year. UND has typically brought in weaker teams to start the season. Though I am a Florida fan and the Gators have been known to start out the season with a cupcake or two. (of course they play FSU at the end of each season)

That was my first guess when I heard that Perry was leaving. I'm sorry, LaDoucer DID NOT get an interview as I said he did in the first post. I would think West would get it, although the present AD from Brainerd got an interview. Hopefully Bruggeman does not get the job as he seems to have trouble with understanding a lot of stuff.
-
Who will be the new AD for GF? The committee looks a little "Central heavy". With Roise, Schatz, Mike Berg, Dan Carlson and Tracy Abentroth making it up. Terry West, Jared Bruggeman, and LaDoucer all got interviews, along with some out-of-towners. Anyone know anything?

I know NFL players have fought for the right to be able to remove their helmets after plays for marketing reasons. I think it is pretty dumb too, but think that they will use this as a reason to not bring it into effect. I think the main thing that hurts hockey players, as far as marketing is concerned, is the same thing that hurts their league in general, lack of fan support. Not that many people in the country like hockey, so why would a product use a hockey player as a spokesman when not many people will even know who he is? The NHL will never be on par with the NFL, MLB, and NBA so they need to realize this. I think many of the players are beginning to realize this by dropping their salaries and becoming willing to play for less. Like someone said earlier, the game is going to have to change drastically to gain more fans. They were arguing this point on KFAN yesterday and I wanted to see what you guys thought... They were saying that the Wild will sell out all of their home games next year (assuming they are playing). I find that very hard to believe, although Minnesota has probably the best chance in the league, I think they will feel the effects. Sure, they may have treated people nicely over the past year (sending them "no-hockey survival kits") but that can only do so much. The average fan that went to a few games and watched a few on TV will likely not want to pay to go to games.

PCM, do you think the full mask thing would ever fly? I don't think it would considering that they keep saying they want to make the players more marketable when/if they come back. Putting a full mask on them would hurt this a bit I think. Back to Roenick's words, I think that in a league hurting for fan support you should never say those things. Sure ESPN, FoxSports and the likes only played certain parts, but those were the parts that were newsworthy. Does the news talk about Randy Moss' charity fishing tournament? No. If Moss was found to be using a Whizzinator as a trolling motor would they report it? Of course. Roenick can't blame the media for replaying, and replaying, and replaying his words, even if they don't play the entire interview. I don't think ESPN is out to get NHL, although, maybe they don't want the NHL back so they can keep poker on and get higher ratings?
-
Yeah, I don't want to kiss his butt, that's for sure. I will, however, not go to the rink or spend any time watching the NHL. And I certainly won't spend any money to help to pay a guy like that any money.
