Not Dell's best weekend so far.

Like someone posted above, that octoshape thing has to be installed. I installed it last night but it was not running on my computer so I re-installed it and works fine now.

Just said on TV that the Duluth-Mankato game is on statewide and not in the specific markets like last night.

I poorly worded my point on property taxes. Yes, property taxes do rise yearly most of the time, but not always. But that tax is more or less a floating tax that varies by percentage points each year. The point I was trying to make was more about the sales tax issue and that number never going down. Yes, there may be a sunset clause. And yes, the city would have to sell the people on another project for it to get extended. I guess I'm wondering how many people vote on this issue when it comes on to the ballot? Is it like a normal political season turnout? More or less? I mean, are we talking 5,000 total votes on a tax that effects everyone? My guess would be that the people that are in favor are far more likely to vote in a special vote as opposed to the people opposed to it. People just don't seem to care that their vote matters as much anymore. Again, just my opinion. Also, does the potential sales tax hike have any side effects to people visiting Grand Forks on the tourism side of this spectrum. I saw that Fargo's sales tax was 1%(?) higher than that of Grand Forks. Does raising the tax in Grand Forks closer to that of Fargo's hurt the city's tourism estimate's at all? I have no idea. Just thinking out loud to this computer of mine.

I'm not saying I don't believe that the sales tax will go back to its original levels. I was just asking if it was written anywhere about the sunset clauses on the ballot. I will bet that in 30 months though, that the city will have another project that they will want to fund with the extra sales tax money generated. I'm not sure what the point of the property tax comment was for. The oil boom in the State of ND obviously helped lower the number's. I'm all for the state giving back when it's appropriate and viable.

What happens after 30 months and the City finds another reason to spend that tax money? Is it specifically stated somewhere that the tax increase will recede to the old levels? I've never seen or heard of taxes going down in my lifetime. Anywhere.

I agree he's fighting the puck. He's in a tough spot. But, dId you see where Dell's stick was on the breakaway goal last Saturday? About as good of a place as Eidness' stick was on Friday.

His performance against UNO? Gets sent into a game with his team down 2 men after Dell has already given up 4. Gives up 2 goals on the PP( 1 was a 5x3 and the other a 6x3) when the entire team couldn't get their crap together for a whole game. The 3rd goal he made the initial stop only to have his own player's standing around in front of him not boxing out the UNO players. The last goal was a breakaway. The only goal I want back is the one in the 3rd. Even though it was on a breakaway, we had all the momentum in the world at that point. All we needed was 1 more goal in that game to make it real exciting for the last 5 minutes. Personally, I would not have put him in the game at all. Dell should have stayed in. Eidsness obviously needs to play, but he lacks confidence. Getting thrown into a game like that where our team stunk it up is not going to help him out. If I were Eidsness and Dell keeps playing this well, he's gotta look at signing professionally somewhere to get some reps in the offseason. Playing once a month(@UNO in November, Exhibition in December, and in relief last weekend) is not enough starts if I were him.

What's next? No drinking in the presence of a minor in your own home? What a slippery slope. One of the first things I remember learning was to think before I spoke. In this case, these 3 people forgot to think before they wrote/typed.

how early to get there? We were the first ones through the suite-holders door for the Wisconsin series and by the time we got there, we were in the 6th row, center ice. You can be closer and off to the side, though. Only draw back is someone has to stay at the seats at all times or else you could lose them.
